The deciding question is the illuminator and AI tier: do you want Smart Dual Light with full-colour evidence on detection and AcuPick AI search, or pure IR-only silent monitoring? Does this camera have active deterrence (strobe / siren)?
No. The 3867T-ZAS-IL is a silent Smart Dual Light surveillance camera — no red/blue strobe, no built-in siren, no voice broadcast. If you need active deterrence, look at the Dahua TiOC line-up (HFW3849T1-ZAS-PV-ANZ-S2 is the closest equivalent in the same form factor).
How is Smart Dual Light different from full-colour cameras?
Full-colour cameras run the warm-light LED constantly at night — clearly visible from outside, with light spill that can disturb neighbours. Smart Dual Light defaults to invisible IR for normal monitoring; the warm-light LED only fires when SMD 4.0 detects a real human or vehicle, then auto-switches back to IR. Less light pollution, less wear on the LED, full-colour evidence only when it matters.
Does it support AcuPick AI search?

How does this compare to the IR-only 3866TP bullet?
Same 8MP / 4K sensor, same 2.7–13.5 mm motorised lens, same WizSense AI core. The 3867T-ZAS-IL adds a 60 m warm-light LED for colour image, AcuPick AI search, 16 Mbps bitrate (vs 8 Mbps), 512 GB MicroSD support (vs 256 GB), dual-power backup, and Full HD on both sub-streams. The 3866TP is the cheaper IR-only option for sites where colour at night isn't required.
Can the camera pan and tilt remotely?
No. The 3867T-ZAS-IL is a motorised vari-focal bullet, not a PTZ. The lens supports remote zoom and auto-focus, but the camera body itself does not pan or tilt remotely — the housing is aimed manually at install time. For a fully remote pan/tilt/zoom camera, look at a Dahua PTZ.
What does the camera see at night?
By default it uses 60 m IR illumination for invisible monitoring. When SMD 4.0 detects a person or vehicle, the warm-light LED switches on (also 60 m) and the camera captures full-colour 4K — clothing colour, vehicle paint, facial detail. Once the target leaves, it switches back to IR.
Does it have a built-in microphone?
Yes — the camera has a built-in microphone for capturing scene audio. There is also 1 audio in / 1 audio out (RCA) for connecting an external mic or speaker, plus 1 alarm in / 1 alarm out for PIRs or door contacts. (No built-in speaker.)
Will it keep recording if the NVR or internet goes down?
Yes. The on-board MicroSD slot accepts cards up to 512 GB and records 4K footage independently of the NVR. Combined with dual-power backup (PoE + 12 V DC simultaneously), the camera has multiple layers of redundancy.
Is the camera suitable for Australian outdoor conditions?
Yes. It is rated IP67 and −30 °C to +60 °C — covering every Australian climate from a Hobart winter to a Karratha summer. The all-metal housing and ±30% wide-voltage tolerance also handle dirty mains power common on rural sites.
Does it work with Hikvision NVRs or third-party VMS?

Does it support VLAN for separating camera traffic from office traffic?

What is RMS and do I need a subscription?

The Vivotek AU-003 is a high-performance IP Network Horn Speaker designed for proactive outdoor security and public address. Unlike traditional analog speakers, the AU-003 connects directly to your IP network via a single cable, allowing for instant voice alerts, scheduled announcements, and real-time remote intervention.
Active Deterrence & Real-Time Intervention
The AU-003 is the perfect partner for Vivotek AI cameras. When a camera detects an intruder or loitering event, the AU-003 can automatically trigger a pre-recorded warning message or allow a security operator to speak directly to the individual in real-time. This Active Deterrence approach stops crime before it happens.
Simple PoE Installation & SIP Integration
Engineered for efficiency, this horn speaker is powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet), eliminating the need for separate power cables.
