16 Built-In PoE Ports
Power and connect up to sixteen IP cameras directly from the recorder — one cable each, no separate switch or power supplies. A generous 150 W PoE budget supports a full bank of cameras.
Dual HDD Bays
Two SATA bays hold up to 8 TB each (16 TB total), so a 16-camera system can keep weeks of continuous 4K footage without constant overwriting.
160 Mbps & 4K Output
Up to 160 Mbps incoming bandwidth handles sixteen high-resolution streams, while HDMI drives a 4K display alongside a second VGA screen.
Motion Detection 2.0
On-board AI classifies human and vehicle events to cut nuisance alerts from rain, foliage and animals — smarter notifications and faster searching.
How many cameras can it run?
Up to 16 IP cameras, each connected directly to one of the 16 built-in PoE ports.
What's the total PoE budget?
The 16 PoE ports share a total budget of 150 W, enough to power a full bank of standard HiLook cameras.
What HDD size can I fit?
Two SATA hard drives up to 8 TB each — 16 TB total. Surveillance-grade drives are recommended; HDDs are not usually included unless stated on this page.
Does it support AcuSense AI?
It runs Motion Detection 2.0 with 4-channel human/vehicle analysis to filter false alarms, but it is a C-Series recorder without full NVR-side AI. For deeper AI choose a K-Series model.
What's the maximum recording resolution?
Up to 8 MP (4K) per channel, with H.265+ compression to keep file sizes down.
Which cameras are compatible?
Any HiLook or Hikvision IP camera, plus ONVIF-compatible third-party cameras.
Does it need a separate switch?
No. The 16 PoE ports supply data and power over a single cable, so no extra switch or power supplies are needed.
How do I view it remotely?
Through the free Hik-Connect mobile app or the iVMS-4200 desktop client for live view, playback and notifications.
