16 Built-In PoE Ports
Power and connect up to 16 IP cameras directly from the recorder — no separate PoE switch needed. Expand to 32 channels total by adding cameras on your network for larger sites.
True 4K / 8 MP
Records and plays back footage at up to 8 MP (4K) resolution and outputs a crisp 4K image over HDMI, so every detail is captured and viewed in full clarity.
Efficient H.265+
Smart H.265+ compression slashes file sizes and network load versus H.264, letting you store far more days of footage on the same drives.
Dual HDD & ONVIF
Two SATA bays give plenty of room for long retention, while ONVIF support lets you mix in compatible third-party IP cameras alongside HiLook and Hikvision.
How many cameras can this NVR record?
Up to 32 IP camera channels in total. Sixteen connect directly to the built-in PoE ports, and the remaining channels can be added over your network.
Do the PoE ports power my cameras?
Yes. The 16 built-in PoE ports (IEEE 802.3af/at) deliver power and data to each camera over a single cable, so no separate PoE switch is required for those cameras.
Does it support 4K?
Yes — it records and plays back at up to 8 MP (4K) and outputs a 4K image over HDMI to your monitor.
How much bandwidth does it handle?
Up to 256 Mbps incoming bandwidth, comfortably enough to feed a full 32-channel system of high-resolution cameras.
How many hard drives can I fit?
It has 2 × SATA bays. Hard drives are sold separately — fit large-capacity surveillance-grade drives for longer retention.
Is a hard drive included?
No, the HDD is not included by default. Add a surveillance-rated drive sized to your camera count and retention needs.
Will it work with non-HiLook cameras?
Yes, it supports ONVIF, so compatible third-party IP cameras can be added alongside HiLook and Hikvision models.
How do I view footage remotely?
Use the free Hik-Connect mobile app or the iVMS-4200 desktop client to watch live and recorded video from anywhere.
What compression does it use?
H.265+ and H.265 (plus H.264+/H.264), which significantly reduce storage and bandwidth compared with older codecs.
Is it covered by an Australian warranty?
Yes — it ships as genuine Australian stock with a 3-year Australian warranty and local tech support.
