Yes. Connecting the two Deco BE85 units via their 10G Ethernet ports using Cat6A cabling provides the fastest and most stable backhaul connection, ensuring maximum performance across the mesh network.
Do both units need to connect to my modem?
No. Only one Deco BE85 connects to your modem or NBN gateway. The second unit connects via wireless backhaul or, for best performance, via the 10G Ethernet port as a wired backhaul.
Does the Deco BE85 2-Pack work with NBN?
Yes. The Deco BE85 is compatible with all Australian NBN connection types, including FTTP, FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, and HFC. For multi-gigabit NBN plans, connect your modem to the 10G WAN port on the primary unit for maximum throughput.
Do I need Wi-Fi 7 devices to benefit from the 2-Pack?
No. All existing Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 6E devices will connect and work normally. Wi-Fi 7 features such as MLO and 320MHz channels require Wi-Fi 7 client devices to be fully utilised.
