📖 Quick-Start Guide
Installation guide and documentation included.
⚠️ PoE Switch Required
A PoE switch or PoE injector is required to power the Cloud Key+ via Ethernet. Not included.
Does the Cloud Key+ require a subscription?
No. UniFi Network and UniFi Protect run fully locally on the Cloud Key+. Remote access via UniFi Site Manager is free with a UniFi account — no monthly fees.
Can it run UniFi Network and UniFi Protect at the same time?
Yes, but camera capacity is reduced when running both applications simultaneously. For maximum camera support, dedicate the Cloud Key+ to UniFi Protect only.
Can I upgrade the SSD?
Yes. The 2.5″ SATA SSD is user-upgradeable. Only drives that operate on 5V power are supported — drives requiring additional voltage are not compatible.
What is the difference between the Cloud Key+ and UDM-Pro?
The Cloud Key+ is a controller and NVR only — it has no built-in gateway or routing. The UDM-Pro is an all-in-one console with a built-in security gateway, 10G SFP+, and NVR HDD bay. Choose the Cloud Key+ if you already have a separate gateway.
Does it need a PoE switch?
Yes. The Cloud Key+ is powered via PoE (802.3af) from a PoE switch or PoE injector. Alternatively, it can be powered via a USB-C Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 compliant adapter (not included).
Can I view cameras remotely?
Yes. The UniFi Protect app supports remote viewing via the UniFi cloud relay — no port forwarding required. Remote access is free with a UniFi account.
