TELTONIKA · INDUSTRIAL WI-FI AND RS232
Connect industrial equipment through Wi-Fi and Ethernet
The Teltonika DAP142 is a compact industrial access point with an RS232 interface, two Ethernet ports and an integrated DIN-rail mounting bracket. It suits equipment cabinets and industrial networks that need Wi-Fi coverage alongside a serial connection. This listing supplies one DAP142000000 standard-package unit; the power supply is separate.
Where it fits
Industrial wireless coverage
Wi-Fi 4, mesh and fast-roaming functions support planned industrial wireless deployments. The manufacturer specifies up to 50 simultaneous connections; usable capacity depends on signal conditions and traffic.
RS232 integration
The serial interface provides an option for compatible legacy equipment. Verify the pinout, serial settings and application protocol rather than treating it as a universal serial adapter.
DIN-rail installation
The aluminium enclosure and integrated bracket suit a planned equipment-cabinet installation. Allow room for wiring, the antenna and access to the connectors.
Check the power connection first
PSU not included. The device accepts 9–30V DC through its three-pin connector, or compatible passive PoE through LAN2. The passive input uses Mode B and is not IEEE 802.3af/at/bt camera PoE. Confirm the voltage and pin assignment before connecting a power source.
Its Ethernet ports are 10/100Mbps. This is a Wi-Fi 4 industrial device, so select a different platform if the application needs Gigabit wired links, Wi-Fi 6 or a built-in mobile-data connection.

Setup and useful additions
- Confirm the network layout, serial-device requirements and wireless coverage.
- Choose a compatible DC supply or passive PoE source and verify the wiring.
- Mount the device with access to the connectors and fit the supplied antenna.
- Follow Teltonika’s quick-start guide, configure access credentials and wireless security, then test with the intended equipment.
Add a suitable 1m Cat6 Ethernet patch lead for a nearby wired connection. This cable does not convert a standard PoE output into a compatible passive supply. Power equipment, RS232 cabling, optional mounting kits and RMS services are separate; ask us to confirm the complete setup.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a cellular router?
No cellular modem or SIM connection is supplied. DAP142 adds industrial Wi-Fi and RS232 connectivity to a suitable existing network; internet access requires an upstream connection.
Can I use a standard camera PoE switch?
Do not assume compatibility. DAP142 uses 9–30V passive PoE on LAN2, Mode B. Teltonika states that this input is not compatible with IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt. Check the power source, pin assignment and voltage before connection.
Is the power supply included?
No. This DAP142000000 supplier configuration excludes the PSU. The standard package lists the access point, three-pin power connector, Wi-Fi antenna and quick-start documentation. Select a compatible power source separately.
Does it provide Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi 6?
No. It has two 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi 4. Choose it for its industrial mounting, serial interface and supported wireless functions rather than a Gigabit or Wi-Fi 6 performance requirement.
Will the RS232 port work with any serial device?
Confirm the connected device’s electrical interface, connector pinout, serial settings and intended protocol. RS232 is not interchangeable with RS485. Configure the relevant serial mode and test the application before deployment.
Does RMS require a subscription?
The device supports Teltonika RMS. Remote-management services, licences and any ongoing charges must be selected separately; this hardware listing does not include an ongoing RMS subscription.
