Dahua DHI-NVR5832-16P-AI/ANZ 32-Channel 32MP WizSense AcuPick NVR with 16 PoE+ ePoE & 8 HDD RAID

Description

WizSense + AcuPick · 5-Series · 32-Channel · 16-PoE · 8-HDD RAID · 2U

The Dahua DHI-NVR5832-16P-AI/ANZ is a 32-channel 5-Series WizSense AI NVR with AcuPick, 16 built-in PoE+ ports (ports 1–8 ePoE up to 800 m), eight SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10, and a 2U rack chassis built for long-retention enterprise installs. Plug 16 cameras straight into the recorder, bring in another 16 via network, record up to 32 MP per channel, and protect the entire archive across RAID-distributed storage scaling to roughly 128 TB on-board.

This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's the all-in-one option in our 5-Series 32-channel range — built-in PoE for the first 16 cameras, RAID-protected storage on the same chassis, and AcuPick searching across 16 channels at once. Internal 100–240 VAC universal PSU, AS/NZS-compliant kettle cord, and a local 3-year warranty backed by CCTV Guru in Sydney. AcuPick, N+M cluster, iSCSI and ONVIF 23.12 are enabled by Dahua's V5 firmware (current factory ship as of 2025).

16 PoE+ ports + 8-HDD RAID — true all-in-one

PoE Ports
16 × · 150 W · 1–8 ePoE 800 m
Storage
8 SATA · RAID 0/1/5/6/10 · ~128 TB

16 cameras plug straight in

Each Cat6 run carries power and video back to the NVR — no power adaptors at every camera, no separate PoE switch for the first 16 channels. Sixteen more cameras come in via your existing managed network for the full 32-channel licence.

ePoE on ports 1–8 (800 m)

Extended PoE on the first 8 ports — 100 Mbps up to 300 m, or 10 Mbps up to 800 m on Cat6. Eliminates intermediate switches and fibre runs on long perimeter or carpark cable runs.

RAID 5 / RAID 6 / RAID 10

Hardware RAID across all 8 SATA bays — survive single-drive (RAID 5) or dual-drive (RAID 6) failures with zero footage loss. Rebuilds run in the background while recording continues.

Powers PoE+ cameras

25.5 W per port (PoE+ / 802.3at) with 150 W total budget — comfortable for 16 standard cameras (~9 W each), or mix of 6-8 high-power PTZ / IR-heavy cameras at 25 W.

AcuPick on up to 16 channels — full-licence search

Search Method
Image + attribute · front + back AI

Search by reference image

Click any person or vehicle in recorded video, hit AcuPick, and the NVR scans up to 16 channels for matches across hours, days or weeks — clothing colour, body shape, vehicle make / model / colour / direction included.

Front- + back-end intelligence

Camera-side AI extracts target attributes during recording; NVR-side AI runs the comparison. Higher accuracy than recorder-only search and orders of magnitude faster than human review.

Investigations finish in minutes

Find a suspect across 16 channels and weeks of RAID-protected footage in a single search. Particularly valuable for police investigations, insurance disputes, and post-incident review.

ANPR + SMD Plus on all 32

While AcuPick covers up to 16 channels, ANPR by camera, SMD Plus by camera and perimeter protection by camera all scale across every connected camera up to 32 — site-wide intelligence with no channel left behind.

5-Series WizSense AI — depth at scale

Industrial AI Chip
Independent deep-learning processor
Face Database
20 databases · 20,000 images

Face Recognition (16-ch image stream)

16 channels of camera-side face detection feeding NVR-side recognition at 16 face snapshots/sec — covers the full PoE licence. Twenty face databases, 20,000 images, full attribute filtering.

Perimeter Protection (4 ch by NVR)

4 NVR-side channels of tripwire and intrusion analytics (10 IVS rules each), plus 16 channels of camera-side perimeter via WizSense IPCs — human/vehicle classification cuts false alarms from animals, weather and lighting changes.

SMD Plus on 8 channels

Smart Motion Detection Plus runs a deep-learning second pass on 8 NVR-side channels, plus 16 camera-side channels — classifies targets as person or vehicle so only real events make it to your phone.

ANPR by camera (8 channels)

Pair with Dahua ANPR cameras for 8 channels of licence-plate recognition feeding a 20,000-plate database with blocklist / allowlist control. Ideal for site gates, fleet yards and carparks.

Video Metadata search

8 channels of camera-side metadata extraction — top colour, bottom colour, hat, bag, umbrella, gender, age, vehicle make / model / colour / plate, helmet wear and more.

N+M cluster failover

Pair multiple 5-Series NVRs in an N+M cluster — backup recorders automatically take over if a primary fails, ensuring zero footage loss for sites where downtime isn't an option.

NVR5832-16P vs the family — how it compares

The 5832-16P (this model) is the all-in-one 32-channel option in the 5-Series — same 2U chassis and RAID-capable storage as the 64-channel 5864, but with 16 built-in PoE+ ports and a 32-channel licence. Choose this when you want enterprise-grade storage AND built-in PoE on a single chassis. For more channels at the cost of built-in PoE, step up to the 5864. For the same 32 channels in a smaller 1.5U chassis with 4 HDDs, step down to the 5432-16P.

Frequently asked questions

What's the real benefit of this over the smaller 5432-16P?
Same 32 channels and same 16 PoE+ port count, but the 5832-16P (this model) doubles the HDD bays (8 vs 4) and adds hardware RAID 0/1/5/6/10. That means roughly twice the storage (~128 TB vs ~64 TB) AND protection against drive failures. Choose this when retention, redundancy or compliance-grade storage matters. The 5432-16P is the cheaper option when 4 drives without RAID are enough.
Should I run RAID 5, RAID 6 or RAID 10?
RAID 5 (single-disk redundancy) gives ~112 TB usable across 8 × 16 TB drives — the typical default for surveillance. RAID 6 (dual-disk redundancy) gives ~96 TB usable but survives two simultaneous failures — recommended for critical sites. RAID 10 (mirror-of-stripes) gives ~64 TB usable but extremely fast playback — useful when the NVR drives the control-room wall directly.
Does this NVR really support AcuPick?
Yes. Dahua's V5 firmware (binary DH_NVR5XXX-EI_MultiLang_V5.001.0000000.0.R.251220 or later) enables AcuPick on the AI/ANZ unit alongside N+M cluster, iSCSI and ONVIF 23.12. The firmware is published on Dahua AU's official product page for this model and ships from CCTV Guru with V5 installed.
Why does AcuPick only run on 16 channels when the NVR supports 32?
AcuPick is heavy on AI-chip resources — running attribute extraction and image-search against 32 channels simultaneously isn't possible on the current 5-Series silicon. You choose which 16 of the 32 channels run AcuPick (the rest still record, and still get ANPR / SMD Plus / perimeter via camera-side AI).
How does the 16 PoE work with the 32-channel licence?
The first 16 cameras plug straight into the back of the recorder, drawing power from the built-in 150 W PoE budget. The remaining 16 channels come in via the single gigabit network uplink to your managed switch — they need their own PoE source (a managed PoE switch is the cleanest option). The licence covers all 32; the chassis powers half.
Is the DHI-NVR5832-16P-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
How much storage do I need for 32 cameras at 90 days retention?
For 32 × 4 MP cameras at H.265+ on motion-record, expect ~50–60 TB for 90 days. Eight 8 TB or 10 TB surveillance-grade drives (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) in RAID 5 gives ~56–70 TB usable — exactly the right size with single-disk redundancy.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 440 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.9 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives.
