8 Built-In PoE Ports
Connect up to eight IP cameras directly to the recorder with one network cable each — the NVR supplies both data and power (≤75 W total), so there's no extra switch or power brick to buy or wire.
Motion Detection 2.0
Four channels of on-board human/vehicle analysis filter out nuisance triggers from rain, foliage and animals, so notifications and searches focus on what matters.
True 4K Output
The HDMI port drives a 4K (3840 × 2160) display, and HDMI plus VGA run simultaneously so you can watch live and review playback on two screens at once.
H.265+ Efficiency
Smart H.265+ compression cuts storage and bandwidth use by up to 75%, letting a single 8 TB drive hold far more footage than an equivalent H.264 recorder.
How many cameras can it run?
Up to 8 IP cameras, each connected directly to one of the 8 built-in PoE ports.
What's the total PoE budget?
The 8 PoE ports share a total budget of up to 75 W, enough for eight standard HiLook bullet, turret or dome cameras.
What HDD size can I fit?
One SATA hard drive up to 8 TB. A surveillance-grade drive is recommended; an HDD is not usually included unless stated on this page.
Does it support AcuSense / AI?
This (D) revision adds 4-channel Motion Detection 2.0 (human/vehicle filtering) on the NVR, plus camera-side VCA. For full NVR-side AI such as facial recognition, choose the K-Series.
What's the maximum recording resolution?
Up to 8 MP (4K) per channel, with H.265+ compression to keep file sizes down.
Which cameras are compatible?
Any HiLook or Hikvision IP camera, plus ONVIF-compatible third-party cameras.
Does it need a separate switch?
No. The 8 PoE ports supply data and power to each camera over a single cable, so no extra switch or power supplies are needed.
How do I view it remotely?
Through the free Hik-Connect mobile app or the iVMS-4200 desktop client for live view, playback and notifications.
