Active Deterrence in 4K
The two IPC3638SS cameras don't just record — when AI spots a person or vehicle in a marked zone they fire a strobe, sound a siren and let you talk down intruders through two-way audio, all in 24/7 full-colour 4K. Ideal for the front gate, driveway or loading dock.
4K Coverage in the Dark
The four IPC3618SS LightHunter cameras deliver clean, low-noise 8MP images with Smart IR to 40 m and 130 dB WDR, covering side paths, yards and back entries in sharp 4K detail where deterrence isn't needed but clarity is.
AI IQ Recorder — Find Events Fast
The NVR501-IQ adds AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree: filter footage by people or vehicles, follow a target across cameras, or search recordings in plain language — find what you need in seconds instead of scrubbing for hours.
One-Cable PoE Install
Eight built-in PoE ports power and connect all six cameras over a single Cat6 run each — no separate switch or power supplies. 4K HDMI output, free EZCloud/UNV-Link remote viewing, and 2 spare channels to grow into.
What makes the two active-deterrence cameras different?
The IPC3638SS cameras add a strobe, a built-in siren and two-way audio. When AI detects a person or vehicle in a marked zone they flash, sound an alarm and let you speak through the camera — actively warning intruders off, not just recording them, all in 4K.
Do the cameras record in colour at night?
The two ColorHunter active-deterrence cameras record 24/7 full colour using warm light. The four LightHunter IR cameras give bright low-light images at dusk and switch to sharp black-and-white Smart IR (to 40 m) in full darkness.
Is this kit NDAA compliant?
Yes. All six Uniview UNV cameras and the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ recorder are NDAA Section 889 compliant, making this kit suitable for government, education and security-sensitive sites in Australia.
Does a hard drive come included?
No — the NVR has one SATA bay but ships without storage. We recommend a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD. See the retention table above to size your drive to how long you want to keep footage.
How much recording time will I get?
It depends on your cameras and settings. With all 6 × 8MP cameras recording continuously, roughly 8 TB holds about three-and-a-half weeks; switching to motion/smart-event recording or fewer cameras extends that significantly (full table above).
How are the cameras powered?
Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 8 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies or powerpoints at the camera.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The NVR has 8 PoE ports and you're using 6, so you can add up to 2 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
What is AcuSearch, AcuTrack and SeekFree?
They're the recorder's -IQ AI review tools: AcuSearch filters footage by people and vehicles, AcuTrack follows a target across cameras, and SeekFree lets you search recordings by typing what you're after — so you find events in seconds.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. Free P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
