Does it work with Android or Google Home?
No. This original 10EBN9901 generation is built exclusively for Apple HomeKit over Bluetooth and is controlled through the Apple Home or Eve app on an iPhone or iPad. It is not compatible with Android, Google Home or Amazon Alexa.
Do I need an Apple TV or HomePod?
For local control the sensor pairs directly to your iPhone or iPad over Bluetooth. To receive notifications and check status while away from home, you need an Apple home hub — a HomePod or Apple TV (4th generation or later).
Does it support Matter or Thread?
No. The 10EBN9901 is the original Bluetooth, HomeKit-only generation. If you need Matter over Thread for multi-platform use, choose the newer Matter version of Eve Door & Window instead.
How is it powered and how long does the battery last?
It runs on a single replaceable ½ AA (ER14250 3.6 V) lithium battery, included in the box. Battery status is shown in the Eve app, and the cell swaps out without removing the adhesive mount.
Is there a subscription or Eve account?
No. There is no Eve account, no registration and no subscription. Status and history stay in Apple Home and the Eve app — never on an Eve cloud.
Indoor or outdoor, and how does it mount?
Indoor use on doors, windows, cabinets and safety gates. It installs in about a minute with the included adhesive — no tools required. The reader is 52 × 24 × 23 mm and the magnet tag is 18 × 18 × 8 mm.
