Installation Overview — From Box to Powered Up
The PFA136 is one of the fastest Dahua accessories to fit — most installers have it on the wall and the camera powered up inside 10 minutes. The high-level sequence is below.
1. Mark the Three-Hole Pattern
Use the PFA136's base as a drilling template. Three ST4×25 self-tappers (supplied) into plastic anchors (also supplied) hold it on render, brick or fibre cement. For Colorbond or timber soffits, drive the self-tappers direct into the substrate — no anchor needed.
2. Drill the Cable Entry Hole
Drill the wall behind the box for the cable run-through. Thread the camera tail-cable through the wall and into the back of the box, then through the M20 gland on the side (or out the back if the install is internal/dry).
3. Bolt the Box to the Wall
Tighten the three ST4 screws. The aluminium body is rigid — test that the box doesn't flex against the wall before adding the camera.
4. Make the Cable Connections Inside the Cavity
Crimp or pre-terminate the RJ45 inside the cavity (the box is large enough for a coupler join, or for a pre-made tail join). The internal cavity also fits the supplied 12 V power lead or audio/alarm pigtails on cameras that include them.
5. Mount the Camera with 3 × M4 Screws
Line up the camera's circular base on the PFA136, drive the three M4×10 machine screws (supplied) with the included hex wrench. The wrench is small — clip it to your tool tray, it's the only tool that fits the recess.
6. Power Up & Aim
Connect the RJ45 to the PoE switch or injector; the camera boots in under 30 seconds. Aim the gimbal with the camera live (using DMSS on your phone or a test monitor) before locking the camera head. Optional: silicone-bead the perimeter of the box-to-wall join for a belt-and-braces seal on exposed outdoor installs.

Is the warm light always on at night?
It auto-switches on when ambient illumination drops below the Starlight+ sensor's threshold. The Starlight+ captures usable colour at low ambient levels before the warm LED needs to engage.
Will the warm light disturb my neighbours?
The warm LED is brightness-configurable in the camera's web UI — tune to suit your install. Most residential installs run at 40–60% brightness.
Does it require PoE+ or will standard PoE work?

Is this monitor IP or analog?It is a 4-wire analog monitor designed for Dahua analog villa intercom systems, not IP or 2-wire digital setups.

How many NVR channels does it use?
Four. Each sensor presents as a separate IP video stream, so the camera consumes four channels on the NVR. Plan NVR sizing accordingly — a single 8802 plus 12 fixed cameras fills 16 channels.
Does it require PoE+ or will standard PoE work?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at Class 4) is required, or a local 24 V AC supply. Standard 802.3af will not run the camera under full multi-sensor load — the camera draws up to 25.5 W.
