Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Deco BE65 Pro compatible with my existing internet connection in Australia?
Yes. The Deco BE65 Pro works with all major Australian ISPs including NBN (FTTP, FTTC, FTTN, HFC), as well as cable and 4G/5G fixed wireless connections. Simply connect the WAN port to your modem or ONT.
What is the difference between Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E?
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) introduces Multi-Link Operation (MLO), 4K-QAM, and wider 320 MHz channels on the 6 GHz band, delivering significantly lower latency and up to 4.8× faster theoretical speeds compared to Wi-Fi 6E.
How many Deco units do I need?
A 2-pack typically covers homes up to approximately 500 m². For larger properties or multi-storey buildings, a 3-pack or additional units are recommended. Each unit can be added via the Deco app.
Can I use the Deco BE65 Pro in Access Point mode?
Yes. The Deco BE65 Pro supports both Router mode and Access Point (AP) mode, making it suitable for deployments where an existing router or firewall is already in place.
Does it support wired backhaul between units?
Yes. Connecting Deco units via Ethernet (using the 2.5G or 1G ports) provides a dedicated wired backhaul, maximising throughput and reducing wireless congestion — recommended for installers in structured cabling environments.
Is the Deco BE65 Pro RCM certified for Australia?
Yes. The Deco BE65 Pro carries RCM certification, confirming compliance with Australian electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety standards.
