WizMind · 6-Series Flagship · 32-Channel · 8-HDD · 2U
The Dahua DHI-NVR608H-32-AI/ANZ is a 32-channel WizMind enterprise AI NVR — Dahua's flagship 6-Series recorder with industrial-grade deep-learning, 1024 Mbps recording bandwidth, eight SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and HDD hot-swap, dual 2.5 Gigabit NICs, and four HDMI outputs including 8K display. The face database alone is 15× larger than the 5-Series — 40 databases, 300,000 images, 48 GB capacity — and NVR-side AI runs face recognition on 20 channels, perimeter protection on 24 channels and SMD Plus on all 32.
This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's a headend NVR with no built-in PoE — cameras connect through an external PoE switch or your existing managed network. Internal 100–240 VAC universal PSU, AS/NZS-compliant kettle cord, and a local 5-year warranty backed by CCTV Guru in Sydney (two years longer than the WizSense 5-Series). Built for casinos, banks, large transport hubs, hospitals, government facilities and any deployment where the 5-Series ceiling isn't enough.

Face Database
40 DBs · 300,000 images · 48 GB
Face Recognition at scale
20 channels of camera-side face detection feeding NVR-side recognition at 20 face snapshots/sec, or 4 channels of full FD+FR by the recorder at 12 fps. Forty databases hold up to 300,000 face images — large enough for staff registers, watchlists and visitor logs combined.
Perimeter Protection (24 ch by NVR)
24 NVR-side channels of tripwire and intrusion analytics (10 IVS rules each) — six times the 5-Series capacity. Plus all-channel perimeter via camera-side processing — every camera benefits from human/vehicle classification.
SMD Plus on all 32 channels by NVR
The NVR runs Smart Motion Detection Plus across every single channel simultaneously — no AI / non-AI channel split. Deep-learning second-pass classification on the entire site at once.
Video Metadata by NVR (8 channels)
NVR-side metadata extraction — top colour, bottom colour, hat, bag, umbrella, gender, age, vehicle make / model / colour / plate, helmet wear. The 5-Series only does metadata camera-side; the 6-Series adds NVR-side processing.
AcuPick on all 32 channels
Run AcuPick image-and-attribute search across every connected camera simultaneously — no 16-channel cap like the 5-Series. Pair with Dahua's AcuPick-ready WizMind / TiOC IPCs for full front-and-back search depth.
ANPR by camera (32 channels)
Pair with Dahua ANPR cameras for full 32-channel licence-plate recognition feeding a 20,000-plate database with blocklist / allowlist control. Carpark, fleet yard, toll-point and multi-site ANPR.

Bandwidth
1024 Mbps in / record · 800 Mbps out
Storage
8 SATA · RAID 0/1/5/6/10 · hot-swap
1024 Mbps recording bandwidth
2.7× the 5-Series ceiling. Comfortable for 32 cameras at 16 MP each on H.265+, or a mix of 32 MP and 4 MP feeds. AI-enabled bandwidth is still 512 Mbps — more than most 5-Series NVRs deliver flat-out.
32 MP at 30 fps decoding
The decoder handles 32 MP cameras at full 30 fps (vs 20 fps on 5-Series). For 4K cameras, decode 8 channels at 30 fps simultaneously; for 1080p, decode all 32 channels at once.
4× HDMI + 2× VGA outputs
Drive up to six independent displays. HDMI3 supports 8K display; HDMI1 / HDMI2 deliver 4K each. Configure heterogeneous or simultaneous output for control rooms with multi-monitor walls.
8 SATA bays · drawer hot-swap
Eight surveillance-grade HDDs (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) up to 16 TB each in a drawer-style chassis — swap drives during operation without bringing the recorder down. Total ~128 TB on-board.
Hardware RAID 0/1/5/6/10
Survive single-drive (RAID 5) or dual-drive (RAID 6) failures with zero footage loss. RAID 10 for performance + redundancy. Rebuilds run in the background while recording continues.
eSATA + iSCSI + ESS1504C expansion
External SATA archive port, iSCSI network storage, plus optional Dahua ESS1504C 4-HDD eSATA storage tray — easy capacity expansion beyond the 8 on-board bays.

N+M cluster failover
Pair multiple 6-Series NVRs in an N+M cluster — backup recorders automatically take over if a primary fails, ensuring zero footage loss for compliance-driven sites.
ONVIF (T / S / G) + DSS Pro
Full ONVIF profile support plus Dahua's DSS Pro VMS for multi-site centralised control. Native integration with Sony, Axis, Pelco, Arecont, Canon, Samsung and any ONVIF-compliant camera.
NVR608H-32 vs the family — how it compares
The 6-Series WizMind is a different tier from the 5-Series WizSense — enterprise-grade silicon, much larger face database, NVR-side metadata, 8K HDMI output, 2.5 GbE NICs and dramatically more bandwidth. Choose this when the 5-Series ceiling isn't enough. For sites running fewer than 32 cameras, the 5-Series WizSense range (5208 through 5864) gives you AcuPick at a lower cost-per-channel.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between WizMind and WizSense?
WizMind is Dahua's top-tier AI line — it uses an industrial-grade processor with built-in deep-learning modules and is aimed at enterprise, government, banking, healthcare and large-site deployments. WizSense is the SMB/commercial tier with a dedicated AI chip — capable but with smaller face databases, fewer NVR-side AI channels and lower bandwidth. The 6-Series WizMind has ~15× the face database capacity, 6× the NVR-side perimeter channels, 4× the SMD Plus channels, and 2.7× the bandwidth of the 5-Series WizSense flagship.
Why doesn't it have built-in PoE?
The 6-Series is purpose-built for enterprise headend deployments where cameras come in through a managed PoE switch (or stack of switches). The chassis priorities are storage capacity (8 HDDs with RAID and hot-swap), AI horsepower, video output count (4× HDMI) and uplink speed (2× 2.5 GbE) — not direct PoE delivery. Pair this NVR with a 24 or 48-port managed PoE+ switch.
What does the 2.5 GbE network port mean for me?
Each Ethernet port runs at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps — 2.5× faster than the gigabit NICs on the 5-Series. Useful when the NVR is doing both heavy AI processing AND streaming to multiple clients, or when you want one cable between NVR and switch instead of bonded gigabit links. Most modern managed switches now support 2.5 GbE uplinks.
What's the practical advantage of NVR-side video metadata?
On the 5-Series WizSense range, metadata extraction happens at the camera — if you pair a non-Dahua camera, metadata search is disabled. The 6-Series WizMind runs metadata extraction at the recorder on 8 channels, so search-by-attribute (top colour, age, vehicle plate, etc.) works regardless of which camera generated the feed. Important when you've inherited a mixed-brand camera estate.
Does the 8K HDMI mean I can run an 8K monitor?
Yes — HDMI3 supports 8K (7680 × 4320) output for one display. HDMI1 and HDMI2 each support 4K (3840 × 2160). HDMI4 and the two VGAs are 1080p. Configure heterogeneous mode for independent layouts across all six display heads, or simultaneous mode to mirror outputs across paired HDMI+VGA.
Should I run RAID 5, RAID 6 or RAID 10?
RAID 5 (single-disk redundancy) gives ~112 TB usable across 8 × 16 TB drives — the typical default for surveillance. RAID 6 (dual-disk redundancy) gives ~96 TB usable but survives two simultaneous failures — recommended for compliance-critical sites. RAID 10 (mirror-of-stripes) gives ~64 TB usable but extremely fast playback — useful when the NVR drives the control-room wall directly.
Is the DHI-NVR608H-32-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
Does the WizMind series get a longer warranty?
Yes — WizMind 6-Series enterprise NVRs ship with a 5-year warranty in Australia, two years longer than the 3-year warranty on Dahua's WizSense (4-Series and 5-Series) products. The longer cover reflects the project-grade build and is part of why WizMind units carry a premium over WizSense. Backed locally by CCTV Guru in Sydney with replacement stock on hand.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 444 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.4 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives. The drawer-style HDD bays support hot-swapping, so you can replace failed drives without unmounting the chassis from the rack.
