Does the DS-9664NI-M8 have built-in PoE?
No — this is a non-PoE enterprise chassis. It's designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone. If you need built-in PoE for some channels, look at the DS-7732NI-M4/24P (32-channel, 24 PoE) as a sibling option.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk, WD Purple or enterprise-grade Exos drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout.
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 8 SATA bays. For most enterprise deployments we recommend RAID 5 (single drive redundancy) or RAID 6 (dual drive redundancy) — both protect footage if a drive fails.
Can it really output 8K and 4K at the same time?
Yes — HDMI 1 outputs true 8K (7680×4320) @ 30 Hz, and HDMI 2 outputs 4K @ 60 Hz, from independent sources. With the addition of two independent VGA outputs, you can run up to four monitors at once from a single NVR.
Is it rack-mountable?
Yes — the 2U chassis is designed for 19" racks and ships with rack-mount ears. Fits standard server, comms or AV racks at 90 mm height.

What's the difference between the M16 and the M8?
The M16 has twice the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the storage capacity (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis vs the M8's 2U. Same 64 channels, same 400 Mbps bandwidth, same dual HDMI + dual VGA. Choose the M16 if you need maximum storage retention; choose the M8 if rack space is tight.
Is there a redundant-power version available?
Yes — the DS-9664NI-M16/R has dual hot-swappable PSUs for sites where power redundancy is mandatory (data centres, critical infrastructure, government). Contact our Australian team if you need the /R variant.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted enterprise surveillance drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout. For 256 TB max, fit 16 × 16 TB drives in RAID 6 for dual-drive failure protection.

What's the difference between the M16 and the 9632NI-M8?
The M16 has double the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the maximum storage (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis vs the M8's 2U. Same 32 channels, same 320 Mbps bandwidth. Choose the M16 if you need extreme retention — 6–12 months instead of 2–3.
Why choose this over the DS-9664NI-M16 (64-channel)?
Same chassis, same 256 TB storage, but tuned for 32 channels at slightly lower price. If your site has 32 cameras (not 64) and needs extreme retention, the 9632NI-M16 gives you the same storage capacity with more bandwidth headroom per camera.
Is there a redundant-power version available?
Yes — the DS-9632NI-M16/R has dual hot-swappable PSUs for sites where power redundancy is mandatory (data centres, critical infrastructure, government). Contact our Australian team if you need the /R variant.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted enterprise surveillance drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout. For 256 TB max, fit 16 × 16 TB drives in RAID 6 for dual-drive failure protection.
Does the M16 have built-in PoE?
No — this is a non-PoE enterprise chassis. It's designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone. The M Series PoE variants (DS-7732NI-M4/24P, DS-7732NI-M4/16P) max out at 32 channels but with much less storage.

What does remote PTRZ actually let me do?It lets you pan ±190°, tilt -8° to +75°, roll ±97° and zoom/focus the camera over the network from a browser or VMS. You aim the camera once at install and can re-aim it later without a lift, ladder or site visit.
Is this a PTZ camera?No. PTRZ is for installation and re-adjustment, not live operator tracking. The camera is a fixed dome once positioned, though digital PTZ with preset positions is available within the 8 MP image.
Does the Q3628-VE have built-in IR illumination?No, there is no built-in IR. It relies on Lightfinder 2.0 for low-light performance, delivering colour down to 0.07 lux. For genuinely unlit scenes, add external IR or white-light illumination.
What field of view will I get?The 6.2–12.9 mm varifocal covers 103° down to 48° horizontally. Wide end suits forecourts and car parks; the tele end pushes pixel density out to gates, loading docks and long approaches.

Is the AXIS M4328-P suitable for outdoor use?No. The M4328-P is an indoor camera with an operating range of 0 °C to 40 °C and no IP or IK rating as standard. For semi-protected areas Axis offers the optional AXIS TM3820 Vandal Casing, rated IK08 and IP42 with the cover hatch fitted.
What resolution does it actually record?The sensor is 12 MP. The 360° overview streams at up to 2992x2992, panorama up to 3840x2160, and double panorama or quad view up to 3584x2688. Individual dewarped view areas run up to 2048x1536.
Does it have infrared night vision?No — there is no built-in IR illumination. It uses an automatic IR-cut filter with Axis Lightfinder for colour imaging down to 0.19 lux, and switches to black and white at 0.04 lux. It needs some ambient light, which is normally available in the indoor spaces it is designed for.
How much power does it need?It runs on Power over Ethernet IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 3, drawing typically 3.5 W and a maximum of 5.1 W. Any standard PoE switch or midspan will run it comfortably.
How many views can I stream at the same time?The camera streams the 360° overview plus up to four individually configurable dewarped view areas simultaneously, each with digital PTZ, preset positions and guard tours.
What analytics are included at no extra cost?AXIS Object Analytics, AXIS Image Health Analytics, AXIS Scene Metadata, AXIS Video Motion Detection and an active tampering alarm are all preinstalled. Object Analytics classifies humans and vehicle types across up to 10 simultaneous scenarios.
Will it work with my existing VMS?Yes. It supports ONVIF Profile G, M, S and T, and works with AXIS Camera Station Edge, AXIS Camera Station Pro, AXIS Camera Station 5 and third-party video management software from Axis partners.
Does it support audio?Audio and I/O connectivity is delivered through Axis portcast technology, which supports two-way audio connectivity and a voice enhancer, plus network speaker pairing. There is no analogue audio jack on the camera body itself.
Can I record locally without an NVR?Yes. The camera has a microSD / microSDHC / microSDXC card slot with AES-XTS-Plain64 256-bit card encryption, and can also record directly to network-attached storage (NAS).

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the AXIS M4215-V have infrared night vision?No. The M4215-V has no built-in IR — it relies on Lightfinder to produce colour images in low light, so it needs some ambient light. If your scene goes completely dark, choose the AXIS M4218-LV, which adds OptimizedIR.
What resolution does it record?2 MP / Full HD 1080p (1920×1080) at up to 25/30 fps, from a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor.
Can I adjust the zoom and focus remotely?Yes. The 3.5–6.6 mm varifocal lens supports remote zoom and remote focus, so the field of view (93°–47° horizontal) can be set from the browser interface after mounting.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?No. It is rated IP42 and 0 to 45 °C, which is an indoor rating. Use an Axis outdoor-ready model or a protective housing for exterior positions.
What analytics does it run?A deep learning processing unit powers edge analytics including AXIS Object Analytics with the time-in-area feature, plus AXIS Face Detector for public view monitors. Metadata from the DLPU speeds up forensic search.
How is it powered?Power over Ethernet, PoE Class 2 — a single Cat6 run from a PoE switch or NVR carries both power and video.
Does it have a microphone or audio input?There is no built-in microphone. Audio is supported through an AXIS T61 Series audio and I/O interface, which also adds I/O connectivity.
Can I record to a memory card?Yes, the camera has a memory card slot for local edge recording. The card is sold separately.
Is Axis NDAA compliant for government projects?Yes. Axis Communications equipment is NDAA Section 889 compliant and TAA compliant, making the M4215-V eligible for government, education and enterprise tenders.

What's the difference between the TiOC and Dual-Light cameras?The 2 TiOC cameras add active deterrence — a siren, red/blue strobe and two-way voice warning. The 2 Dual-Light cameras give continuous full-colour coverage. All four are 8MP 4K.
Should I choose the 4CH or 8CH NVR?The 4CH NVR is perfect if you'll only ever run four cameras. Choose the 8CH if you might add more later — it leaves 4 spare PoE ports for easy expansion.
Do all cameras record in colour at night?Yes — all four use a warm-light illuminator for 24/7 full colour. The Dual-Light cameras can also be switched to IR-only mode for discreet black-and-white at night.
Does this kit do AcuPick?The cameras are AcuPick-native and the included 4-Series NVR gives Quick Pick target search. For full AcuPick attribute search, pair them with a Dahua 5-Series NVR — ask our team.
Does a hard drive come included?No — the NVR has one SATA bay (up to 10 TB) but ships without storage. For 4 × 8MP on motion-only, ~2 TB gives roughly 2–3 weeks; choose more for continuous recording.

On a typical 32-channel site, you'd usually need the NVR plus a separate 24-port managed PoE switch — that's another rack unit, another power supply, another point of failure, and another piece of hardware to commission and document. Why choose the 24-PoE version over the 16-PoE model?
If your site needs to power more than 16 cameras directly from the NVR — typical for large warehouses, retail, multi-floor offices, schools and gated estates — the 24-PoE version saves you the cost and complexity of adding a separate PoE switch.
How does it handle 32 cameras with only 24 PoE ports?
Twenty-four cameras connect directly to the NVR's onboard PoE ports for power + data. The remaining 8 channels accept IP cameras from your wider network — either powered by an external PoE switch or by their own power supplies.
Does the DS-7732NI-M4/24P come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple surveillance drives from 4 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your configuration at checkout.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — the 1.5U chassis is compatible with optional rack-mount ears for standard 19" racks. Order the rack-mount kit alongside the NVR if required.
What RAID levels are supported?

What's the difference between the 6MP and 8MP option?The 8MP (DS-2CD2386G2H) records true 4K at 3840 × 2160 with a 1/1.8" sensor and DarkFighter 2.0 low-light colour. The 6MP (DS-2CD2366G2H) records 3200 × 1800 — both share Live-Guard strobe, siren, two-way audio and AcuSense AI.
What is Live-Guard active deterrence?On AcuSense human/vehicle detection each camera flashes a white-light strobe, sounds a built-in siren and lets you open live two-way audio via Hik-Connect — actively turning intruders away.
Do these see colour at night?Yes — Smart Hybrid Light switches between IR and white light (up to 30 m) for full-colour night imaging. The 8MP model adds DarkFighter 2.0 for superior ultra-low-light colour.
Is a hard drive included?No — this kit ships without an HDD so you can size storage to your needs. The NVR has two SATA bays (up to 32 TB total); add a surveillance-grade drive to suit your retention.
How are the cameras powered?Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 8 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies. Cat6 cabling is run on site and not included.

What's the difference between the TiOC and Dual-Light cameras?The 2 TiOC cameras add active deterrence — a siren, red/blue strobe and two-way voice warning — so they scare intruders off, not just record. The 4 Dual-Light cameras give continuous full-colour coverage. All six are 8MP 4K.
Do all cameras record in colour at night?Yes — all 6 use a warm-light illuminator for 24/7 full colour. If you'd prefer no visible light somewhere, the Dual-Light cameras can be switched to IR mode for discreet black-and-white at night.
Does this kit do AcuPick?The cameras are AcuPick-native and the included NVR4108 gives Quick Pick target search. For full AcuPick attribute search, pair them with a Dahua 5-Series NVR such as the NVR5208 — ask our team.
Does a hard drive come included?No — the NVR has one SATA bay (up to 10 TB) but ships without storage. For 6 × 8MP on motion-only, ~2 TB gives 7–10 days, ~4 TB gives 14–20 days; choose more for continuous recording.
Can I add more cameras later?Yes. The NVR has 8 PoE ports and you're using 6, so you can add up to 2 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
