Can it be used outdoors?
The G5 Bullet is rated for partial outdoor use — suitable for sheltered outdoor locations such as under eaves, covered car parks, and protected wall mounts. It is not rated for fully exposed outdoor installation. For fully exposed outdoor use, consider the G5 Turret Ultra (IP66 rated).
What is the difference between the G5 Bullet and G5 Turret Ultra?
The G5 Turret Ultra has IP66 full weatherproofing, IK04 tamper resistance, and a wider 102.4° field of view — making it better suited for fully exposed outdoor locations. The G5 Bullet has a 3-axis adjustable mount and is ideal for indoor and sheltered outdoor use.
Does it record audio?
Yes. The built-in microphone records audio alongside video. Audio recording can be disabled in UniFi Protect settings for privacy compliance.
Can I view cameras remotely?
Yes. The UniFi Protect app supports remote viewing via the UniFi cloud relay — no port forwarding required. Remote access is free with a UniFi account.
