Does this kit record in colour at night?
The ColorHunter eyeball (IPC3636SS) records true full colour 24/7 down to 0.001 lux with warm-light LEDs. The EasyStar turret (IPC3616LE) uses Smart IR for crisp black-and-white night vision up to 30 m.
How does the active-deterrence camera work?
When the AI detects a person in a restricted zone, the ColorHunter eyeball flashes red & blue strobe lights and sounds a siren — and two-way audio lets you speak live through the app to warn intruders off.
Is this kit NDAA compliant?
Yes. Both Uniview UNV cameras and the NVR501-04B-P4-IQ recorder are NDAA Section 889 compliant, making this kit suitable for government, education and security-sensitive sites in Australia.
Does a hard drive come included?
No — the NVR has one SATA bay but ships without storage. We recommend a surveillance-grade Seagate SkyHawk or WD Purple HDD. See the retention table above to size your drive.
How much recording time will I get?
It depends on your cameras and settings. With both 6MP cameras recording continuously, roughly 2 TB holds about 3 weeks; switching to motion/smart-event recording extends that significantly (full table above).
How are the cameras powered?
Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable to one of the NVR's 4 built-in PoE ports — no separate power supplies or powerpoints at the camera.
Can I add more cameras later?
Yes. The NVR has 4 PoE ports and you're using 2, so you can add up to 2 more cameras by plugging them into the spare ports — no recorder upgrade needed.
What is AcuSearch and AcuTrack?
They're the recorder's -IQ AI review tools: AcuSearch filters footage by people and vehicles, and AcuTrack follows a target across cameras — so you find events in seconds.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. Free P2P cloud access through the Uniview UNV app and EZCloud lets you watch live and recorded footage from your phone or computer anywhere.
