Is the THC-T257-LMS an IP or analog camera?
It is an analog HD-TVI / Turbo HD camera. It connects to a HiLook or Hikvision DVR over coax cable — it is not a network/PoE IP camera and does not plug into an NVR or network switch.
What recorders does it work with?
Any Turbo HD / HD-TVI DVR. The single coax port is switchable between TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS, so it suits almost any analog recorder you already own.
What does 3K resolution give me?
3K is 2960 × 1665 — noticeably sharper than standard 1080p analog, keeping faces and number plates clearer when you zoom in on recorded footage.
What is Smart Dual-Light?
The camera runs infrared up to 40 m for discreet night monitoring and can switch to a warm white light up to 20 m for full-colour images when you need them.
Does it record audio?
Yes. A built-in microphone captures audio over the same coaxial cable (audio-over-coax), so you get sound without running a separate audio line — provided your DVR supports coax audio.
How is it powered?
By 12 VDC, drawing a maximum of 3.3 W. Being an analog camera it is not powered over the network — use a 12 VDC supply or a CCTV power distribution box.
Which lens should I choose?
The 2.8 mm gives a wide ~105° view for close, broad coverage; the 3.6 mm offers a tighter ~81° view that reaches a little further for entrances and driveways.
Is it tough enough for outdoors in Australia?
Yes — an IP66-rated metal housing with a −40 °C to 60 °C operating range handles full sun, dust and heavy rain.
Can I switch the signal type later?
Yes. The output is switchable between TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS, so if you change recorders you can match the camera to the new DVR.
Does it have white-light deterrence like ColorVu IP cameras?
It offers Dual-Light (IR plus warm white light) for full-colour night images, but it is a standard analog turret without an IP camera's active strobe-and-siren deterrence.
