Dahua DH-SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1 — 8 MP + 4 MP 10× Starlight TiOC X-Spans Network Panoramic & PTZ Camera with Active Deterrence
The Dahua DH-SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1 is an X-Spans SDT3-tier dual-sensor TiOC PTZ — two cameras in one IP66 housing. The panorama channel is an 8 MP 1/2.8" CMOS with a 2.8 mm F1.6 lens spliced across a true 180° horizontal field of view (5376 × 1520 main stream). The detail channel is a 4 MP 1/2.8" Sony STARVIS™ CMOS PTZ with 4 – 40 mm F1.6 – F3.6 motorised optics, 10× optical zoom and 16× digital zoom — detecting targets at 500 m and identifying them at 50 m. Starlight low-light sensors push usable colour down to 0.005 lux on both channels. Dual-light arrays give the panorama head 30 m IR + 30 m white, and the PTZ head 70 m IR + 30 m white. Smart Tracking links the two channels so the PTZ automatically slews onto any target the panorama's WizSense AI flags. Face Detection on the Detail channel captures 6 attributes and 8 expressions per face. Active deterrence stacks red/blue light warning (three flash frequencies, 5 – 30 s duration) with 11 built-in sound alarms plus 10 importable customs, and a built-in speaker. Power is PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC 3 A in a chassis rated –30 °C to +60 °C with TVS 6000 V lightning / surge / voltage-transient protection. Built for Australian carparks, school grounds, freight yards, retail back-of-house, depot perimeters and council reserves where one head should replace two cameras. Backed by a 3-year Australian warranty through CCTV Guru.

See the Dahua TiOC PRO Platform in Action
Dahua's official TiOC PRO highlight — the same active-deterrence platform that runs on the SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1's PTZ head. Red/blue light warning, audible alarms, smart dual light and AI classification working together to challenge intruders the moment they're detected.
Why Choose the Dahua SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1
This is the entry-tier X-Spans build for Australian sites that want the dual-camera concept without the cost of the SDT4 25× tier. Below are the six reasons it's the right choice when 10× zoom and 100 Base-T network are enough.
180° Awareness, Always-On
The 8 MP panorama channel is permanently recording a true 180° splice at 5376 × 1520 — so when the PTZ is steered onto a target, you don't lose situational awareness of the rest of the scene like you would with a single PTZ alone.
10× Optical Zoom · 50 m Identify Range
The detail PTZ runs 4 – 40 mm motorised optics on a Sony STARVIS™ CMOS, with 16× digital boost. DORI Identify is 50 m at the tele end — enough to recognise faces across most carparks, school grounds and small-yard frontages.
Smart Tracking Without Operator Intervention
Auto Tracking Lite and IVS linkage let the panorama channel hand off targets to the detail PTZ — the PTZ slews, zooms and follows whatever the AI classifies as a person or vehicle, all on-device.
TiOC Active Deterrence on a Dual-Sensor PTZ
Red/blue strobe with three flash frequencies, an 11-sound audible alarm library and a built-in speaker — all mounted on a PTZ that can challenge an intruder anywhere in its 345° hemisphere.
Face Detection with Attribute Extraction
The detail channel captures face snapshots and extracts 6 attributes plus 8 expressions per detection. Includes face cutout with one-inch photo size — useful for visitor logs, NDIS sites and shopfront customer analytics where local privacy law permits.
Built for Outdoor — Lower Power, Lighter Mount
IP66 sealed, TVS 6000 V lightning + surge protection, –30 °C to +60 °C operating range. At 2.17 kg it's lighter than the SDT4 builds (3+ kg) so it fits on lighter wall and pole brackets where heavy housings won't.
Important Install Note — PoE+ Required
This camera draws up to 25 W with illuminator, heater, active deterrence and PTZ all active. It requires 802.3at PoE+, not standard 802.3af, or a local 12 VDC 3 A supply. The network port is 100 Base-T (not gigabit) — so plan the NVR's switch fabric and incoming bandwidth headroom around 100 Mbps per device. For cable runs approaching the 100 m Ethernet limit, plan for an 802.3at midspan injector or local DC.
AI & Smart Detection Capabilities
WizSense Edge AI
Dedicated AI chip running Dahua's deep-learning algorithms for human and vehicle classification. Reduces false alarms by filtering out animals, branches and shadows — only the right type of target generates an event.
Face Detection (Detail Channel)
Captures face snapshots from the 4 MP PTZ feed with quality optimisation. Extracts 6 attributes and 8 expressions per face. Modes: real-time capture, quality-first, and best-of-group selection.
SMD 4.0 Smart Motion
Smart Motion Detection 4.0 filters out animal and foliage motion at the edge — alerts only fire on people and vehicles. Slashes false-alarm volume on rural yards and bushland-adjacent sites.
Full WizSense IVS Library
Tripwire, intrusion, crossing-fence, loitering, abandoned/missing object, fast-moving, parking detection, people gathering and human/vehicle classification — with linkage tracking on people.
Auto Tracking Lite
When an IVS event fires on the panorama channel, the detail PTZ auto-locks onto the target, slewing and zooming to keep it framed for the duration of the alarm. No operator intervention required.
TiOC Active Deterrence Stack
Red/blue light warning with three flash frequencies (high/medium/low) and 5 – 30 s duration. 11 built-in sound alarms plus 10 importable customs. Volume 0–100%, play 1–10 times. Built-in speaker for on-device challenges.
PTZ Kinematics
0° to 345° Pan Range
Wide pan coverage with a 15° mechanical limit at the rear — covers the camera's full hemisphere from a single mount. Power-off memory keeps the position on reboot.
–10° to +90° Tilt
Detail tilt covers straight down to slightly above horizon. Useful for eave-mounted overhead patrol of a driveway or carpark.
80°/s Slew Speed
Manual and preset speed both reach 80°/s pan and 50°/s tilt — fast enough for IVS-triggered scene checks. Manual control bottoms out at 0.1°/s for fine framing.
300 Presets
Up to 300 stored positions. Configure the camera to cycle through key zones on idle, or auto-patrol after an IVS alarm fires. Power-off memory survives reboots.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Dahua SDT3E410-8P-MB-A-PV1 NDAA compliant?
No. Dahua is not certified under NDAA Section 889. If your project has an NDAA mandate (US federal, certain Australian government contracts, or critical-infrastructure tenders that follow the same standard), choose a NDAA-compliant brand from our range instead.
How many NVR channels does this camera use?
Two. The panorama channel and the detail channel each present as a separate IP video stream, so they consume two channels on the NVR. Use a 16-channel NVR if you want this camera plus 12–14 other fixed cameras on the same recorder.
Is this a TiOC camera?
Yes — the PV1 suffix is the TiOC active-deterrence indicator on X-Spans cameras. The detail PTZ head includes red/blue strobe with three flash frequencies, an 11-sound audible alarm library (with 10 custom upload slots) and a built-in speaker.
Does it support AcuPick attribute search?
No. AcuPick is reserved for the SDT4-tier X-Spans and other Xinghan-AI products. This SDT3 build runs WizSense with Auto Tracking Lite and Face Detection — strong AI for an entry-tier dual-sensor, but no attribute-based recorded-video search. For AcuPick, see the SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 step-up sibling.
What power does it need?
PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), not standard 802.3af, or 12 VDC at 3 A. Maximum draw is 25 W with illuminator, heater, active deterrence and PTZ all active. A standard 802.3af PoE switch will not run this camera.
What's the network speed?
The network port is 100 Base-T (100 Mbps), not gigabit. With two video streams (panorama + detail) plus audio and event data, total per-camera bandwidth fits comfortably within the 100 Mbps envelope, but plan your NVR's switch fabric headroom accordingly.
How far can the PTZ see at night?
The detail PTZ has 70 m IR + 30 m white light, plus Starlight low-light at 0.0005 lux B/W. DORI Identify distance at the 40 mm tele setting is 50 m. The panorama channel adds 30 m IR + 30 m white light across its 180° splice.
Can the camera follow a target automatically?
Yes — Auto Tracking Lite lets the detail PTZ lock onto any target the panorama channel's AI classifies as a person or vehicle. The PTZ slews, zooms and follows for the duration of the alarm.
Does it do face detection?
Yes — the detail channel captures face snapshots and extracts 6 attributes plus 8 expressions per face. Includes face cutout (one-inch photo). Modes include real-time, quality-first and best-of-group capture. NDIS and shopfront sites should check local privacy law before enabling face-attribute analytics.
Can I view the camera live on my phone?
Yes — the camera works with Dahua's free DMSS app on iOS and Android. Add the device with the QR code on the housing, sign in, and you get live view, two-way audio, motion alerts and recorded-footage playback from anywhere with internet. No subscription required.
