Choose the right option
Both lens sizes are official Hikvision variants. The 2.8mm lens sees more of the scene; the 4mm lens gives a narrower view with more pixels on a distant subject.

How Smart Hybrid Light and Live-Guard work
Infrared mode
Keeps the scene discreet using infrared illumination, producing monochrome night video when visible white light is not wanted.
White-light mode
Uses visible white light to support colour imaging in darkness. The published illumination range is up to 30 metres.
Smart mode
Can remain on infrared and switch to white light when a configured human or vehicle event is detected, then return after the event.
Configurable deterrence
Audible warnings, the white strobe and other alarm linkages can be configured for suitable smart events rather than remaining permanently active.
Detection note: AcuSense filtering helps reduce irrelevant motion alerts, but it does not guarantee zero false alarms. Performance depends on mounting height, view, lighting, target size and configuration.

What you get
4K detail
Up to 3840 × 2160 at 25 fps on 50 Hz systems or 30 fps on 60 Hz systems, with H.265+ compression.
Low-light imaging
0.0005 lux colour sensitivity at F1.0 with AGC on, plus infrared and white supplementary lighting.
Clearer difficult scenes
130 dB WDR, BLC, HLC, 3D DNR, defog, electronic image stabilisation and distortion correction.
Two-way audio
Dual built-in microphones, built-in speaker, audio input and audio output support listening and talk-back when correctly configured.
Flexible recording
Record to a compatible NVR, NAS or microSD card up to 512GB. ANR can help recover footage after a temporary network interruption.
Smart events
Human and vehicle filtering for motion, plus line crossing, intrusion, region entry/exit, scene-change detection and face capture.

Compatibility and installation notes
-
Power: confirm the NVR port supports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ and has enough available budget for up to 17W. A 12V DC supply is the alternative.
- Confirm your recorder supports 8MP camera input, the required recording frame rate and H.265/H.265+.
- For two-way audio, smart events and alarm linkage, confirm the recorder and client software support the feature and run compatible firmware.
- Compatible Hikvision platforms include Hik-Connect, iVMS-4200 and HikCentral, subject to device and software versions.
- This page lists the /SL white-strobe version. Hikvision's /SRB red-and-blue-strobe family variant is separate.
Coastal locations: Hikvision's Australian datasheet describes moderate anti-corrosion protection and indicates typical use about 2km away from a coastline or in acid-rain areas. For direct sea spray or high-salinity sites, ask your installer for a camera and mounting system rated for that environment.
Compatible mounting accessories
Wall-mount bracket. Select the finish that matches the camera.
Pendant mounting option for suitable ceilings and structures.
Stainless-steel vertical pole mount; use with the required camera bracket.
Stainless-steel corner mount; use with the required camera bracket.
Bracket compatibility can depend on finish and mounting arrangement. Check the latest accessory datasheet or ask us before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose 2.8mm or 4mm?Choose 2.8mm for a wider overview near the camera. Choose 4mm for a narrower or slightly farther target area. Hikvision's published identification planning distances are 8m for 2.8mm and 10m for 4mm, subject to real-world conditions.
Does it record in colour all night? It can use white light to support colour imaging in darkness. Infrared mode produces monochrome video. Smart mode can use infrared normally and switch to white light for a configured event.
Does it eliminate false alerts? No. Human and vehicle filtering can reduce irrelevant notifications, but trees, animals, reflections, poor angles and incorrect sensitivity settings can still affect results.
Can I speak through the camera?Yes. It has dual microphones and a built-in speaker. Two-way audio requires compatible software or recorder support and correct configuration.
Can it record without an NVR?Yes. It supports microSD up to 512GB and NAS recording. An NVR remains useful for centralised recording, easier playback and longer retention.
Will it work with any PoE NVR?Not necessarily. Check for 8MP input support, compatible firmware and an IEEE 802.3at PoE+ port with sufficient power budget.
Is this the red-and-blue strobe model? No. This listing is the /SL version with white flashing light. The /SRB red-and-blue-strobe version is a separate Hikvision variant.
Is it suitable beside the ocean? It has IP67 and NEMA 4X protection, but the AU datasheet describes moderate corrosion protection and typical placement around 2km from the coastline. Direct marine exposure needs equipment designed for high salinity.
