Do these cameras count people?
Yes. Each IPC3616SS-ADF28K-I1 supports people-flow counting and crowd-density monitoring, and the -IQ NVR can compile People Counting reports — so you can measure foot traffic and occupancy alongside normal security recording.
Is this kit NDAA compliant?
Yes. Both the Uniview UNV LightHunter cameras and the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ recorder are NDAA Section 889 compliant, making this kit suitable for government, education and security-sensitive sites in Australia.
Does it record in colour at night?
These are LightHunter cameras — they hold detailed low-noise colour in dim light, then switch to Smart IR for crisp black-and-white night vision up to 40 m once light drops too low. For full-colour-at-night under no light, choose a ColorHunter dual-light kit.
Does a hard drive come included?
No — the NVR has one SATA bay but ships without storage. We recommend a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD. See the retention table above to size your drive to how long you want to keep footage.
How much recording time will I get?
It depends on your cameras and settings. With all 4 × 6MP cameras recording continuously, roughly 8 TB holds about six weeks; switching to motion/smart-event recording or fewer cameras extends that significantly (full table above).
How are the cameras powered?
Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 8 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies or powerpoints at the camera.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The NVR has 8 PoE ports and you're using 4, so you can add up to 4 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
What is AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree?
They're the recorder's -IQ AI review tools: AcuSearch filters footage by people and vehicles, AcuTrack follows a target across cameras, and SeekFree lets you search recordings by typing what you're after — so you find events in seconds.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. Free P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
