TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor — AX1800 WiFi 6 Outdoor Access Point with Omada SDN & Mesh
The TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor brings WiFi 6 (802.11ax) performance to outdoor environments — delivering dual-band speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps with the efficiency, capacity, and range that older WiFi 5 access points simply can’t match. Whether you’re blanketing a car park, warehouse yard, school oval, retail forecourt, or residential property with reliable wireless, the EAP610-Outdoor handles it with a dedicated high-power amplifier, professional-grade antennas, and a fully sealed IP67 weatherproof enclosure rated for Australian outdoor conditions.
Powered over a single Cat6 cable via 802.3at PoE (no separate power run needed), the EAP610-Outdoor integrates seamlessly into the TP-Link Omada SDN ecosystem for centralised cloud management, zero-touch provisioning, and seamless fast roaming across multi-AP deployments. Supports Omada Mesh for wireless backhaul where cabling isn’t possible.

Key Features
WiFi 6 (802.11ax) — 1.8 Gbps Dual-BandDelivers up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz — nearly 3× the throughput of WiFi 5. WiFi 6’s improved spectral efficiency means faster speeds even in dense environments with many connected devices.
OFDMA & MU-MIMO — More Devices, Less LagOFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) divides each channel into sub-channels, allowing the AP to serve multiple devices simultaneously rather than sequentially. Combined with 4× MU-MIMO, this dramatically reduces latency in high-density environments like car parks, stadiums, and school grounds.
IP67 Weatherproof — Built for Australian OutdoorsFully sealed against dust ingress and water immersion — IP67 rated for continuous outdoor installation in all Australian conditions including coastal salt air, tropical rain, and outback heat. Operating temperature range −30°C to +70°C.
Long-Range Coverage — High-Power Amplifier & Professional AntennasDedicated high-power amplifier with 2× 4 dBi antennas on 2.4 GHz and 2× 5 dBi antennas on 5 GHz extend coverage significantly further than indoor APs. Ideal for large properties, warehouses, school grounds, and hospitality venues.
PoE Powered — Single Cable InstallationPowered by 802.3at PoE (or included 48V passive PoE adapter) over a single Cat6 cable — no separate power run, no electrician required for most installations. Max consumption 12.5W, compatible with any 802.3at PoE switch or injector.
Omada Mesh — Wireless Backhaul Where Cable Won’t ReachOmada Mesh enables wireless connectivity between EAP access points — extend coverage to areas where running Cat6 cable is impractical without sacrificing centralised management or roaming capability.
Seamless Fast Roaming — No Dropped ConnectionsClients roam seamlessly between EAP access points without dropping connections — critical for VoIP calls, video streams, and IoT devices moving across a site. Supports 802.11r/k/v for enterprise-grade roaming.
Omada SDN — Centralised Cloud ManagementIntegrates into the TP-Link Omada Software Defined Networking platform for centralised management of all APs, switches, and gateways from a single dashboard — cloud-based or on-premises controller. Zero-touch provisioning, remote management, and real-time monitoring.
Pole & Wall Mounting — Flexible DeploymentMounting kits for both pole and wall installation included in the box. Waterproof antenna connectors and waterproof kit included for fully sealed outdoor cable entry. No additional accessories required for a professional outdoor install.
BSS Colouring — Reduces WiFi InterferenceWiFi 6’s BSS Colouring technology marks transmissions from different networks with a “colour” identifier, allowing the AP to ignore interference from neighbouring networks and focus on its own clients — critical in dense multi-AP deployments.
Recommended For
Warehouses & Industrial SitesCover large open areas with a single AP. PoE simplifies installation on existing Cat6 infrastructure. Omada SDN manages multiple APs across the site from one dashboard.
Schools & UniversitiesOFDMA and MU-MIMO handle hundreds of simultaneous student devices without lag. Fast roaming keeps devices connected as students move between buildings. IP67 handles outdoor courtyards and ovals.
Hospitality — Hotels, Resorts & Caravan ParksExtend reliable WiFi to pool areas, outdoor dining, car parks, and cabins. Omada Mesh covers areas where cable runs aren’t feasible. Fast roaming keeps guests connected as they move around the property.
Retail Forecourts & Shopping CentresCover outdoor retail areas, drive-throughs, and loading docks. IP67 handles weather exposure. Omada SDN provides centralised management across multiple sites.
Residential Properties & AcreageExtend WiFi to garages, sheds, pool areas, and outbuildings. Single PoE cable from the house switch powers the AP. Omada Mesh bridges to areas where cable can’t reach.
CCTV & Security InstallationsProvide reliable wireless backhaul for IP cameras in areas where running Cat6 to each camera is impractical. Pairs with TP-Link Omada switches and gateways for a fully managed network.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the EAP610-Outdoor need a controller? No — it can run in standalone mode managed via a web browser. For multi-AP deployments, the free Omada Software Controller (runs on a PC or NAS), Omada Hardware Controller (OC200/OC300), or Omada Cloud gives you centralised management, roaming, and mesh.
What PoE switch do I need?Any 802.3at (PoE+) switch or injector. The AP draws max 12.5W so a standard PoE+ port is sufficient. A passive PoE adapter (48V/0.5A) is included in the box if you don’t have a PoE switch.
How far does it reach?Range depends on environment, obstructions, and client devices. In open outdoor areas, expect 100–200m+ coverage radius. For large sites, deploy multiple EAP610-Outdoor units managed via Omada SDN for seamless roaming coverage.
Can I use Omada Mesh without running cable?Yes — Omada Mesh allows EAP access points to connect wirelessly to each other, extending coverage without a wired backhaul. Note that mesh backhaul does consume some bandwidth — wired connections are always preferred where possible.
Is it compatible with other Omada devices?Yes — the EAP610-Outdoor integrates with all Omada SDN devices including Omada switches, gateways, and other EAP access points for a fully unified managed network.
Can I mix it with older WiFi 5 access points?Yes — all Omada EAP access points can be managed together in the same Omada SDN deployment regardless of WiFi generation. WiFi 6 clients will connect to the EAP610-Outdoor; older clients connect to whichever AP is closest.
Is it suitable for Australian outdoor conditions?Yes — IP67 rated, operating temperature −30°C to +70°C, with waterproof antenna connectors and waterproof cable entry kit included. Suitable for coastal, tropical, and arid Australian environments.
Do you ship Australia-wide?Yes — fast dispatch to every state and territory from Australian stock. Same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2pm AEST (business days).
