Does this camera have active deterrence (strobe / siren)?
No. The 3867T-ZAS-IL is a silent Smart Dual Light surveillance camera — no red/blue strobe, no built-in siren, no voice broadcast. If you need active deterrence, look at the Dahua TiOC line-up (HFW3849T1-ZAS-PV-ANZ-S2 is the closest equivalent in the same form factor).
How is Smart Dual Light different from full-colour cameras?
Full-colour cameras run the warm-light LED constantly at night — clearly visible from outside, with light spill that can disturb neighbours. Smart Dual Light defaults to invisible IR for normal monitoring; the warm-light LED only fires when SMD 4.0 detects a real human or vehicle, then auto-switches back to IR. Less light pollution, less wear on the LED, full-colour evidence only when it matters.
Does it support AcuPick AI search?

Can the camera pan and tilt remotely?
No. The 3867T-ZAS-IL is a motorised vari-focal bullet, not a PTZ. The lens supports remote zoom and auto-focus, but the camera body itself does not pan or tilt remotely — the housing is aimed manually at install time. For a fully remote pan/tilt/zoom camera, look at a Dahua PTZ.
What does the camera see at night?
By default it uses 60 m IR illumination for invisible monitoring. When SMD 4.0 detects a person or vehicle, the warm-light LED switches on (also 60 m) and the camera captures full-colour 4K — clothing colour, vehicle paint, facial detail. Once the target leaves, it switches back to IR.
Does it have a built-in microphone?
Yes — the camera has a built-in microphone for capturing scene audio. There is also 1 audio in / 1 audio out (RCA) for connecting an external mic or speaker, plus 1 alarm in / 1 alarm out for PIRs or door contacts. (No built-in speaker.)
Will it keep recording if the NVR or internet goes down?

Auto-Tracking 3.0 + Linked Tracking Capture

One IP, One Licence, One Cable

The DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 is a high-power dual-sensor PTZ. It runs on either PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (42.5-57 V, 1.76 A — full ~90 W from the switch / injector) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply at 2.5 A. Standard 802.3at PoE+ (25.5 W) and Hi-PoE 60 W will not reliably power this camera, especially with the heater, IR ring, white-light array and PTZ motors all under load.
PoE 802.3bt Type 4 injector or switch on the camera's network run — single Cat 6 cable carries data and 90 W of power. Simplest install for most sites.
36 VDC dedicated supply at the camera — used where you're running fibre to the camera or where you prefer to separate power and data drops.
The chassis weighs ≈ 10.5 kg — heavier than a single-sensor PTZ. Use a Hikvision pendant / wall / pole mount rated for the load, and check that the substrate and bracket together can support the camera plus wind loading over a 10-year service life. The TandemVu architecture lets the two channels collaborate. The bullet sees the wide scene and detects events; the PTZ closes in on the target and captures evidence frames. The on-camera deep-learning engine handles classification, tracking and metadata generation locally — no central AI server required for the camera-level work.
Auto-Tracking 3.0 — Bullet Sees, PTZ Follows
The panoramic detects motion and classifies the target (human, vehicle, face). The PTZ automatically slews to the target's GPS-mapped location in the wide frame, locks on, and tracks the target through the scene at zoom. Linked tracking capture uploads best-frame close-ups during the entire follow.

About On-Camera ANPR (Checkpoint Scenario Only)
The DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 supports on-camera number-plate recognition via its deep-learning Road Traffic and Vehicle Detection engine — ≥98% LPR accuracy, 4 LPR region presets (including Asia-Pacific), a 10,000-record blocklist / allowlist, vehicle attribute capture (type, colour, brand, direction) and vehicle counting. Important caveat: Hikvision specifies LPR support only in a checkpoint scenario — meaning the camera is fixed on a defined approach lane where vehicles drive toward (or past at limited angle) the lens, at known speeds. Up to 120 km/h front-on capture, 80 km/h side capture. This is not the right tool for free-flow surveillance ANPR where the PTZ is also being used for general monitoring — for that workload, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet (iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY or iDS-2CD7A45G2/P-IZHSY). TandemVu's strength is simultaneous wide-scene + PTZ overwatch with auto-tracking — ANPR is a bonus, not the headline.

What is TandemVu and why is it different from a normal PTZ?
TandemVu is Hikvision's dual-sensor PTZ architecture: one chassis houses both a fixed wide-angle bullet (190° HFOV here) and a traditional zoom PTZ. The two sensors run as two independent IP channels from a single network drop. Result: the bullet keeps recording the wide scene at all times, even while the PTZ zooms in and tracks a target. A conventional PTZ loses the wide view the moment it zooms — TandemVu doesn't.
How many channels does this consume on my NVR?
Two channels per camera. Each TandemVu unit shows up as two streams (panoramic + PTZ) and consumes two NVR licences. Account for this when sizing the NVR — eight TandemVu cameras = 16 channels.
Does it really support ANPR / number-plate recognition?
Yes — but only in a checkpoint scenario. The camera must be fixed on a defined approach lane with vehicles facing the lens (or at limited side angle), at known speeds up to 120 km/h front or 80 km/h side. Accuracy is ≥98 %. This is not a free-flow ANPR camera. For free-flow ANPR on a busy road, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet such as the iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY.
What does the "-Y" suffix mean and which variant do you stock?
The -Y suffix indicates Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated, designed for coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline and areas affected by acid rain. We stock the DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 (with -Y) as our Australian default.
What does the "/26" suffix in the model number mean?

Why doesn't it run on standard PoE+ or Hi-PoE?
Two sensors, two image processors, a 90 W heater / IR / white-light / wiper load and PTZ motors push total demand to around 90 W. Standard PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, 25.5 W) and Hi-PoE 60 W are not enough headroom. The camera requires PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply at 2.5 A.
What's the difference between the panoramic and the PTZ channel for AI?
Both channels run the deep-learning AI stack independently — perimeter protection (line crossing, intrusion, region entry / exit), multi-target detection and target classification. The advantage of running AI on the panoramic channel is that you catch events anywhere in the 190° scene at all times; the PTZ then handles close-up follow-up via Auto-Tracking 3.0 with linked tracking capture.
How does Auto-Tracking 3.0 work across the two channels?
The panoramic detects a target and classifies it (human / vehicle / armed face). The PTZ automatically slews to the target's mapped location in the 190° frame, zooms in, and tracks the target as it moves through the scene. The bullet keeps recording the wide context for the entire follow — so you get both the situational view and the close-up evidence frames simultaneously.
How far away can the PTZ identify a target?
Per EN 62676-4 criteria at full telephoto: PTZ Detect 2,965.5 m · Observe 1,176.8 m · Recognise 593.1 m · Identify 296.6 m. The panoramic channel's DORI is much shorter (Identify 7.7 m) because that channel is intended for wide situational coverage, not long-range detail.
Is this NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Hikvision is subject to NDAA Section 889 restrictions in the United States. For NDAA-compliant TandemVu-style projects (typically US federally-funded), we stock alternative brands — please contact our team for a recommendation. Will the camera record locally if the NVR drops?

Why Choose the 7A IR PTZ over the 6A
Both the 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs share the same 1/1.8" DarkFighter 2.0 sensor, the same 36× optical zoom, the same 150 dB AWDR and the same on-camera deep-learning AI stack. The deciding question is how dark the scene actually gets at the far end of the zoom range. The 7A's built-in 300 m IR illuminator is the difference-maker: it lights an entire perimeter wall, dark haul road or rural property boundary at full telephoto, in zero ambient light. If the scene has streetlights, dock lighting or moonlight, the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 alone is enough. If the scene is genuinely dark, the 7A is what gets the shot.
300 m IR — Zero-Light Identification
Smart IR illumination out to 300 m at 850 nm wavelength. The IR LED array is matched to the 36× zoom optics — at telephoto, the beam tightens with the zoom to keep target illumination consistent across the working range.

DarkFighter 2.0 + 150 dB AWDR
Same sensor and same wide-dynamic-range as the 6A — 0.0003 lux colour, 0.0001 lux monochrome, 150 dB AWDR. At dawn / dusk / mixed lighting the camera produces colour and switches to IR-aided monochrome only when needed.
550°/s Pan · 300°/s Tilt
Pan preset speed up to 550°/s (max 700°/s), tilt to 300°/s. Faster than the 6A's 300°/s — important for incident response on big sites where the camera has to swing from one preset to a diagonally-opposite one in well under a second.
Smart Pan-Tilt Correction + Gyroscope EIS
Smart Pan-Tilt Correction automatically compensates for mechanical drift over time, keeping presets accurate to the original setpoint. Combined with the built-in gyroscope EIS, the image stays steady on tall pole mounts in coastal wind.
Lighter, Smaller, IR-Equipped
At 5 kg and ⌀ 215 × 297 mm, the 7A is actually smaller and lighter than the 6A (6 kg / ⌀ 231 × 356 mm) despite adding the IR LED ring — Hikvision re-engineered the optical assembly to gain the IR without growing the camera body.
Important Install Note — PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) or 36 VDC
The 7A IR PTZ does not run on standard PoE+ (802.3at, 25.5 W) or even Hi-PoE 60 W. Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W on either 36 VDC or PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 — the camera reserves 6.4 W for IR, 8 W for the heater and 52 W for the camera body. Standardise on one of the following:
PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 injector or switch on the camera's network run — provides the full 90 W via single Cat 6 cable, the simplest install.
36 VDC dedicated supply at the camera — used where you're running fibre to the camera or where you prefer to feed power separately from the data drop.
Standard PoE+ switches (15 W or 25.5 W class) will not reliably power this camera, especially when the IR ring and heater are both active in cold weather. Contact our Australian team for the right 90 W PoE++ injector or 36 VDC supply for your install.

The 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs are essentially the same camera with one decisive difference: the 7A has a built-in 300 m IR illuminator; the 6A does not. Everything else — sensor, zoom, WDR, low-light spec, deep-learning AI, face capture, face comparison, auto-tracking, IP/IK protection, cyber-security baseline — is essentially identical. The 7A is also faster (550°/s pan vs 300°/s on the 6A) and surprisingly lighter (5 kg vs 6 kg). The cost of the IR ring is more power — the 7A needs PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) vs the 6A's Hi-PoE (60 W class).

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the "-Y" suffix mean and which variant do you stock?
The -Y suffix indicates Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated, designed for coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline and areas affected by acid rain. We stock the DS-2DF7A436IXG-ELY (with -Y) as our Australian default. The base DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL (no -Y) has "no specific anti-corrosion protection" per the datasheet — we don't stock it.
How does the 300 m IR work — does it light the full 300 m at wide-angle?
The IR illumination range scales with the zoom. At full telephoto, the IR beam tightens and reaches up to 300 m with the smart-IR supplement adjusting intensity to avoid over-exposing close-range targets. At wide-angle, the beam spreads to cover the wider field of view at a shorter effective distance. The combination keeps target illumination consistent across the zoom range.
Why doesn't it run on standard PoE+ or Hi-PoE?
Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W. Standard PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) tops out at 25.5 W, and Hi-PoE (60 W class) doesn't have the headroom for the IR ring at full output. The camera requires PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 (90 W) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply.
Should I buy the 7A or the 6A sibling?
If the scene has any reasonable ambient lighting at night (streetlights, dock lights, security floodlights, mast lighting, moonlight) the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 sensor alone is enough — and you'll save on the 90 W power chain. Choose the 7A specifically for genuinely dark long-range sites: rural property boundaries, dark mining haul roads, unlit power-station yards, scenic-spot and river overwatch. Does it support number-plate recognition (ANPR)?
This is not marketed as an ANPR camera. The 7A PTZ is built for long-range surveillance, perimeter protection and auto-tracking. For on-camera number-plate recognition, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet — for example the iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY with its purpose-built LPR engine and 10,000-record plate database.
How far away can the camera identify a target?
Per EN 62676-4 criteria at full telephoto: Detect 2,979 m · Observe 1,182 m · Recognise 596 m · Identify 297.9 m. "Identify" means the image is detailed enough to recognise a specific individual — that's a usable working distance for almost any large-site security application. Detection extends nearly 3 km.
How does Smart Pan-Tilt Correction work?
Over thousands of pan/tilt cycles, mechanical drift can shift preset positions by a few degrees from their original setpoints. Smart Pan-Tilt Correction measures and compensates for that drift automatically, keeping all presets accurate to the original setpoint without manual re-calibration — important for unmanned sites where a technician can't easily re-set presets in person.
Is this NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Hikvision is subject to NDAA Section 889 restrictions in the United States. For NDAA-compliant long-range PTZ projects (typically US federally-funded), we stock alternative brands — please contact our team for a recommendation. For Australian commercial, council, port-authority, private and most state-government projects without an NDAA contractual requirement, this camera is freely usable.
Will the camera record locally if the NVR drops?
Yes. microSD up to 1 TB — when the network link to the NVR drops, the camera continues writing locally and the footage is available for retrieval once the link returns.
What's the warranty and where is it serviced?
This camera ships with a 3-year Australian Hikvision warranty, serviced back-to-base through Hikvision Australia. CCTV Guru manages the entire RA process from our Sydney office and provides Australian-based pre-sales and technical support for the life of the product.
Do you ship Australia-wide and is stock genuine?
