How loud is the AXIS C1310-E Mk II?Maximum sound pressure level is greater than 121 dB, with a 280 Hz – 12.5 kHz frequency response tuned for speech intelligibility rather than music. That is enough to be clearly understood well beyond typical carpark and yard distances.
What area does one speaker cover?The coverage pattern is 70° horizontal by 100° vertical measured at 2 kHz. It is a directional horn, so aim it down the area you want to address — a driveway, loading dock, fence line or forecourt — rather than expecting all-round coverage.
Does it need an external amplifier?No. The C1310-E Mk II is a complete all-in-one unit with a built-in 7 W Class D amplifier, pre-configured DSP and onboard message memory. There is no amp rack, mixer or audio matrix to buy.
What PoE budget do I need?It runs on IEEE 802.3af/802.3at Type 1 Class 3 PoE, drawing typically 2 W and a maximum of 12.95 W. Any standard 802.3af switch port or midspan is sufficient — no PoE+ or PoE++ required.
Can I talk through it live from my VMS?Yes. It supports one-way and two-way streaming with optional half-duplex echo cancellation, and integrates via VAPIX with AXIS Camera Station and partner VMS platforms for live talk-down as well as event-triggered pre-recorded clips.
Does it work with a phone system?Yes. SIP support (RFC 3261 with SRTP, SIPS and SIP TLS) lets it register to a VoIP PBX. Axis has verified compatibility with Cisco Call Manager, Cisco BroadWorks, Avaya, Asterisk and Grandstream, plus Webex and Zoom.
How do I know the speaker still works?Auto Speaker Test uses the built-in microphone to play and listen back to a test tone, then reports the result as an event. You can schedule it so faults are flagged remotely instead of being discovered during an incident.
Will it survive Australian weather?The casing is IP66 and NEMA 4X rated with an aluminium back can and stainless steel bracket, tested to MIL-STD-810G/810H for driven rain. Operating range is -40 °C to 60 °C at 10–100% RH condensing.
