Dahua DH-SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 — 8+4 MP 25× X-Spans Panoramic TiOC PTZ Camera with Xinghan AI & Active Deterrence

The Dahua DH-SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1 is an X-Spans series multi-sensor panoramic PTZ — two cameras inside one IP66, surge-protected housing. The overview channel is an 8 MP 1/2.7" CMOS with a 2.8 mm F1.4 lens spliced across a true 180° horizontal field of view, capturing the entire scene at all times. The detail channel is a 4 MP 1/2.8" CMOS PTZ with 5 – 125 mm F1.6 – F3.6 motorised optics, 25× optical zoom and 16× digital zoom — capable of detecting a target at 2500 m and identifying it at 250 m. Starlight low-light sensors push usable colour down to 0.005 lux. Dual-light arrays give the panoramic head 30 m IR + 30 m white, and the PTZ head 100 m IR + 50 m warm-light reach.

This camera is built for Australian sites where you would otherwise install two cameras — large carparks, school grounds, freight yards, transport hubs, depots, mining laydowns and council reserves — and want one head that maintains constant 180° awareness while a second head slews onto whatever the AI flags. Smart Tracking links the two channels so the PTZ automatically zooms onto any target the overview detects, then keeps tracking after the target leaves the panoramic FOV using Dahua's X-Spans relay tracking. Edge AI runs the new Xinghan Large-Scale AI Models with WizSense perimeter protection, SMD 4.0 and AcuPick. Active deterrence stacks red/blue light warning with 11 built-in alarms (plus 10 custom uploads) and a built-in speaker. Power is PoE+ (802.3at) or 12 VDC 3 A. Backed by a 3-year Australian warranty through CCTV Guru.

Why Choose the Dahua SDT4E425-8P-GB-APV1

Buying a panoramic PTZ replaces two traditional cameras with one head. Below are the six reasons this specific X-Spans build is the one Australian integrators ask for when they want the dual-camera concept to actually work in the field.

180° Awareness, Always-On

The 8 MP overview channel is permanently recording a true 180° splice — so when the PTZ is steered onto a target, you don't lose situational awareness of the rest of the scene.

25× Optical Zoom · 250 m Identify Range

The detail PTZ runs 5–125 mm motorised optics. DORI identify distance is 250 m at the tele end — long enough to read clothing and recognise faces across an entire carpark.

Smart Tracking Without Operator

WizTracking, relay tracking and linkage tracking work together so the PTZ automatically slews, zooms and follows whatever the overview channel's AI classifies as a person or vehicle.

TiOC Active Deterrence on a PTZ

The full TiOC stack — red/blue strobe, 11-sound alarm library and built-in speaker — mounted on a 25× PTZ that can challenge an intruder anywhere in its hemisphere.

Xinghan AI on the Edge

Xinghan Large-Scale AI Models bring transformer-architecture AI to the edge — joint inference between small and large models lets a single camera classify, track and respond on-device.

Built for Harsh Australian Outdoor

IP66 sealed, TVS 6000 V lightning + surge + voltage-transient protection, and rated –40 °C to +65 °C. From Alpine highway sites through to the Pilbara.

Important Install Note — PoE+ Required

Draws max 25 W. Requires 802.3at PoE+, not 802.3af. For runs approaching 100 m Ethernet limit use a local 12 VDC 3 A supply or a quality 802.3at midspan injector.
