The AXIS TC1603 Tile Bridge is the mount plate Axis specifies when an AXIS C1210-E or C1211-E Network Ceiling Speaker is going into a soft suspended ceiling. Mineral-fibre and plasterboard tiles were never designed to carry a point load, and a flush-mounted speaker will slowly sag or crack the tile around the cut-out. The tile bridge sits above the tile and distributes the speaker’s weight across the entire panel and onto the ceiling grid, so the tile stays flat and the speaker stays level. It measures 595 x 360 mm to span a standard ceiling grid module, works with a wide range of drop-ceiling systems, and is supplied in packs of two.

Why a tile bridge matters
A ceiling speaker looks weightless once it’s in, but the load has to go somewhere. Without a bridge, the whole mass hangs off the thin ring of tile left around the cut-out — the weakest part of the panel. Over months that edge crushes, the tile dips, and the speaker ends up sitting proud of the ceiling line. The TC1603 moves that load off the cut-out and onto the tile as a whole, resting on the grid rails.
