Is the PRO worth the extra cost over the standard 3849?
For sites where night-time image quality matters — dark driveways, undercover carparks, commercial perimeters at the edge of street lighting — yes, the F1.0 aperture and 1/1.8″ sensor make a visible difference. For well-lit sites, the standard 3849 delivers most of the same TiOC capability at a lower price.
Do I need a special NVR for AcuPick?
Yes — AcuPick target search requires a compatible Dahua 5-Series AcuPick NVR. The TiOC PRO deterrence chain, SMD 4.0, IVS, face detection and two-way audio all work on any Dahua AI NVR.
Does the PRO have face recognition?
The PRO supports face detection (full image) — it detects and indexes faces as metadata for fast search and event tagging. It does not perform face recognition (watchlist matching) — that needs a dedicated face-recognition camera or a Dahua face-DB server.
Will the camera deter intruders automatically?
Yes. The TiOC PRO deterrence chain fires the instant SMD 4.0 confirms a human or vehicle inside the rule zone — strobe, siren and voice broadcast all run on-camera 24/7, without any operator, NVR command or mobile-app interaction.
What's the difference between the White and Black versions?
Specifications are identical. DH-IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO-ANZ is white; DH-IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO-ANZ-BLK is black. Choose black for dark eaves and charcoal fascia; white for cream/render walls.
Do you stock the 3.6 mm lens version?
No — CCTV Guru stocks the 2.8 mm version only (109° wide field of view). The 3.6 mm version is a special-order item — contact us if you need one for a narrower shot.
Will it keep recording if the NVR or internet goes down?
Yes. The on-board microSD slot accepts cards up to 512 GB and records 4K footage independently of the NVR. Dual-power backup (PoE + 12 VDC) keeps the camera running if one power source fails.
