- Cameras — by style (fixed dome, bullet & box, turret, PTZ, panoramic / multisensor, specialty) and resolution from 2MP 1080p up to 8MP 4K, with Lightfinder and DLPU shown as badges.
- Recorder — pick the S30 Compact (S3008 Mk II) edge recorder with a built-in surveillance drive, or a turnkey AXIS Camera Station appliance (S2208 / S2216) with storage and a PoE switch built in. We auto-match the channel count.
- Storage — for the S3008 Mk II, set a retention target and we pick the right built-in capacity (2, 4 or 8 TB); Camera Station appliances ship with storage included. Either way there’s no separate drive to buy.
- Mounting & add-ons — add AXIS wall mounts, conduit boxes, plus optional D4200-VE strobe-speaker deterrence, horn speakers and PoE midspans / switches.

What is AXIS Lightfinder and the DLPU?
Lightfinder is AXIS’s low-light technology that keeps footage in sharp, true colour in near-darkness, paired with Forensic WDR for high-contrast scenes. The on-board deep-learning processing unit (DLPU) runs object detection and analytics at the edge — accurate human/vehicle classification with fewer false alarms.
Which AXIS recorder should I choose — S3008 or Camera Station?
The AXIS S3008 Mk II is a compact 8-channel PoE recorder that records at the edge — best value for up to 8 cameras, and ships with a built-in surveillance drive you choose by capacity (2, 4 or 8 TB). The AXIS Camera Station appliances (S2208 / S2216) are turnkey: they ship pre-loaded with AXIS Camera Station VMS and licences, storage and an integrated PoE switch. The builder picks the smallest recorder that covers your channel count.
How much storage do I need for 30 days of recording?
AXIS Zipstream dramatically reduces bandwidth and storage. As a rough guide, eight 4MP cameras need around 6–10TB for 30 days depending on scene activity and recording mode. For the S30 Compact the builder sizes the drive from your cameras, resolution and retention target; Camera Station appliances include storage out of the box.
