NDAA-Compliant 16-Channel AI NVR
Uniview UNV NVR502-16E-IM-G 16-Channel Non-PoE NVR — Australian Stock & 3-Year Warranty
The Uniview UNV NVR502-16E-IM-G is a 16-channel, 2-bay network video recorder built for businesses and homes running their own IP cameras or a separate PoE switch. It records up to 32MP (8K) resolution in Ultra 265, holds two SATA drives up to 24TB each for around-the-clock retention, and runs Uniview UNV's latest AI tools — AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree — so you can find a person, vehicle or event in seconds instead of scrubbing footage for hours. As a non-PoE recorder, it pairs with any PoE switch or self-powered cameras for flexible, scalable installs.
AI search that does the work for you
AcuSearch & AcuTrack
Filter recorded footage by people, vehicles and attributes, then follow a target across multiple cameras on one timeline — no more frame-by-frame scrubbing.
SeekFree Smart Review
Instantly summarise hours of recording into the moments that matter — up to 16 channels with third-party cameras, or 32 with Uniview UNV SIP/UMD cameras.
Smart by NVR
Run Face Detection, Smart Intrusion Prevention (SIP), Video Metadata and Licence Plate Comparison directly on the recorder, even with standard cameras.
Plate & Vehicle Recognition
Build up to 5 plate libraries totalling 25,000 vehicles, with metadata for vehicle type, colour and brand — ideal for car parks and gated sites.
Built for reliable, always-on recording
Up to 48TB Across 2 Bays
Two SATA bays support up to 24TB per drive, with RAID 1 mirroring and redundant storage to protect critical footage.
ANR Anti-Dropout
If the network drops, ANR keeps recording to the camera's onboard SD card and backfills the NVR once the link returns — no gaps.
4K HDMI + VGA Output
Drive a 4K display over HDMI and a second monitor over VGA simultaneously for a true dual-screen control room view.
Dual Gigabit Network
Two RJ45 gigabit ports support multi-access, load balancing and network fault tolerance for resilient, high-bandwidth installs.

How much footage can it hold?
Recording time depends on how many cameras you run, their resolution and frame rate, and whether you record continuously or on motion. The estimates below assume 16 cameras at 4MP, H.265, ~4 Mbps continuous — a typical real-world load. Smart/motion-only recording, lower resolution or fewer cameras will extend retention significantly. Maximum capacity is two SATA drives at 24TB each (48TB).
Approximate Recording Retention (16 × 4MP, H.265)
| 4 TB |
~6 days continuous · ~14 days motion-based |
| 8 TB |
~12 days continuous · ~28 days motion-based |
| 16 TB |
~24 days continuous · ~55 days motion-based |
| 24 TB |
~36 days continuous · ~80 days motion-based |
| 2 × 24 TB (48 TB max) |
~71 days continuous · ~160 days motion-based |

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this NVR have built-in PoE ports? No. The NVR502-16E-IM-G is a non-PoE recorder. You connect cameras over your network and power them with a separate PoE switch or their own power supply, which keeps the unit cooler and lets you place cameras further from the recorder.
How many cameras can it record?Up to 16 IP channels at once, with 192 Mbps of incoming bandwidth — enough headroom for high-megapixel cameras.
What's the maximum storage? Two SATA bays each take up to 24TB, for around 48TB total. RAID 1 mirroring is available if you want footage written to two drives for redundancy.
What resolution can it record?Up to 32MP (8K) per channel in Ultra 265, H.265 or H.264, so it's ready for the latest high-resolution Uniview cameras.
What is AcuSearch and SeekFree? They're Uniview UNV's AI review tools. AcuSearch filters footage by people and vehicles, AcuTrack follows a target across cameras, and SeekFree condenses hours of video into the key moments.
Is it NDAA compliant?Yes. The NVR502-16E-IM-G is NDAA compliant, making it suitable for government, education and enterprise projects with procurement requirements.
Does it work with third-party cameras?Yes, via ONVIF Profile S. AI functions like AcuSearch and SIP run on up to 16 standard third-party channels, or all channels with Uniview UNV SIP/UMD cameras.
Can I view it remotely?Yes. P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
What's in the box and what warranty applies? The recorder ships with its power adapter and accessories (drives sold separately) and is backed by a 3-year Australian warranty with local CCTV Guru support.
