Does the Doorbell Lite require a UniFi Protect subscription?
No. UniFi Protect runs locally on a UniFi console or NVR. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required.
What do I need to run the Doorbell Lite?
A UniFi Protect host — such as a UNVR, Cloud Key Gen2 Plus, or a UniFi Dream Machine Pro/SE — plus a PoE switch to power the doorbell.
Is it a PoE doorbell?
Yes. The Doorbell Lite is powered and connected over a single Ethernet cable via a 10/100 MbE RJ45 port — no battery to charge.
What's the difference between the White and Black versions?
Identical specs and performance — only the colour differs. White (UVC-Doorbell-Lite-W) suits lighter entries; Black (UVC-Doorbell-Lite-B) suits darker frames and modern doors.
Is it weatherproof for outdoor use in Australia?
Yes. It carries an IPX5 rating and a −30°C to 50°C operating range, suiting covered and protected entry installations.
Is the Doorbell Lite NDAA compliant?
Yes. Ubiquiti is a US-based manufacturer and the Doorbell Lite is NDAA Section 889 compliant — suitable for government and security-sensitive sites.
