Built-in 6-Port Gigabit PoE Switch

Connect any HDMI TV or monitor to display live multi-camera feeds straight from the unit — no PC, tablet, or app required for on-site monitoring.
3.5″ HDD Bay — Local Storage
Install a compatible 3.5″ SATA hard drive for local recording, with built-in Data Protection to guard against drive failure. Keep full control of your footage — no cloud, no data leaving your premises.

No. UniFi Protect runs fully locally on the UNVR-Instant. There are no monthly fees and no cloud subscription required.
What hard drive do I need?
A compatible 3.5″ SATA HDD. Surveillance-grade drives such as WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk are recommended for 24/7 recording. The drive is not included.
How many cameras can it support?
Up to 6 × 4K, 8 × 2K, or 15 × HD UniFi Protect cameras, with mixed resolutions supported within those limits.
Can I connect more than 6 cameras?
Yes. The six built-in PoE ports power local cameras directly; additional cameras can connect via a separate PoE switch on the Gigabit uplink, up to the unit's maximum camera count.

All UniFi Protect cameras, including the G6 Turret, G6 Bullet, G6 Dome, and earlier G4/G5 series.
Can it also run UniFi Access?
Yes. The UNVR-Instant supports UniFi Access and can manage up to 50 Access hubs alongside UniFi Protect cameras.
