LOX · ELECTRIC STRIKE
A monitored electric strike designed for door preload
The LOX ES90M is a stainless-steel electric strike with an Australian footprint, designed to release under up to 25kg of keeper preload. It combines selectable lock behaviour with three monitoring functions for an appropriately designed access-control installation.
Key features
Preload release
Designed to operate with up to 25kg of preload pressure on the keeper.
Selectable fail mode
Field-selectable fail-secure, power-to-open operation or fail-safe, power-to-lock operation.
Three monitoring functions
Separate lock-status, latch-status and anti-tamper monitoring support compatible controller inputs.
10–30V DC operation
Multi-voltage input simplifies system design, while the power supply and controller must meet the published running and inrush requirements.
Why preload matters
Door seals, pressure differences and mechanical alignment can put load on a latch before a strike is released. The ES90M is intended for installations where that pressure needs to be considered. Its preload rating is a release capability, not permission to ignore door alignment or frame suitability.
Understand the monitoring signals
LSS reports the state of the internal locking mechanism. DSS detects whether the door latch is engaged within the keeper. ATS monitors removal or repositioning of the strike. To use these functions, the access controller needs suitable inputs and correctly configured wiring; a strike alone does not provide remote alerts.
Choose the required lock behaviour
Fail-secure operation uses power to open the strike; fail-safe operation uses power to hold it locked. The mode is field-selectable using the manufacturer’s procedure. Your installer should select the mode for the door’s egress requirements and the complete access-control design.
Power-supply and relay planning
The published running current is 350mA at 12V DC or 180mA at 24V DC. Allow for a one-second inrush of 1350mA at 12V or 680mA at 24V. Select the power supply, cable size and switching hardware for those requirements, cable distance and all other connected equipment. A reader or intercom output must not be assumed to power the strike directly.
Frame fit and optional extension lips
The standard strike lip is 10mm. The manufacturer’s manual lists ES20-EL15, ES20-EL25, ES20-EL50 and ES20-EL75 extension lips, plus ES20-REBATE as optional parts. Confirm the door and frame geometry with the installation drawing before selecting accessories. These parts are not included in this listing.
Installation checklist
- Check the door, frame, latch engagement and mounting clearances against the official drawing.
- Choose the fail mode required by the complete door design.
- Provide a suitable 10–30V DC supply with adequate inrush capacity.
- Plan controller inputs for the monitoring functions you intend to use.
- Confirm any fire-door approval against the complete door assembly and installation; a component rating alone does not approve every installation.
What is included
One LOX ES90M monitored electric strike with its standard 10mm lip. Access controller, power supply, exit button, extension lips, cabling and installation are separate.
System accessories and configuration help
A request-to-exit button may be required by the door design. The Hikvision DS-K7P02 is an indoor dry-contact button option for a compatible controller input. This is a system-planning suggestion, not a preconfigured direct-wiring kit. Ask CCTV Guru to check your controller, power supply and extension-lip requirements.

Frequently asked questions
Will this solve every sticking-door problem?
No. The strike is designed to release under specified preload, but latch geometry, frame fit, alignment and installation still need to be checked.
What do the monitoring outputs tell me?
LSS reports the internal locking mechanism, DSS reports latch engagement in the keeper and ATS detects strike removal or repositioning. A compatible controller and correctly configured inputs are required.
What power supply do I need?
Use a correctly designed 10–30V DC supply and switching arrangement. At 12V the manual specifies 350mA running and a 1350mA one-second inrush; at 24V it specifies 180mA running and a 680mA one-second inrush. Include the other loads and cable drop in the design.
Are extension lips included?
No. The standard lip is 10mm. The official manual lists optional ES20-series extension lips and a rebate kit; select them against the frame drawing.
Is it approved for any fire door?
Do not assume universal approval. Have the installer verify the relevant manufacturer documentation and compatibility with the complete door assembly and installation.
What warranty is supplied?
