Is there enough PoE power for all 4 cameras?
Yes. The G6 Turret draws ~9.25W per camera. 4 cameras = ~37W total — comfortably within the UNVR Instant’s 40W PoE budget, with ~3W headroom.
What HDD do I need?
Any compatible 3.5″ SATA surveillance-grade HDD. We recommend WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk for 24/7 recording reliability. The HDD is not included in this kit.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The UNVR Instant has 6 PoE ports — you can add up to 2 more cameras (subject to PoE budget). For larger systems, connect a separate PoE switch to the uplink port.
Can I view cameras remotely?
Yes. The UniFi Protect app supports remote viewing via the UniFi cloud relay — no port forwarding required. Remote access is free with a UniFi account.
Are the cameras suitable for outdoor use in Australia?
Yes. IP66 weatherproofing and a -20°C to 50°C operating range make the G6 Turret fully suited to Australian outdoor environments including coastal and high-UV areas.
