The AXIS Lens i-CS 9–50 mm F1.5 8 MP is a genuine Axis optional CS-mount lens for Axis box cameras that need real reach. It is a varifocal telephoto covering 9 to 50 mm at a bright F1.5 aperture, it is IR-corrected so focus holds between day and night modes, and it carries an i-CS (intelligent CS) interface that lets the camera drive zoom, focus and iris electronically. Why an i-CS lens instead of a plain P-Iris lens
An i-CS lens is an intelligent lens: it carries its own data and communicates directly with the Axis camera, so the camera knows exactly which optic is fitted. That enables remote zoom and focus adjustment from the camera’s web interface — no ladder, no touching the lens after commissioning — along with automatic optical corrections the camera can apply because it knows the lens characteristics. Because the lens is also IR-corrected, the focus point stays true when the camera switches to night mode and the scene is lit by infrared rather than visible light.
Real telephoto reach
A 9–50 mm range is a genuine long lens for a CS-mount box camera — suited to car parks, perimeters, forecourts, loading docks and long corridors where a standard 3.9–10 mm optic simply cannot resolve detail.
Bright F1.5 aperture
F1.5 lets more light onto the sensor than a slower telephoto, which directly helps low-light performance and keeps shutter speeds usable on moving subjects at night.
Remote zoom and focus
The i-CS interface means field of view and focus are set from the camera’s interface over the network, which makes commissioning and later re-framing far quicker on high or awkward mounts.
