The 8-Channel AcuPick NVR5208 adds full attribute search — find a person or vehicle by colour, clothing and direction. The TiOC camera is AcuPick-native.
What's the difference between the two cameras?The TiOC camera adds active deterrence — a siren, red/blue strobe and two-way voice warning — ideal at the front entry. The Dual-Light camera gives continuous full-colour coverage. Both are 8MP 4K.
Can I add more cameras later?Yes — the 4-channel NVR4104 leaves 2 spare PoE ports; the 8-channel options (NVR4108 or AcuPick NVR5208) leave 6 spare ports for future cameras.

Is this kit really full colour at night?Yes. Smart Dual Light runs IR by default, then switches to a 30 m warm-white LED the moment AI detects a person or vehicle — recording full-colour 4K footage of the event before returning to IR.
Can I turn off the white light at night?Yes. Smart Dual Light has three modes — Smart Dual (IR by default, warm light only on AI detection), full-colour (warm light always on) and IR-only. Set IR mode for discreet black-and-white footage with no visible light.
What's the difference between the two NVR options?The NVR4216 is the standard 16CH AI recorder with Quick Pick. The NVR5216 adds AcuPick attribute search and higher bandwidth. AcuPick only runs on the 5-Series.
Does a hard drive come included?No — the NVR has two SATA bays but ships without storage. For sixteen 8MP cameras we recommend 2 × 16 TB surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple, available as an add-on.

Do the WizColor cameras have a visible light at night?Yes — WizColor uses a soft warm light to keep colour in darkness. The Starlight cameras use infrared instead, so they stay discreet with no visible glow.
Does a hard drive come included?No — the NVR has one SATA bay but ships without storage. We recommend a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD; around 4–6 TB suits six 5MP cameras for roughly a month of recording.

Does this kit include a hard drive?No — the kit ships without a drive so you can size storage to your site. Add a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD from the storage selector below and we'll fit it before dispatch.
Can I fit a larger hard drive later?Yes. The NVR has two SATA bays and supports up to 16 TB per bay (32 TB total), so you can add a second drive or upgrade for longer retention at any time.
Are these official Australian-stock models?Yes. Every component is genuine Dahua ANZ stock with regional firmware and a local Australian warranty backed by CCTV Guru — not grey import.
How are the cameras powered?Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 16 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies or powerpoints at the camera. Cat6 cabling is run on site and not included.
Can I expand past 12 cameras?Yes. The NVR has 16 PoE ports, so you can add up to 4 more cameras simply by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.

What does the "Z" in 3649H-ZAS mean?
"Z" stands for motorised zoom — this is the motorised vari-focal lens version of the 6MP TiOC 3.0 line. The fixed-lens equivalent is the 3649H-AS-PV-ANZ-S2. Both share the same chassis, AcuPick AI, TiOC 3.0 deterrence and Smart Dual-Light; the ZAS adds a 2.7–13.5 mm zoom lens with auto-focus you can drive remotely.
Is the motorised vari-focal version worth the extra cost?
If the site has long sightlines (driveways, perimeters, carparks) or if field-of-view requirements are likely to change (new fences, vegetation, signage), yes — the ability to remotely re-zoom from the app saves a service call every time. For a fixed shop entrance or a narrow doorway, the fixed-lens 3649 is the cheaper choice.
Why pick the 6MP ZAS over the 8MP ZAS?
Two reasons. First, cheaper storage — 6MP files are about 30% smaller than 4K, so the same NVR drive holds more days of footage. Can the camera pan and tilt remotely too, or just zoom?
The 3649H-ZAS is a motorised vari-focal turret, not a PTZ. The lens supports remote zoom and auto-focus, but the camera body itself does not pan or tilt remotely — the housing is aimed manually at install time. For a fully remote pan/tilt/zoom camera, look at a Dahua PTZ.
Do I need a special NVR for AcuPick?
