Bright F1.5 aperture
F1.5 lets more light onto the sensor than a slower telephoto, which directly helps low-light performance and keeps shutter speeds usable on moving subjects at night.
Remote zoom and focus
The i-CS interface means field of view and focus are set from the camera’s interface over the network, which makes commissioning and later re-framing far quicker on high or awkward mounts.

What does i-CS actually mean?i-CS stands for intelligent CS-mount. The lens carries its own identification and optical data and communicates with the camera, which enables remote zoom and focus control plus camera-side optical corrections that a passive lens cannot support.
Which cameras is it compatible with?Axis lists the M1135 Mk II, M1137 Mk II, the P1385, P1387 and P1388 series, and the Q1656 series box cameras. A number of discontinued models including the P1375, P1377, P1378, Q1615 Mk III, Q1645 and Q1647 series are also compatible — the full list is in the Compatible Camera Models table above.
What sensor size does it cover?It is designed for image sensors up to 1/1.8" (Ø 8.9 mm) and supports camera resolutions up to 8 MP.
Does it work with infrared illumination?Yes. The lens is IR-corrected, so the focus point remains accurate when the camera switches to night mode and the scene is illuminated by infrared rather than visible light.
Can I adjust zoom and focus remotely?Yes, on a compatible Axis camera. The i-CS interface allows the field of view and focus to be adjusted from the camera’s interface over the network rather than by hand at the camera.
Is this the same as the 12–50 mm P-Iris lens?No, they are different products. This is the i-CS 9–50 mm F1.5 (01727-001). Axis also sells a Lens CS 12–50 mm F1.4 P-Iris 8 MP under part number 01690-001, which uses a P-Iris interface rather than i-CS and therefore does not offer i-CS remote control.
Will it fit a C-mount camera?It is a CS-mount lens. Axis box cameras in the compatible list use CS-mount, so no adapter is required for those models.
