How much footage can it hold?
Recording time depends on how many cameras you run, their resolution and frame rate, and whether you record continuously or on motion. The estimates below assume 4 cameras at 4MP, H.265, ~4 Mbps continuous — a typical real-world load. Smart/motion-only recording, lower resolution or fewer cameras will extend retention significantly. Maximum capacity is a single SATA drive up to 24TB.
Approximate Recording Retention (4 × 4MP, H.265)
| 4 TB |
~24 days continuous · ~55 days motion-based |
| 8 TB |
~48 days continuous · ~110 days motion-based |
| 12 TB |
~71 days continuous · ~160 days motion-based |
| 16 TB |
~95 days continuous · ~215 days motion-based |
| 24 TB (max) |
~143 days continuous · ~320 days motion-based |
