Frequently Asked Questions
Does the NVR1004H have built-in PoE ports?
No. The NVR1004H does not include PoE ports. To power PoE cameras, you will need a separate PoE switch connected between the NVR and your cameras. If you prefer an all-in-one solution with built-in PoE, consider the VIGI NVR1004H-4P, which includes four 802.3af/at PoE ports.
Does the NVR come with a hard drive?
No — a hard drive is not included. The NVR1004H supports one 3.5" SATA drive up to 10 TB. We recommend a surveillance-grade drive such as the Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple series, designed for the continuous read/write demands of 24/7 NVR recording.
Does it only work with VIGI cameras?
The NVR1004H is optimised for VIGI cameras and offers plug-and-play auto-detection with the full VIGI range. It also supports third-party ONVIF-compatible IP cameras, though advanced features such as smart detection alerts may not be available with non-VIGI cameras.
Can I access recordings remotely on my phone?
Yes. The free VIGI app (iOS and Android) provides live view, playback, and smart detection push notifications from anywhere with an internet connection. No subscription fee is required for remote access.
How much recording time does 1 TB of storage provide?
Storage duration depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate, and recording schedule. As a general guide, four 4MP cameras recording continuously with H.265+ compression will typically fill 1 TB in approximately 7–10 days. A 4 TB drive extends this to roughly 28–40 days of continuous recording.
Can I expand beyond four cameras?
No — the NVR1004H supports a maximum of four channels. For larger deployments, consider the VIGI NVR1008H (8-channel) or NVR2016H (16-channel).
Does it support motion-triggered recording?
Yes. The NVR1004H supports continuous, schedule-based, motion-triggered, and smart detection-triggered recording. When paired with compatible VIGI cameras, it can trigger recording based on person or vehicle detection events.
WizSense + AcuPick · 5-Series · 16-Channel · 16-PoE · 4-HDD · 1.5U
The Dahua DHI-NVR5416-16P-AI/ANZ is a 16-channel 5-Series WizSense AI NVR with AcuPick, 16 built-in PoE+ ports (ports 1–8 ePoE up to 800 m), and a 1.5U chassis with four SATA bays — the perfect middle-ground between the compact 2-HDD 5216-16P and the storage-heavy 8-HDD 5832-16P. Record up to 32 MP per channel, plug 16 cameras straight into the back of the recorder, and scale storage to roughly 64 TB on-board across four 16 TB drives.
This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's the all-in-one 16-channel option with double the storage of the 5216-16P — same PoE budget, same chassis depth, but room for two extra HDDs and longer retention. Internal 100–240 VAC universal PSU, AS/NZS-compliant kettle cord, and a local 3-year warranty backed by CCTV Guru in Sydney. AcuPick, N+M cluster, iSCSI and ONVIF 23.12 are enabled by Dahua's V5 firmware (current factory ship as of 2025).
16 PoE+ ports + 4-HDD storage — built for upgrades
PoE Ports
16 × · 130 W · 1–8 ePoE 800 m
Storage
4 SATA · up to 64 TB on-board
16 cameras plug straight in
Each Cat6 run carries power and video back to the NVR — no power adaptors at every camera, no separate PoE switch. Full 16-channel PoE coverage with a 130 W total budget — comfortable for typical Dahua WizSense bullets and turrets at 7–9 W each.
ePoE on ports 1–8 (800 m)
Extended PoE on the first 8 ports — 100 Mbps up to 300 m, or 10 Mbps up to 800 m on Cat6. Eliminates intermediate switches and fibre runs on long perimeter or carpark cable runs.
4 SATA bays · 64 TB max
Twice the storage of the smaller 5216-16P. Four surveillance-grade HDDs (WD Purple, Seagate SkyHawk) up to 16 TB each — roughly 90–120 days of 16-channel motion-record at 4 MP H.265+.
Powers PoE+ cameras
25.5 W per port (PoE+ / 802.3at) — handles IR-heavy bullets, mini PTZs, multi-sensor cameras and active-deterrence units that exceed the basic 15 W PoE ceiling. Plan for ~8 W average per camera across the 16 ports.
AcuPick on up to 16 channels — full-licence search
AcuPick Channels

Search Method
Image + attribute · front + back AI
Search by reference image
Click any person or vehicle in recorded video, hit AcuPick, and the NVR scans all 16 channels for matches across hours, days or weeks — clothing colour, body shape, vehicle make / model / colour / direction included.
Front- + back-end intelligence
Camera-side AI extracts target attributes during recording; NVR-side AI runs the comparison. Higher accuracy than recorder-only search and orders of magnitude faster than human review.
Investigations finish in minutes
Find a suspect across 16 channels and weeks of footage in a single search. Particularly valuable for retail loss prevention, school investigations and insurance disputes.
Beyond Quick Pick
AcuPick is the next generation of Dahua's Quick Pick — more attributes, more accuracy, and supports both people and vehicles natively. Exclusive to the 5-Series WizSense NVR family.

NVR5416-16P vs the family — how it compares
The 5416-16P (this model) is the upgraded 16-channel option — same PoE budget and AI features as the 5216-16P but with double the HDD bays and a 1.5U chassis. Choose this when your install needs longer retention or higher-resolution recording but you don't need to jump up to 32 channels. For the most compact build, step down to the 5216-16P; for 32 channels with RAID-protected 8-HDD storage, step up to the 5832-16P.

Frequently asked questions
What's the real benefit over the smaller NVR5216-16P?
Same 16 channels and same 16 PoE+ ports — but the 5416-16P (this model) doubles the HDD bays from 2 to 4, doubles your on-board storage ceiling (~64 TB vs ~32 TB), upgrades video output from single HDMI/VGA to dual HDMI/VGA, and adds 16 alarm inputs / 6 alarm outputs (vs 4 / 2) plus eSATA. Choose this when you want longer retention or hardware alarm integration on your 16-channel build.
What does ePoE on ports 1–8 give me?
Extended PoE — long-distance Cat6 runs at reduced speed. Ports 1–8 support 100 Mbps up to 300 m or 10 Mbps up to 800 m (most IP cameras work fine at 10 Mbps for sub-stream + main-stream H.265+). Eliminates intermediate switches on long perimeter or carpark runs. Ports 9–16 run standard PoE+ at up to 100 m.
Does this NVR really support AcuPick?
Yes. Dahua's V5 firmware (binary DH_NVR5XXX-EI_MultiLang_V5.001.0000000.0.R.251220 or later) enables AcuPick on the AI/ANZ unit alongside N+M cluster, iSCSI and ONVIF 23.12. The firmware is published on Dahua AU's official product page and ships from CCTV Guru with V5 installed.
How much storage do I need for 16 cameras?
For 16 × 4 MP cameras at H.265+ on motion-record, expect ~12–18 TB for 30 days of retention. Four 6–8 TB surveillance-grade drives (WD Purple, Seagate SkyHawk) gives you ~24–32 TB on-board — roughly 60–90 days. For longer retention or higher resolution, fit 16 TB drives (the maximum supported) for up to 64 TB total.
How does the 16 PoE budget cover 16 cameras?
130 W total ÷ 16 cameras = ~8 W average per camera. That's comfortable for most Dahua WizSense bullets and turrets (5–9 W each). If you're running PTZ, IR-heavy bullets or active-deterrence units (15–25 W each), plan to mix in some lower-draw cameras or use an external PoE injector for the high-power ones.
Is the DHI-NVR5416-16P-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 1.5U / 440 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 4.82 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~8–10 kg fully loaded with four drives.
What's the 12 V alarm output for?
One of the 6 alarm outputs is a direct 12 V 1 A power feed — drive a siren, strobe light or electric strike directly without needing an external relay or power supply. The other 5 outputs are dry-contact relays you can wire to anything that takes a NO/NC trigger.

IDIS DirectIP® 2500 Series · 4K UHD · NDAA & TAA Compliant
IDIS DR-2516P-A — 16-Channel 4K UHD Network Video Recorder with Built-In 8-Port PoE Switch
The IDIS DR-2516P-A is the flagship 16-channel NVR of the DirectIP® 2500 Series — a compact, fanless-grade 4K UHD recorder engineered to be the central brain of small-to-mid Australian surveillance sites. It combines true 320 Mbps incoming throughput, 480 ips real-time recording at 4K UHD, native H.265 efficiency, an integrated 8-port PoE switch and full NDAA & TAA compliance in a single 1RU-style desktop chassis — ready to deploy in retail stores, schools, clinics, warehouses, council facilities and government sites.
For Australian integrators it solves three problems at once: commissioning speed (DirectIP® cameras auto-discover and register in under 60 seconds), cabling cost (built-in PoE means no separate PoE switch on the rack), and cyber compliance (NDAA Section 889 + ASD Essential Eight-aligned security stack out of the box). Stocked in Australia by CCTV Guru, backed by the IDIS Ultimate Warranty and local technical support.

Why the DR-2516P-A is the NVR Australian Integrators Specify First
Most 16-channel NVRs on the Australian market fall into one of two camps — either generic Chinese OEM rebadges (which fail NDAA, fail tenders and fail the cyber audit) or premium enterprise platforms with eye-watering price tags. The DR-2516P-A is the rare middle path: a Korea-manufactured, NDAA-compliant, professional-grade NVR at a price point that competes head-on with the mass market. Add IDIS DirectIP® plug-and-play and you get sub-60-second camera commissioning that no other vendor matches on a tier-for-tier basis.
True 4K UHD at 480 ips
Record all 16 channels in 4K UHD at real-time 30 fps each — total 480 ips of UHD throughput. Plus 8-channel 4K playback simultaneously for fast incident review.
320 Mbps Incoming Throughput
Industry-leading bitrate handling for a 16-channel platform — sustain 16 × 5 MP H.265 cameras at high bitrate without overflow or dropped frames.
Built-In 8-Port PoE Switch
IEEE 802.3at Class 4 (PoE+) on 8 ports, 100 W total — directly powers IDIS Lite, professional and AI-edge cameras with no external PoE injector or rack switch.
DirectIP® Plug-and-Play
IDIS DirectIP® cameras auto-discover, auto-license and auto-register in seconds — no IP addressing, port forwarding or VMS setup. Commissioning a 16-camera site in under 10 minutes is routine.
H.265 Codec — Half the Storage
Native H.265 (Main Profile) cuts bandwidth and storage by up to 50% versus legacy H.264-only NVRs — meaning longer retention windows on the same HDD.
Cyber-Hardened by Design
HTTPS, TLS-encrypted FEN P2P, multi-user authority, IP filtering and certificate-based auth — aligned with ASD Essential Eight and ISM requirements for Australian gov & CI.
Powerful AI & Business Intelligence Analytics
Pair the DR-2516P-A with IDIS AI-capable cameras (or use IDIS' AI-in-the-Box) and unlock a full suite of intelligent event triggers — natively recorded and searchable on the NVR itself, no separate VMS server required.
IDLA Deep-Learning Analytics
Object detection, intrusion, loitering, line-crossing and face detection — accurate, AI-driven event triggers with dramatically fewer false alerts than motion-based detection.
Business Intelligence (BI)
Exceed occupancy limit, social distancing alerts, mask-rule violation, queue-congestion analytics — valuable for retail, hospitality, transport hubs and council facilities.
Thumbnail & Metadata Search
Time-lapse, event log, text-in (POS), thumbnail and rich metadata search via IDIS Center or IDIS Solution Suite — investigations resolved in minutes, not hours.
Mobile Push Notifications
Real-time push alerts via IDIS Mobile to iOS / Android — store managers, school principals and oncall security receive incidents immediately.
Watch the DirectIP® Workflow
IDIS DirectIP® — 60-Second Camera Registration to an IDIS NVR
Third-Party Camera Support — Open Platform
The DR-2516P-A is not locked to IDIS cameras. It natively supports ONVIF Profile S cameras and has direct integration with Axis and Panasonic — making it a viable mixed-fleet recorder. Integrators retain pricing flexibility while keeping the NDAA-compliant IDIS backbone for everything that matters (the recorder, the analytics, the cyber posture).
Storage, Backup & Redundancy
2 × Internal SATA Bays
Fit two enterprise-class surveillance HDDs (e.g. Western Digital Purple, Seagate SkyHawk) for primary recording — current max capacity tracked at the IDIS HDD compatibility page.
1 × eSATA Expansion
Add an external eSATA enclosure for extended retention or warm backup of critical footage.
Quick Backup to USB
USB 2.0 + USB 3.0 (front/rear) for fast forensic clip export to thumb drive (.cbf or .mp4) — handover to law enforcement in minutes.
Redundancy Protection
Built-in HDD fail alerting, RAID-style redundancy options (model-dependent), and emergency event recording protection.
Smart & Critical Failover
IDIS Smart Failover and Critical Failover technology buffers recording during network outages — zero footage loss on NVR-to-camera link drops.
FEN P2P Cloud Service
Free IDIS FEN service for one-click remote viewing — no port forwarding, no DDNS, no static IP required.
Built for Australian Verticals
The DR-2516P-A is deployed across every major Australian vertical: retail and franchise stores (POS text-in search, queue analytics, loss prevention), schools, TAFEs and universities (8 PoE ports + 8 external = perfect for a typical school block), medical clinics, dental practices and aged-care (privacy-masked recording, fast incident review), warehouses and logistics (loading-dock plate capture, intrusion analytics), government offices, council buildings and federal sites (mandatory NDAA compliance), banking, gaming and licensed venues (forensic 4K capture, two-way audio), and strata, body corporate and apartment buildings (Australian Privacy Act-aligned privacy masking).
DR-2516P-A vs DR-2508P-A — Which Should You Choose?
The 8-channel DR-2508P-A sibling shares the same DirectIP®, codec, AI analytics and PoE platform but caps at 8 cameras and 4 PoE ports — perfect for small sites. The DR-2516P-A doubles capacity to 16 cameras with 8 built-in PoE ports, suitable for full-site coverage at retail stores, schools, medical practices and small commercial buildings. If you anticipate exceeding 8 cameras within 2-3 years, the DR-2516P-A is the better long-term spec.
NDAA & TAA Compliance — Non-Negotiable for Australian Tenders
The DR-2516P-A is fully NDAA Section 889 compliant and TAA compliant, manufactured by IDIS in Korea with no Chinese state-owned-enterprise components. Australian government departments, defence facilities, ASD/IRAP-aligned organisations, Five Eyes partners and most state government infrastructure tenders now require this compliance level. Specifying the DR-2516P-A future-proofs the entire CCTV estate against current and future procurement restrictions.

WizSense + AcuPick · 5-Series · 32-Channel · 16-PoE · 8-HDD RAID · 2U
The Dahua DHI-NVR5832-16P-AI/ANZ is a 32-channel 5-Series WizSense AI NVR with AcuPick, 16 built-in PoE+ ports (ports 1–8 ePoE up to 800 m), eight SATA bays with RAID 0/1/5/6/10, and a 2U rack chassis built for long-retention enterprise installs. Plug 16 cameras straight into the recorder, bring in another 16 via network, record up to 32 MP per channel, and protect the entire archive across RAID-distributed storage scaling to roughly 128 TB on-board.
This is the official Australia / NZ-market SKU (the AI/ANZ suffix). It's the all-in-one option in our 5-Series 32-channel range — built-in PoE for the first 16 cameras, RAID-protected storage on the same chassis, and AcuPick searching across 16 channels at once.
16 PoE+ ports + 8-HDD RAID — true all-in-one
PoE Ports
16 × · 150 W · 1–8 ePoE 800 m
Storage
8 SATA · RAID 0/1/5/6/10 · ~128 TB
16 cameras plug straight in
Each Cat6 run carries power and video back to the NVR — no power adaptors at every camera, no separate PoE switch for the first 16 channels. Sixteen more cameras come in via your existing managed network for the full 32-channel licence.
ePoE on ports 1–8 (800 m)
Extended PoE on the first 8 ports — 100 Mbps up to 300 m, or 10 Mbps up to 800 m on Cat6. Eliminates intermediate switches and fibre runs on long perimeter or carpark cable runs.
RAID 5 / RAID 6 / RAID 10
Hardware RAID across all 8 SATA bays — survive single-drive (RAID 5) or dual-drive (RAID 6) failures with zero footage loss. Rebuilds run in the background while recording continues.
Powers PoE+ cameras
25.5 W per port (PoE+ / 802.3at) with 150 W total budget — comfortable for 16 standard cameras (~9 W each), or mix of 6-8 high-power PTZ / IR-heavy cameras at 25 W.

Frequently asked questions
What's the real benefit of this over the smaller 5432-16P?
Same 32 channels and same 16 PoE+ port count, but the 5832-16P (this model) doubles the HDD bays (8 vs 4) and adds hardware RAID 0/1/5/6/10. That means roughly twice the storage (~128 TB vs ~64 TB) AND protection against drive failures. Choose this when retention, redundancy or compliance-grade storage matters. The 5432-16P is the cheaper option when 4 drives without RAID are enough.
Should I run RAID 5, RAID 6 or RAID 10?
RAID 5 (single-disk redundancy) gives ~112 TB usable across 8 × 16 TB drives — the typical default for surveillance. RAID 6 (dual-disk redundancy) gives ~96 TB usable but survives two simultaneous failures — recommended for critical sites. RAID 10 (mirror-of-stripes) gives ~64 TB usable but extremely fast playback — useful when the NVR drives the control-room wall directly.
Does this NVR really support AcuPick?
Yes. Dahua's V5 firmware (binary DH_NVR5XXX-EI_MultiLang_V5.001.0000000.0.R.251220 or later) enables AcuPick on the AI/ANZ unit alongside N+M cluster, iSCSI and ONVIF 23.12. The firmware is published on Dahua AU's official product page for this model and ships from CCTV Guru with V5 installed.
Why does AcuPick only run on 16 channels when the NVR supports 32?
AcuPick is heavy on AI-chip resources — running attribute extraction and image-search against 32 channels simultaneously isn't possible on the current 5-Series silicon. You choose which 16 of the 32 channels run AcuPick (the rest still record, and still get ANPR / SMD Plus / perimeter via camera-side AI).
How does the 16 PoE work with the 32-channel licence?
The first 16 cameras plug straight into the back of the recorder, drawing power from the built-in 150 W PoE budget. The remaining 16 channels come in via the single gigabit network uplink to your managed switch — they need their own PoE source (a managed PoE switch is the cleanest option). The licence covers all 32; the chassis powers half.
Is the DHI-NVR5832-16P-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
How much storage do I need for 32 cameras at 90 days retention?
For 32 × 4 MP cameras at H.265+ on motion-record, expect ~50–60 TB for 90 days. Eight 8 TB or 10 TB surveillance-grade drives (WD Purple Pro, Seagate SkyHawk AI) in RAID 5 gives ~56–70 TB usable — exactly the right size with single-disk redundancy.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 440 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.9 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives.

ONVIF (T / S / G) + DSS Pro
Full ONVIF profile support plus Dahua's DSS Pro VMS for multi-site centralised control. Native integration with Sony, Axis, Pelco, Arecont, Canon, Samsung and any ONVIF-compliant camera.
NVR608H-32 vs the family — how it compares
The 6-Series WizMind is a different tier from the 5-Series WizSense — enterprise-grade silicon, much larger face database, NVR-side metadata, 8K HDMI output, 2.5 GbE NICs and dramatically more bandwidth. Choose this when the 5-Series ceiling isn't enough. For sites running fewer than 32 cameras, the 5-Series WizSense range (5208 through 5864) gives you AcuPick at a lower cost-per-channel.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between WizMind and WizSense?
WizMind is Dahua's top-tier AI line — it uses an industrial-grade processor with built-in deep-learning modules and is aimed at enterprise, government, banking, healthcare and large-site deployments. WizSense is the SMB/commercial tier with a dedicated AI chip — capable but with smaller face databases, fewer NVR-side AI channels and lower bandwidth. The 6-Series WizMind has ~15× the face database capacity, 6× the NVR-side perimeter channels, 4× the SMD Plus channels, and 2.7× the bandwidth of the 5-Series WizSense flagship.
Why doesn't it have built-in PoE?
The 6-Series is purpose-built for enterprise headend deployments where cameras come in through a managed PoE switch (or stack of switches). The chassis priorities are storage capacity (8 HDDs with RAID and hot-swap), AI horsepower, video output count (4× HDMI) and uplink speed (2× 2.5 GbE) — not direct PoE delivery. Pair this NVR with a 24 or 48-port managed PoE+ switch.
What does the 2.5 GbE network port mean for me?
Each Ethernet port runs at 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps — 2.5× faster than the gigabit NICs on the 5-Series. Useful when the NVR is doing both heavy AI processing AND streaming to multiple clients, or when you want one cable between NVR and switch instead of bonded gigabit links. Most modern managed switches now support 2.5 GbE uplinks.
What's the practical advantage of NVR-side video metadata?
On the 5-Series WizSense range, metadata extraction happens at the camera — if you pair a non-Dahua camera, metadata search is disabled. The 6-Series WizMind runs metadata extraction at the recorder on 8 channels, so search-by-attribute (top colour, age, vehicle plate, etc.) works regardless of which camera generated the feed. Important when you've inherited a mixed-brand camera estate.
Does the 8K HDMI mean I can run an 8K monitor?
Yes — HDMI3 supports 8K (7680 × 4320) output for one display. HDMI1 and HDMI2 each support 4K (3840 × 2160). HDMI4 and the two VGAs are 1080p. Configure heterogeneous mode for independent layouts across all six display heads, or simultaneous mode to mirror outputs across paired HDMI+VGA.
Should I run RAID 5, RAID 6 or RAID 10?
RAID 5 (single-disk redundancy) gives ~112 TB usable across 8 × 16 TB drives — the typical default for surveillance. RAID 6 (dual-disk redundancy) gives ~96 TB usable but survives two simultaneous failures — recommended for compliance-critical sites. RAID 10 (mirror-of-stripes) gives ~64 TB usable but extremely fast playback — useful when the NVR drives the control-room wall directly.
Is the DHI-NVR608H-32-AI/ANZ NDAA Section 889 compliant?
No. Dahua products are not currently NDAA Section 889 compliant. If NDAA compliance is required (federal, government or defence installs), choose a Uniview, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch or IDIS NVR instead — CCTV Guru can recommend an equivalent.
Does the WizMind series get a longer warranty?
Yes — WizMind 6-Series enterprise NVRs ship with a 5-year warranty in Australia, two years longer than the 3-year warranty on Dahua's WizSense (4-Series and 5-Series) products. The longer cover reflects the project-grade build and is part of why WizMind units carry a premium over WizSense. Backed locally by CCTV Guru in Sydney with replacement stock on hand.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — 2U / 444 mm wide fits a standard 19-inch rack with ears (rack ears sold separately). At 6.4 kg empty (without HDDs), plan for ~13–15 kg fully loaded with eight drives. The drawer-style HDD bays support hot-swapping, so you can replace failed drives without unmounting the chassis from the rack.

Hikvision DeepinMind · AI NVR · 16 CH · 16 PoE · 8K
The Hikvision iDS-7716NXI-M4/16P/X is a DeepinMind AI Network Video Recorder — Hikvision's flagship 16-channel plug-and-play recorder for sites that take AI seriously. It brings true on-device deep-learning intelligence to your CCTV: facial recognition across all 16 channels, perimeter protection on every channel, AcuSearch image-based search, video structuralisation, ANPR, people counting and Motion Detection 2.0 — all processed locally on the NVR itself, not in the cloud.
Designed for serious Australian deployments — corporate offices, hotels, gated estates, schools, retail chains, car dealerships and government sites — this 1.5U NVR connects up to 16 IP cameras (all via built-in PoE) and outputs true 8K via HDMI 1 while a second 4K HDMI drives a spot monitor. Four SATA bays accept up to 16 TB each (64 TB total), with full RAID support for footage redundancy. Ships as a chassis only — choose your HDD configuration at checkout.

What makes DeepinMind different from a standard NVR
Most NVRs simply record video. The DeepinMind iDS series understands what it's recording. Hikvision's deep-learning engine sits inside the recorder, processing every frame to recognise faces, classify vehicles, detect line-crossing and intrusion, read number plates, and count people moving through a doorway. The result is a security system that doesn't just film events — it flags the ones that matter the moment they happen.
Facial Recognition & Face Library
Manage up to 16 face libraries with 100,000 enrolled faces, plus a 10,000-face stranger library and 5 million face-capture records. Compare at 48 pictures per second across all 16 channels.
Perimeter Protection
16-channel deep-learning intrusion, line-crossing and region-entry detection — drastically lower false alarms than traditional motion-only NVRs.
AcuSearch by Image
Upload a reference image of a person or vehicle and AcuSearch finds every other appearance in your recorded footage. Hours of investigation collapsed into seconds.
Video Structuralisation
12-channel video metadata extraction transforms raw footage into searchable structured data — people, vehicles, faces and licence plates indexed automatically.
ANPR & People Counting
Built-in automatic number-plate recognition for entrances and driveways, plus people counting for retail traffic, building occupancy and queue management.
Motion Detection 2.0
AI-powered motion detection that classifies movement as human, vehicle, or other — eliminating wind, rain and shadow false triggers for genuinely smart alerts.
Face recognition that works like your phone — but for your CCTV
You know how your iPhone Photos app automatically groups pictures of "Mum," "James," or "the kids"? The iDS-7716NXI-M4/16P/X does exactly the same thing — but for your live security cameras. Snap a photo of each family member, staff member, regular customer, courier or contractor and add their name. From then on, when the NVR sees them on any of your 16 cameras, you get a push notification on your phone that says "James arrived at the front door" instead of just *"motion detected."*
It also works the other way around. Add a banned customer, a former employee or anyone you don't want on the premises to a watchlist — and the NVR alerts you the instant they appear on any camera. Up to 100,000 faces across 16 organised libraries are stored locally on the recorder itself — no cloud subscription, no facial data leaving your premises, no monthly fees, ever.
Unlike battery-powered "smart" cameras that only recognise faces at the doorbell (and lose accuracy over time), the DeepinMind NVR runs the same enterprise-grade deep-learning engine used in Hikvision's commercial installations — applied to every camera, every angle, around the clock.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and a standard M Series NVR?
The iDS DeepinMind NVR has a dedicated AI processor inside the recorder. Even if your cameras aren't AI-enabled, the NVR runs facial recognition, perimeter protection and AcuSearch on the live stream — turning any IP camera into a smart camera.
Do I need special cameras to use the AI features?
No. The DeepinMind NVR processes video from any compatible Hikvision or ONVIF IP camera. Pair with cameras from our Hikvision AcuSeek Cameras collection for the sharpest face crops and best recognition accuracy.
Does it come with hard drives?
This SKU ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple surveillance drives from 4 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your configuration at checkout.
How does facial recognition work in practice?
Enrol staff, VIPs or known visitors into the face library. The NVR then alerts when a known face appears (or when a stranger does). Up to 100,000 faces can be stored locally and compared at 48 pictures per second.
Does it support RAID?
Yes — RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 across the 4 SATA bays. You can balance storage capacity, redundancy and performance to suit your site's footage retention policy.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 64 Channel · 2U Enterprise
The Hikvision DS-9664NI-M8 is Hikvision's flagship 64-channel M Series 8K Network Video Recorder — built for serious Australian enterprise sites where one recorder needs to manage every camera in a building, campus, depot or multi-site backbone. 64 IP camera inputs, 400 Mbps incoming bandwidth, 8 SATA bays for up to 128 TB, RAID-grade redundancy and 4 simultaneous display outputs (2 × HDMI + 2 × VGA) make this the recorder you specify when downtime, footage loss or "we ran out of channels" are not on the table.
This is a non-PoE enterprise chassis — designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone (or non-PoE camera infrastructure like fibre or wireless backhaul). Pair it with any of Hikvision's enterprise managed switches or third-party PoE infrastructure, then let the M8 handle recording, AI processing, multi-monitor display, RAID redundancy and centralised management for all 64 channels.

Why 64 channels in one chassis matters
Most large Australian sites running 50–60 cameras end up with two 32-channel NVRs — which means two devices to commission, two firmware update cycles, two user databases, two playback interfaces, and two separate footage archives that have to be cross-referenced when an incident spans multiple cameras. The DS-9664NI-M8 collapses all of that into a single 2U chassis: one recorder, one login, one timeline, one search. It's the difference between managing a security system and fighting one.
64-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
400 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Comfortably runs a full deployment of 4K H.265+ cameras across all 64 channels simultaneously — no bottlenecks, no compromise on framerate or bitrate.
Octa-SATA, 128 TB Capacity
Eight internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering month-long retention even with all 64 cameras at full 4K bitrates.
Dual HDMI + Dual VGA
Four independent display outputs — HDMI 1 drives a true 8K monitor, HDMI 2 a 4K monitor, plus two independent VGA workstations. Perfect for multi-operator control rooms.
RAID 0 / 1 / 5 / 6 / 10
Configure RAID across the 8 SATA bays to balance capacity, redundancy and performance. RAID 5 or 6 protects footage from single or dual drive failure without operator intervention.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, the NVR runs deep-learning human and vehicle classification across all 64 channels — filtering false alarms and making playback searches fast.

Frequently asked questions
Does the DS-9664NI-M8 have built-in PoE?
No — this is a non-PoE enterprise chassis. It's designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone. If you need built-in PoE for some channels, look at the DS-7732NI-M4/24P (32-channel, 24 PoE) as a sibling option.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk, WD Purple or enterprise-grade Exos drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout.
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 8 SATA bays. For most enterprise deployments we recommend RAID 5 (single drive redundancy) or RAID 6 (dual drive redundancy) — both protect footage if a drive fails.

Why 16 SATA bays and 256 TB change the project economics
For most enterprise sites, the biggest hidden cost in a CCTV system isn't the cameras or the NVR — it's the storage. A 64-camera 4K H.265+ deployment can chew through 60–80 TB per month at 24/7 recording. With most NVRs you'd need a separate dedicated SAN, an iSCSI target server or a stack of multiple recorders just to hold a quarter of footage. The DS-9664NI-M16 collapses all of that into one 3U chassis with 16 SATA bays — fill it with 16 TB enterprise drives and you have over 3 months of continuous 4K retention on every camera, in a single rack unit, with no extra servers, no extra licensing, no extra failure points.
64-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
256 TB Maximum Storage
Sixteen internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering three-month-plus retention even with all 64 cameras at full 4K bitrate.
RAID 0/1/5/6/10 + N+M Hot Spare
Configure full RAID across the 16 SATA bays, plus N+M hot-spare drives that automatically take over if a working drive fails — zero operator intervention, zero footage loss.
Dual HDMI + Dual VGA
Four independent display outputs — HDMI 1 drives a true 8K monitor, HDMI 2 a 4K monitor, plus two independent VGA workstations. Perfect for multi-operator 24/7 control rooms.
400 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Comfortably runs a full deployment of 4K H.265+ cameras across all 64 channels simultaneously — no bottlenecks, no compromise on framerate or bitrate.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, the NVR runs deep-learning human and vehicle classification across all 64 channels — filtering false alarms and making playback searches fast.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the M16 and the M8?
The M16 has twice the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the storage capacity (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis vs the M8's 2U. Same 64 channels, same 400 Mbps bandwidth, same dual HDMI + dual VGA. Choose the M16 if you need maximum storage retention; choose the M8 if rack space is tight.
Is there a redundant-power version available?
Yes — the DS-9664NI-M16/R has dual hot-swappable PSUs for sites where power redundancy is mandatory (data centres, critical infrastructure, government). Contact our Australian team if you need the /R variant.
Does it come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted enterprise surveillance drives from 8 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your RAID-ready configuration at checkout. For 256 TB max, fit 16 × 16 TB drives in RAID 6 for dual-drive failure protection.
Does the M16 have built-in PoE?
No — this is a non-PoE enterprise chassis. It's designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone. The M Series PoE variants (DS-7732NI-M4/24P, DS-7732NI-M4/16P) max out at 32 channels.
What is N+M hot spare?
It's a step beyond standard RAID: configure N working drives plus M designated hot-spare drives. If any working drive fails, a spare automatically replaces it and rebuilds the array — no operator intervention, no downtime, no footage at risk.
Do you ship to my city?
We ship Australia-wide from our local warehouse — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin — with most metro orders arriving in 1–3 business days. Larger enterprise orders shipped by carrier with tracking and signature.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 32 Channel · 3U · 256 TB
The Hikvision DS-9632NI-M16 is the enterprise-storage choice for 32-channel deployments — the same 3U chassis and 16 SATA bays (256 TB max) as the flagship 64-channel M16, but tuned for sites that need extreme footage retention rather than maximum camera count. Hospitals, casinos, hotels, mid-sized warehouses, government archives and compliance-driven facilities that need months of continuous 4K recording per camera, on a single recorder, in a single rack unit.

The 32-channel NVR for sites that take retention seriously
Most 32-channel NVRs ship with 4 or 8 SATA bays — enough for 30–60 days of 4K H.265+ footage. That's fine for compliance minimums, but it's barely two months. The DS-9632NI-M16 doubles or quadruples that: 16 SATA bays for up to 256 TB total — enough for 6 months to a full year of continuous 4K retention at typical 32-channel bitrates. For hospitals, casinos, government and compliance-driven facilities, that retention window is the difference between meeting an investigation window and missing it.
32-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
256 TB Maximum Storage

320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Comfortably runs all 32 channels at full 4K H.265+ simultaneously — generous bandwidth headroom per camera, so you can fit higher-bitrate streams without compromise.
ANPR, People Counting & Fisheye
Native support for specialty cameras — ANPR for entry/exit gates, people counting for hospital wards or retail traffic, and fisheye / panoramic for wide-area coverage.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the M16 and the 9632NI-M8?
The M16 has double the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the maximum storage (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis vs the M8's 2U. Same 32 channels, same 320 Mbps bandwidth. Choose the M16 if you need extreme retention — 6–12 months instead of 2–3.
Why choose this over the DS-9664NI-M16 (64-channel)?
Same chassis, same 256 TB storage, but tuned for 32 channels at slightly lower price. If your site has 32 cameras (not 64) and needs extreme retention, the 9632NI-M16 gives you the same storage capacity with more bandwidth headroom per camera.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 32 Channel · 24 PoE
The Hikvision DS-7732NI-M4/24P is a 32-channel 8K Network Video Recorder built for serious Australian sites — large factories, multi-building campuses, schools, hotels, car yards, logistics centres and high-end residential estates. The standout feature: 24 built-in PoE ports — eight more than the standard 16-PoE model — so you can power and connect up to 24 cameras directly from the recorder without needing an extra PoE switch. The remaining 8 channels accept IP cameras from your wider network for ANPR, panoramic, fisheye or third-party ONVIF models.
Four internal SATA bays accept up to 16 TB drives each (64 TB total), delivering months of continuous 24/7 recording even with all 32 channels at full 4K. AcuSense-ready firmware adds deep-learning human and vehicle classification, line-crossing, intrusion detection and perimeter protection across every channel — drastically reducing nuisance alerts and turning multi-day playback searches into seconds.

Why 24 PoE ports change the install economics
On a typical 32-channel site, you'd usually need the NVR plus a separate 24-port managed PoE switch — that's another rack unit, another power supply, another point of failure, and another piece of hardware to commission and document. The DS-7732NI-M4/24P collapses all of that into a single 1.5U chassis. Your installer plugs up to 24 cameras directly into the back of the recorder via Cat6 (up to 100 m runs), and the NVR handles power, data and discovery automatically. Faster install, fewer parts, lower total cost of ownership.
24 PoE Ports Built-In
Power and data over a single Cat6 run to 24 cameras, up to 100 m. IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant with a generous 210 W total PoE budget (max 30 W per port) — enough for a full perimeter without an extra PoE switch.
True 32-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
AcuSense Smart Detection
When paired with AcuSense cameras, the NVR runs deep-learning human and vehicle classification across all 32 channels — filtering false alarms from leaves, animals and shadows.
Quad-SATA, 64 TB Capacity
Four internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering month-long retention even with all 32 cameras at full 4K H.265+.
320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Designed to run a full deployment of 4K ColorVu, AcuSense and PanoVu cameras simultaneously — without the bottlenecks of lower-tier NVRs.
IP Speaker Integration
Connect up to 8 Hikvision IP speakers for two-way audio warnings, scheduled announcements or live security-officer talk-down — directly from the NVR.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the 24-PoE version over the 16-PoE model?
If your site needs to power more than 16 cameras directly from the NVR — typical for large warehouses, retail, multi-floor offices, schools and gated estates — the 24-PoE version saves you the cost and complexity of adding a separate PoE switch.
How does it handle 32 cameras with only 24 PoE ports?
Twenty-four cameras connect directly to the NVR's onboard PoE ports for power + data. The remaining 8 channels accept IP cameras from your wider network — either powered by an external PoE switch or by their own power supplies.
Does the DS-7732NI-M4/24P come with hard drives?
The recorder ships as a chassis only. CCTV Guru offers pre-fitted Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple surveillance drives from 4 TB up to 16 TB per bay — choose your configuration at checkout.
Can it be rack-mounted?
Yes — the 1.5U chassis is compatible with optional rack-mount ears for standard 19" racks. Order the rack-mount kit alongside the NVR if required.
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 4 SATA bays — letting you balance storage capacity, redundancy and performance for your site.
Do you ship to my city?
We ship Australia-wide from our local warehouse — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra and Darwin — with most metro orders arriving in 1–3 business days.

Hikvision M Series · 8K · 32 Channel · 2U Enterprise
The Hikvision DS-9632NI-M8 is a 32-channel 2U enterprise Network Video Recorder — the right-sized choice for medium-to-large Australian sites that need the full enterprise feature set (RAID, hot spare, dual HDMI, dual VGA, rack mount) without the rack space or storage overhead of a 3U chassis. Schools, mid-sized hotels, warehouses, distribution centres, retail chains and multi-tenant offices that run 24-32 cameras and need a recorder built for 24/7 reliability.
This is a non-PoE enterprise chassis — designed for sites that already run a managed PoE switch backbone (or non-PoE camera infrastructure like fibre, wireless backhaul or third-party power injectors). Pair the M8 with your existing switching infrastructure and let it handle recording, AI processing, multi-monitor display and RAID redundancy for all 32 channels in a compact 2U footprint.

Enterprise reliability in a compact 2U footprint
The DS-9632NI-M8 hits the sweet spot for sites that need real enterprise features — RAID, hot spare, redundant network, multi-monitor outputs, rack mounting — but don't need the 256 TB storage or 64-channel scale of the larger M16 chassis. At 2U high and 442 mm wide, it slots cleanly into a comms rack or AV cabinet without dominating it. Up to 128 TB of internal storage across 8 SATA bays gives you 3 months of continuous 4K retention for a typical 32-channel deployment — well beyond most compliance and insurance requirements.
32-Channel 32 MP Input
Every channel supports cameras up to 32 MP — mix PanoVu, fisheye, ColorVu and 4K+ AcuSense cameras across a single NVR without throttling resolution or frame rate.
128 TB Storage Capacity
Eight internal SATA bays accept enterprise-grade surveillance HDDs up to 16 TB each, delivering 3+ months of continuous 4K retention across all 32 cameras.
RAID 0/1/5/6/10 + N+M Hot Spare
Configure full RAID across the 8 SATA bays, plus N+M hot-spare drives that automatically take over if a working drive fails — zero operator intervention, zero footage loss.
Dual HDMI + Dual VGA
Four independent display outputs — HDMI 1 drives a true 8K monitor, HDMI 2 a 4K monitor, plus two independent VGA workstations. Perfect for multi-operator 24/7 control rooms.
320 Mbps Incoming Bandwidth
Comfortably runs all 32 channels at full 4K H.265+ simultaneously — generous bandwidth headroom per camera, so you can fit higher-bitrate streams without compromise.
ANPR, People Counting & Fisheye
Native support for specialty cameras — ANPR for entry/exit gates, people counting for retail or building occupancy, and fisheye / panoramic for wide-area coverage.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the M8 and the DS-9632NI-M16?
Same 32 channels, same 320 Mbps bandwidth. The M16 has double the SATA bays (16 vs 8) and double the maximum storage (256 TB vs 128 TB), in a slightly taller 3U chassis. Choose the M8 for normal retention needs and tight rack space; choose the M16 if you need 6–12 months of 4K retention.
Why choose this over a PoE NVR like the DS-7732NI-M4/24P?
The DS-7732NI-M4/24P has 24 built-in PoE ports, which is ideal for greenfield small-to-medium sites. The DS-9632NI-M8 has no PoE but offers 8 SATA bays (vs 4), RAID + N+M hot spare, dual HDMI + dual VGA, dual Ethernet and an enterprise 2U chassis — better for sites that already have managed PoE switches and need real enterprise features.
Is there a redundant-power version available?
Yes — the DS-9632NI-M8/R has dual hot-swappable PSUs for sites where power redundancy is mandatory (data centres, critical infrastructure, government).
What RAID levels are supported?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 are all supported across the 8 SATA bays, plus N+M hot spare. For most enterprise deployments we recommend RAID 5 (single drive redundancy) or RAID 6 (dual drive redundancy).
