Which smart home platforms does it work with?
As a Matter-over-Thread device, the Eve Door & Window works across Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings and Home Assistant. You simply add it to the platform of your choice.
Do I need a hub?
Yes. This Matter sensor needs a hub that provides both a Matter controller and a Thread border router — for example a HomePod, Apple TV, Google Nest Hub, Echo (4th gen) or a SmartThings Hub with Thread.
Is there a subscription or Eve account?
No. There is no subscription, no registration and no Eve cloud. All features are included and your data stays private.
How is it powered?
By a single replaceable ½ AA (ER14250 3.6 V) battery, which is included in the box. There is no wiring and nothing to recharge.
Indoor or outdoor?
Indoor only — ideal for doors, windows, cabinets and safety gates. It is not weatherproof for outdoor use.
How hard is it to install?
About a minute. The sensor and magnet attach with adhesive — no tools required — then you pair it using your platform's app or voice assistant.
