Is the G5 Flex 4K?
No. The G5 Flex records 2K (4MP) at 2688 × 1512. It is a compact 2K camera rather than a 4K model.
Can the G5 Flex be used outdoors?
It is partial-outdoor capable. Rated IPX4 while covered, it should be installed under cover — such as an eave, soffit, or porch — rather than in fully exposed positions.
Does the G5 Flex require a UniFi Protect subscription?
No. UniFi Protect runs locally on a UniFi NVR or Dream Machine. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required.
What do I need to run the G5 Flex?
A UniFi Protect host — such as a UNVR, Cloud Key Gen2 Plus, or a UniFi Dream Machine Pro/SE/Wall — plus a PoE switch or injector to power the camera.
Does it record audio?
Yes. The G5 Flex has an integrated microphone that records audio and can be disabled if not required.
Is the G5 Flex NDAA compliant?
Yes. Ubiquiti is a US-based manufacturer and the G5 Flex is NDAA Section 889 compliant — suitable for government and security-sensitive sites.
