Does the G6 Bullet require a UniFi Protect subscription?
No. UniFi Protect runs locally on a compatible UniFi NVR or Dream Machine. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required for full functionality.
What NVR is required?
Any UniFi Protect-compatible NVR running current firmware, including the UNVR, UDM-SE (8 × PoE ports), UDM-Pro, UDM-Pro-Max, or UniFi Dream Wall (12 × PoE ports).
Is it suitable for outdoor use in Australia?
Yes. IP66 weatherproofing and a -20°C to 50°C operating range make it fully suited to Australian outdoor environments including coastal, high-humidity, and high-UV areas.
What is the difference between White and Black versions?
Identical in specs and performance — only the colour differs. White (UVC-G6-Bullet-W) suits light surfaces; Black (UVC-G6-Bullet-B) suits dark surfaces and discreet installations.
Can it be pole mounted?
Yes. The included mounting bracket supports both wall and pole mounting, making it ideal for perimeter fencing, car parks, and open outdoor areas.
Does it work without an NVR?
The G6 Bullet requires a UniFi Protect NVR or Dream Machine for full functionality including recording and AI alerts. It does not support standalone local storage via microSD.
