Installer Apps and Client Management: A–Z Guide by Brand

  • 15 min reading time

Choose installer, VMS and cloud tools by brand for commissioning, client handover, remote maintenance and permissions, with model and regional requirements.

Installers need the correct commissioning and maintenance platform, while customers need the correct everyday control app. A list of shared cameras on your phone is not automatically a multi-client management system. This guide covers app-enabled brands and distinguishes installer management platforms from ordinary customer account sharing. Some brands offer a customer app without a dedicated multi-client management platform.

Reviewed 21 October 2026. This guide covers 21 brands with applicable apps for product families in CCTV Guru’s active online catalogue. UNV and Uniview are grouped together; Uniarch is listed separately. Brands without an applicable app for their listed products are excluded. Features and app names can change with model, firmware, phone operating system and country.

App downloads and shopping links: Use the links below to open the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing. Store availability, names and publishers can change. Choose the app for your exact device and installed system before signing in. Brand collection links let you browse the range; they do not mean every item uses every app listed. Where a current Google Play listing could not be verified, the official manufacturer download directory is labelled separately.

Customer app downloads are included for handover. A customer viewing app is not automatically an installer management platform. Tools described as web portals or desktop software are accessed through their official manufacturer platform, rather than a phone app-store listing.

Set up client access before you leave site

  1. Confirm the exact product models, hardware revisions, firmware, region and controller/VMS edition. Record which app and service the customer will use.
  2. Agree ownership and handover before binding equipment. Use a separate customer site/organisation and named technician accounts wherever supported.
  3. Obtain customer authorisation for remote maintenance and give only the permissions needed. Enable multifactor authentication where available; avoid one shared master password across clients.
  4. Separate live-view rights from configuration, door-release, user-management and firmware-update rights. Confirm licences, subscriptions and who pays renewals.
  5. Test live view, playback, notifications and any alarm/intercom functions on the customer’s phone, including over mobile data. Check that recording continues as intended.
  6. Document support scope, exports/backups, account recovery and how access will be revoked or transferred. Do not leave temporary installation access active without agreement.

Read the limits: “Supported” means the particular device, firmware and service must qualify. Dealer registration, local service availability or extra licences may be required. A networking portal manages the network; it does not automatically grant permission to watch a client’s cameras.

Akuvox

Installer platform: SmartPlus Cloud installer/community-management portal; SmartPlus installer role where provisioned

Deploy and maintain supported residential intercom sites, provision residents and hand over user access.

Customer uses: SmartPlus

Requirements and handover: Installer registration, the correct service region and compatible hardware are required. A resident account is different from an installer account.

AXIS

Installer platform: My Systems; AXIS Device Manager Edge/Extend; the installed Camera Station management tools

Manage authorised organisations, users, devices and system health; use the correct Edge or Pro deployment tools.

Customer uses: AXIS Camera Station Edge, or AXIS Camera Station mobile app for a server-based system

Requirements and handover: Check camera/recorder compatibility, AXIS OS and licences. Current Edge documentation requires the Windows client to create sites/add devices; do not promise full commissioning from a phone.

Bosch

Installer platform: A-Link Plus for Solution 2000/3000; Solution Link for Solution 6000; MyAlarm registered-installer tools where applicable

Commission the alarm, communications, users and subscribed remote service.

Customer uses: RSC+ for supported Solution 2000/3000; iFob Control/MyAlarm for supported Solution 6000

Requirements and handover: Confirm the exact panel and communicator. RSC+ is not the universal Bosch app; client alarm control is different from installer programming and professional monitoring.

Dahua

Installer platforms: DH Partner (Dahua Partner) and DoLynk Care

DH Partner: Dahua’s installer and dealer app brings together product information, technical documents, training, project design and installation/service tools. Dahua also documents access to DoLynk Care within the Partner app. Available functions, partner programmes and services depend on the account, region and supported equipment.

DoLynk Care: Use the supported site-management and maintenance workflow for customer sites, device health and authorised remote diagnostics/updates. DH Partner provides a broader partner workspace; the customer’s everyday viewing and control app remains DMSS. Follow the service and handover workflow available for the installed system.

Customer uses: DMSS

Requirements and handover: Customers grant service permissions through DMSS. Check device/firmware support; do not use the customer’s main password as the installer’s shared account.

Eve

Installer platform: Customer’s Apple Home or chosen Matter ecosystem; Eve tools for supported devices

Commission the exact device generation and demonstrate household access and automations.

Customer uses: Apple Home and Eve on Apple devices; Eve for Android for its supported Matter devices

Requirements and handover: No dedicated multi-client installer fleet portal was verified for these items. Use invitations/roles supported by the home platform, not one installer-owned household for unrelated clients.

EZVIZ

Installer platform: EZVIZ owner sharing; model-specific commissioning tools

Set up the customer’s cameras and permitted shared access.

Customer uses: EZVIZ

Requirements and handover: No general multi-customer installer maintenance portal was verified for these consumer models. Do not assume Hik-Partner Pro can manage EZVIZ because the brands are related.

Hikvision

Installer platform: Hik-Partner Pro (formerly Hik-ProConnect)

Customer/site management, commissioning, handover, supported health monitoring and remote configuration.

Customer uses: Hik-Connect

Requirements and handover: Use customer-authorised maintenance permissions and check ANZ device/service availability. Product-information access alone is not access to a customer’s footage.

HiLook

Installer platform: Hik-Partner Pro for supported HiLook devices

Commission, hand over and maintain compatible devices using the Hikvision partner ecosystem.

Customer uses: HiLook / HiLookVision; Hik-Connect where the exact system supports it

Requirements and handover: Check the model/firmware and region. HiLook support in partner product information does not guarantee every remote-maintenance function on every model.

IDIS

Installer platform: IDIS Center / IDIS Solution Suite; IDIS Cloud Manager for supported deployments

Use the appropriate VMS for multi-site viewing, users and system administration; evaluate Cloud Manager for supported cloud site management.

Customer uses: IDIS Mobile Plus for supported IDIS systems

Requirements and handover: A mobile viewing list is not a universal dealer-maintenance contract. Verify licences, architecture and current AU availability before offering a managed service.

IP-COM

Installer platform: ProFi Cloud and ProFi app

Organise supported network devices by project and perform remote monitoring/maintenance.

Customer uses: IP-COM ProFi app for compatible ProFi devices; local web interface for other managed models

Requirements and handover: Confirm cloud-supported model, controller mode, firmware and authorised project access before deployment.

ismartgate

Installer platform: ismartgate device administration and supported user-access controls

Commission the opener/controller, test status reporting and hand over user permissions.

Customer uses: ismartgate Access

Requirements and handover: No dedicated multi-client fleet service was verified. Do not confuse individual-user access management with an installer portal, or promise obsolete IFTTT integrations.

Reyee

Installer platform: Ruijie Cloud and Ruijie Reyee app

Project-based commissioning, supported remote diagnostics, alerts and project sharing.

Customer uses: Ruijie Reyee app for compatible devices

Requirements and handover: Verify the exact bridge/switch model, firmware, project roles and internet connection. Basic versus advanced cloud services can have different terms.

Synology

Installer platform: Surveillance Station CMS; DSM management tools

Manage authorised recording servers/sites, users and surveillance licences.

Customer uses: DS cam for Surveillance Station; NAS apps depend on the task

Requirements and handover: Check NAS performance, supported cameras, Surveillance Station version and licences. A NAS-management tool and DS cam have different purposes.

Teltonika

Installer platform: Teltonika RMS (web/mobile)

Manage compatible routers across sites, firmware/configuration and supported secure access to downstream equipment.

Customer uses: RutOS web interface; RMS where enabled

Requirements and handover: Separate customer/company permissions and verify each RMS service’s charges. Do not expose a camera/NVR directly to the internet just to simplify support.

Installer platform: VIGI Cloud VMS / Local VMS; Omada Controller MSP mode for supported systems

VIGI: sites, users and video-system maintenance. Omada: customers, network sites and delegated roles. Use family-specific apps for commissioning.

Customer uses: VIGI, Tapo, Omada, Deco, Tether or tpMiFi — choose by product family

Requirements and handover: Verify hardware/firmware, controller edition and AU service availability. Tapo/Deco/Tether sharing is not automatically a business MSP platform. Check the VIGI app’s Personal versus Enterprise mode.

Ubiquiti

Installer platform: UniFi Site Manager with delegated roles; UISP for supported ISP equipment

Manage authorised sites and permissions; maintain the relevant Network, Protect or Access application.

Customer uses: UniFi Protect, UniFi/Network, UniFi Access, UISP or AmpliFi — choose by family

Requirements and handover: Keep unrelated clients in appropriately separated sites/accounts. Check the console, application and device support; cloud availability and advanced options differ by product family.

Uniarch

Installer platform: UniTools Pro / UNV-Link Pro only where that Uniarch model is explicitly supported; otherwise its documented local tools

Commission and maintain the supported model using its documented pathway.

Customer uses: ArchLive (formerly Uniarch), subject to the device’s regional guide

Requirements and handover: A universal Uniarch client-fleet entitlement was not verified. Confirm the exact model and region before promising installer-cloud maintenance.

Uniview / UNV

Installer platform: UniTools Pro; older documentation calls the installer app UNV-Link Pro

Manage supported projects, commissioning, handover and customer-authorised operation/maintenance.

Customer uses: UniEase (formerly UNV-Link), EZView UNV, or the app specified for the exact system

Requirements and handover: Verify current regional app name and firmware. UNV-Box is a partner information/support app, not a substitute for an authorised client maintenance platform.

Verkada

Installer platform: Command and the Partner Management Tool in Verkada’s Partner Portal

Install within customer organisations and use approved partner access for customer/licensing information.

Customer uses: Verkada Command

Requirements and handover: Verkada marks the old Command Partner Tools as end-of-life from 1 July 2026. Use the new partner workflow, named accounts and customer-controlled sharing; remove temporary installation access after handover.

VIVOTEK

Installer platform: VPP Portal; VAST Security Station and VORTEX tools as appropriate

Manage associated customer sites/devices, supported system health and on-premise/cloud deployments.

Customer uses: iViewer for supported NVR/VAST systems; VORTEX for provisioned cloud systems

Requirements and handover: VPP is a partner workspace with permissions/customer associations. Confirm eligibility, regional service availability, exact NVR/VSS/cloud compatibility and licences.

Wi-Tek

Installer platform: Wi-Tek Cloud where the installed device is supported

Use supported remote network management and diagnostics; keep separate customer projects/permissions where offered.

Customer uses: Local web interface or Wi-Tek Cloud app on explicitly cloud-capable hardware

Requirements and handover: Verify the model/revision and available cloud permissions before promising multi-client management. A wireless link kit is not itself a video-recording app.

Choose the service you are actually offering

  • Commissioning: configure and test the system, then hand it over.
  • Remote maintenance: use an authorised platform to inspect supported device health and make agreed changes.
  • Video management: a VMS organises streams, recordings and user permissions; it may require its own server and licences.
  • Professional alarm monitoring: a separate agreed service, not a promise created by enabling phone push notifications.

Before an upgrade, confirm whether the customer can retain their existing app/account and whether any recorder replacement needs an ownership transfer or new licence. For mixed-brand installations, test required features individually; video compatibility is not proof of analytics, audio, door control or alarm compatibility.

Ask CCTV Guru to check the proposed client-management setup. Include models, firmware and the functions you intend to support. Do not send customer passwords, footage or personal account recovery details.
