Does the G6 Dome require a UniFi Protect subscription?
No. UniFi Protect runs locally on a UniFi NVR or Dream Machine. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required.
What do I need to run the G6 Dome?
A UniFi Protect host — such as a UNVR, Cloud Key Gen2 Plus, or a UniFi Dream Machine Pro/SE/Pro Max/Wall — plus an 802.3af PoE switch to power the camera.
Is it suitable for outdoor use in Australia?
Yes. IP66 weatherproofing and a −20°C to 50°C operating range suit Australian outdoor environments including coastal, high-humidity, and high-UV areas.
What does IK10 mean?
IK10 is the highest impact-resistance rating under IEC 62262 — the housing withstands 20 joules of impact, equivalent to a 5 kg mass dropped from 400 mm. Ideal for vandal-prone areas.
