TriGuard Active Deterrence
When the AI detects a person or vehicle, each camera flashes its strobe, sounds an audible siren and lets you talk through two-way audio — proactive protection that warns intruders off, not just after-the-fact evidence.
ColorHunter — Full Colour 24/7
A super-fast F1.0 2.8 mm lens with ColorHunter warm-light imaging captures vivid full-colour 4K detail even in darkness — so you record clothing colour, faces and vehicles in colour around the clock, not grainy black-and-white IR.
AI IQ Recorder — Find Events Fast
The NVR501-IQ adds AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree: filter footage by people or vehicles, follow a target across cameras, or search recordings in plain language — find what you need in seconds instead of scrubbing for hours.
One-Cable PoE Install
Eight built-in PoE ports power and connect each camera over a single Cat6 run — no separate switch or power supplies. 4K HDMI output, free EZCloud/UNV-Link remote viewing, and 4 spare channels to grow into.
How does the active deterrence work?
When the camera's AI detects a person or vehicle, it flashes a strobe, sounds an audible siren and lets you speak through two-way audio — warning intruders off in real time rather than just recording them.
Do the cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. These are ColorHunter TriGuard cameras — the F1.0 lens and warm-light technology deliver true full-colour 4K video 24/7, not grainy black-and-white IR.
Is this kit NDAA compliant?
Yes. Both the Uniview UNV TriGuard cameras and the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ recorder are NDAA Section 889 compliant, making this kit suitable for government, education and security-sensitive sites in Australia.
Does a hard drive come included?
No — the NVR has one SATA bay but ships without storage. We recommend a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD. See the retention table above to size your drive to how long you want to keep footage.
Does it support two-way audio?
Yes. Each camera has a built-in mic and speaker, so you can listen and talk live through the app or NVR to challenge trespassers or greet visitors (check local laws before recording audio).
How are the cameras powered?
Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 8 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies or powerpoints at the camera.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The NVR has 8 PoE ports and you're using 4, so you can add up to 4 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
What is AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree?
They're the recorder's -IQ AI review tools: AcuSearch filters footage by people and vehicles, AcuTrack follows a target across cameras, and SeekFree lets you search recordings by typing what you're after — so you find events in seconds.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. Free P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
