What HDD do I need?
Any compatible 3.5″ SATA surveillance-grade HDD. We recommend WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk for 24/7 recording reliability. The HDD is not included in this kit.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The UNVR Instant has 6 PoE ports and supports up to 6 × 4K cameras, so you can add two more (within the 40 W PoE budget). For larger systems, connect additional cameras via the uplink port to a separate PoE switch.
Can I view cameras remotely?
Yes. The UniFi Protect app supports remote viewing via the UniFi cloud relay — no port forwarding required. Remote access is free with a UniFi account.
Are the cameras suitable for outdoor use in Australia?
Yes. IP66 weatherproofing, IK04 tamper resistance, and a −30°C to 50°C operating range make the G6 Turret fully suited to Australian outdoor environments including coastal and high-UV areas.
