Installation Overview — From Box to Powered Up
The PFB203W is one of the fastest brackets in the Dahua catalogue to fit — most installers have it on the wall and the camera powered up inside 10 minutes. The high-level sequence is below; the official video at the top of this page walks the exact procedure.
1. Mark & Drill the Wall Pattern
Use the bracket's base-plate as the drilling template. Three or four ST4 self-tappers (supplied) into plastic anchors (also supplied) hold it on render, brick or fibre cement. For Colorbond or timber, drive the self-tappers direct into the substrate — no anchor needed.
2. Run the Cable Through the Arm
Push the camera tail (RJ45 head + power if used) up through the bracket arm before bolting the base-plate to the wall — easier than threading after. The rubber gasket seats around the cable as it enters the wall hole, keeping wind-driven rain out of the cavity.
3. Bolt the Bracket to the Wall
Tighten the four ST4 screws. Test the bracket is rigid before mounting the camera — a flex now means a flex with a camera on it.
4. Attach the Camera with 3 × M4 Screws
Line up the camera's circular base on the bracket head, drive the three M4 machine screws (supplied) with the included hex wrench. The wrench is small — clip it to your tool tray, it's the only tool that fits the recess.
5. Plug In & Power Up
Connect the RJ45 to the PoE switch or injector, the camera boots inside 30 seconds. Aim the gimbal with the camera live (using your phone or test monitor) before locking the bracket head.
6. Final Aesthetic Pass
Silicone-bead the perimeter of the base-plate against the wall on outdoor installs — it's belt-and-braces over the gasket and gives a clean, water-tight finish that survives the next 10 years of weather.

Is the PFB203W actually waterproof, and to what rating?
The bracket itself is not assigned an IP code (it's a passive mounting accessory, not a sealed enclosure), but the cable-entry hole is fitted with a rubber gasket that seals the wall penetration against wind-driven rain — the same gasket Dahua uses on its IP66/IP67 cameras. With the gasket fitted correctly and a silicone bead around the base-plate, you have a fully water-tight outdoor install.
Is the white bracket the same as the black bracket — just painted?
Yes. Same casting, same load rating, same mounting pattern, same datasheet, same screw kit. The only difference is the powder-coat colour. Choose by camera body colour, not by spec.
What's the maximum camera weight I can mount?
1 kg (2.2 lb). That comfortably covers every Dahua eyeball turret, every mini-dome, and most compact box cameras (350–700 g). Don't use it for PTZs, thermal cameras, or anything over 1 kg — those need a heavier bracket like the PFB220C or PFA152-E.
Does this fit Dahua bullet cameras (HFW series)?
No. Bullets have an integrated arm and don't use a separate wall-mount bracket — they bolt directly to the wall or to a junction box like the PFA130-E. The PFB203W is for cameras with a round base (HDW turrets, HDBW mini-domes).
Will it fit a Hikvision turret or eyeball camera?
Mechanically, no. The PFB203W's three-screw mounting pattern is sized for the Dahua HDW / HDBW base. Hikvision use a different bolt circle. For a Hikvision turret on a wall, use the Hikvision DS-1273ZJ-130-TRL or equivalent.
Can I mount it on a fence post or pole?
The PFB203W is designed for flat walls only. For pole, gutter or corner mounting, pair the PFB203W with a Dahua PFA152-E pole adapter, or use a dedicated pole-mount accessory.
Will the cable be hidden, or does it run on the outside?
