OwlView ColorHunter — Full Colour 24/7
A 1/1.8″ sensor, OwlView ColorHunter with Wise-ISP and an ultra-fast F1.0 2.8 mm lens capture true full-colour 4K detail down to near-darkness, with smart warm-light LEDs to 30 m — so you record clothing, faces and vehicles in colour around the clock, not grainy black-and-white IR.
Smart AI Detection
On-camera analytics classify humans and vehicles with false-alarm filtering, plus line-crossing and intrusion detection to guard perimeters, gates and entries — ideal for homes, retail and busy commercial sites. 120 dB true WDR balances bright and shaded areas.
AI IQ Recorder — Find Events Fast
The NVR502-IQ runs AcuSearch, VCA Search and Search by Image: filter footage by people, vehicles and attributes, or drop in a reference image to surface matches across all channels — turning an hours-long review into minutes.
16-Port PoE & RAID Storage
Sixteen built-in PoE ports (240 W total) power and connect every camera over a single Cat6 run — no separate switch. Two SATA bays to 16 TB each support RAID 1 mirroring, with 4K HDMI + VGA output and 6 spare channels to grow into.
Do the cameras record in colour at night?
Yes. These are OwlView ColorHunter cameras — the 1/1.8″ sensor, F1.0 lens and ColorHunter with Wise-ISP deliver true full-colour 4K video 24/7, with smart warm-light LEDs to 30 m in dark scenes.
Is this kit NDAA compliant?
Yes. Both the Uniview UNV OwlView ColorHunter cameras and the NVR502-16B-P16-IQ recorder are NDAA Section 889 compliant, making this kit suitable for government, education and security-sensitive sites in Australia.
How many drives can it hold, and does it support RAID?
The NVR has two SATA bays taking up to 16 TB each (32 TB total) and supports RAID 1 mirroring, so critical footage can be written to two drives for redundancy. HDDs are sold separately.
How much recording time will I get?
It depends on your cameras and settings. With all 10 × 8MP cameras recording continuously, roughly 16 TB holds about five weeks; switching to motion/smart-event recording or fewer cameras extends that significantly (full table above).
How are the cameras powered?
Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 16 built-in PoE ports (240 W total) — no separate switch or power supplies.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The NVR has 16 PoE ports and you're using 10, so you can add up to 6 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
What is AcuSearch?
AcuSearch is the recorder's -IQ AI review tool. With VCA Search and Search by Image, it lets you filter footage by people, vehicles and attributes, or drop in a reference image to surface matches — so you find events in seconds.
Do the cameras have a microphone?
Yes. Each OwlView ColorHunter camera has a built-in microphone so you can capture audio alongside video (check local laws before recording audio).
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. Free P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
