No. The Deco XE75 Pro connects to your existing modem or modem-router via Ethernet and replaces your Wi-Fi. It works with any Australian ISP and modem, including NBN connections. Your devices don't need to support Wi-Fi 6E to benefit — the system is fully backward compatible with Wi-Fi 4, 5, and older standards.
What is the 6 GHz band and why does it matter?
The 6 GHz band is a new frequency introduced with Wi-Fi 6E. It offers significantly more available channels and is free from interference from older Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5 devices. On the Deco XE75 Pro, it's used as a dedicated wireless backhaul between the two Deco units, keeping the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands free for your devices and maximising overall network performance.
How many Deco units do I need for my home?
