Ubiquiti UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire — PoE+ Over 2-Wire Twisted-Pair or Coax (TX + RX Pair)
The Ubiquiti UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire is a transmitter + receiver pair that delivers PoE+ data and power over existing 2-wire twisted-pair, alarm cable, intercom riser, or RG-6 / RG-59 coax — so you don't have to pull fresh Cat6 through walls, risers or conduit. It's built for upgrading legacy intercoms, analogue CCTV runs, lift and strata risers, and heritage buildings to UniFi Access, UniFi Protect cameras, IP intercoms or remote access points. Feed the transmitter with PoE++ (802.3bt) from any UniFi or third-party switch, run 2 wires (or coax via the included BNC adapters) up to 750 m, and the receiver outputs clean 802.3at PoE+ for your endpoint — plug-and-play, with no controller adoption required for the extender. Genuine Ubiquiti stock with fast shipping right across Australia.

Built for the jobs you didn't want to re-cable
Re-use the cabling that's already there
If a site has any pair of conductors between two points — alarm cable, old intercom riser, doorbell wiring, telephone pair, single-pair shielded, or RG-6 / RG-59 coax from an analogue CCTV system — the UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire turns it into a working PoE+ link. No fishing new conduit, no chasing walls.
Real PoE+ at the endpoint
The transmitter takes a PoE++ input (50 V DC / 1.2 A) and the receiver outputs genuine 802.3at PoE+ at 48 V DC / 0.6 A — enough to run UniFi Access readers, IP intercoms, G5 Bullet / G5 Dome / G6 cameras, U6+/U7 Lite access points, or third-party 802.3af/at devices.
Two BNC adapters in the box for coax retrofits
Each kit ships with two 2-wire to BNC adapters, so you can drop straight onto existing RG-6 / RG-59 runs from a legacy DVR install — ideal when you're swapping analogue cameras for UniFi Protect IP cameras without pulling new cable.
Up to 750 m on coax · 550 m on twisted pair
Performance scales with cable length: 85 Mbps and 25 W at 50 m, 85 Mbps and 13 W at 100 m on UTP, dropping gracefully toward data-only at the long end. On RG-6 coax data carries all the way to 750 m. Plenty for door readers, intercoms, mid-range IP cameras and access points.
Where Australian installers use it
Analogue CCTV → IP upgrades
Re-use existing RG-59 / RG-6 coax to deliver PoE+ to new UniFi Protect cameras (G5 Bullet, G5 Dome, G6 Bullet). No need to re-cable an entire warehouse, factory, school or carpark just to move from HD-CVI / AHD analogue to true IP.
Strata & apartment intercom retrofits
Re-use the existing 2-wire riser between the lobby station and each apartment or level distribution box to mount UniFi Intercoms or UA readers — without trenching common-property risers or coring fire-rated slabs.
Heritage & tenanted fit-outs
In heritage-listed buildings, leased shops and historic offices where you can't run new conduit, the extender keeps cabling work hidden inside existing chases and ceiling cavities — speeding sign-off and protecting your bond.
Long carpark, gate & perimeter runs
Drop the receiver at a gate, perimeter pole or boom-gate cabinet using whatever single pair the site already has back to the comms room. Ideal for boom-gate readers, intercoms and PoE cameras at the property boundary.
How it works
1. PoE++ source
Connect a UniFi or any 802.3bt (PoE++) PoE switch into the Transmitter's PoE++ input.
2. 2-wire run
Land the existing twisted-pair / alarm cable / 2 conductors of UTP, OR use the included BNC adapter onto RG-6 / RG-59 coax, between the TX and RX units.
3. PoE+ to endpoint
Plug your UniFi camera, intercom, reader or access point into the Receiver's PoE+ output. Done — no controller adoption needed for the extender itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work over old RG-59 or RG-6 coax from my analogue CCTV system?
Yes — that's one of its core use cases. The kit includes two 2-wire to BNC adapters. Re-terminate your old coax with BNC plugs, connect the PoE-in unit at the DVR / comms end and the PoE-out unit at the camera end, and you have PoE+ over the same coax you used to carry analogue video.
What kind of 2-wire cable is supported?
Any pair of insulated conductors: 24 AWG UTP (one pair of a Cat3/5/5e/6 cable), alarm cable, intercom riser, doorbell wire, telephone pair, or RG-6 / RG-59 coax via the bundled BNC adapter.
How much PoE actually reaches the endpoint?
It depends on cable length and type. On UTP 24 AWG: 25 W at 50 m, 13 W at 100 m, 9 W at 150 m, 6 W at 200 m. Coax is more efficient: 25 W at 50 m, 20 W at 100 m, 13 W at 150 m. Plan around the actual draw of your endpoint.
Do I need to adopt it in UniFi Network?
No. The extender is transparent — no MAC, no controller adoption, no firmware to manage. UniFi Network simply sees the camera, reader or AP plugged into the receiver.
Is it NDAA compliant?
Yes. Ubiquiti is a US-based manufacturer and the UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire is NDAA Section 889 compliant — suitable for government and security-sensitive sites.
Do you ship to all states in Australia?
Yes. CCTV Guru ships the UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire Australia-wide — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin and regional addresses. Most metro orders placed before 2 pm AEST go out the same business day.
