New S2 Generation · 16-Channel · 32 MP · 8K · 200 W PoE
16CH WizSense S2 NVR
The Dahua DHI-NVR5216-16HP-AI/ANZ-S2 is the new-generation 16-channel, 2-HDD WizSense network video recorder for Australia and New Zealand. It combines 32 MP camera support, 8K HDMI output, up to 448 Mbps bandwidth, 16 built-in PoE+ ports with a 200 W total PoE budget, and upgraded recorder-side AI in a full 1U chassis.
Compared with the previous DHI-NVR5216-16P-AI/ANZ, the S2 revision delivers higher throughput, twice the recorder-side face-detection and perimeter-protection capacity, twice the SMD Plus capacity, a larger face database, more PoE power and support for larger hard drives. It is designed for demanding commercial, industrial, retail and multi-site CCTV systems that need fast forensic search and room to grow.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main improvement over the old NVR5216-16P?
The S2 increases AI-off bandwidth from 384 to 448 Mbps, upgrades HDMI from 4K to 8K, raises recorder-side face detection from 2 to 4 channels, perimeter protection from 4 to 8 channels, SMD Plus from 8 to 16 channels, PoE capacity from 130 W to 200 W, and maximum disk size from 16 TB to 20 TB per bay.
Does AcuPick require Dahua AI cameras?
The recorder can run AcuPick on 4 channels itself. Compatible Dahua AcuPick cameras extend camera-side performance across all channels and provide the richest person and vehicle search attributes.
Can it power sixteen PoE cameras?
Yes, provided the combined load stays within 200 W and no individual port exceeds 25.5 W. Ports 1–8 also support Dahua ePoE.
What is the maximum internal storage?
Two SATA bays support up to 20 TB per drive, giving a stated maximum of 40 TB, subject to drive compatibility and environmental conditions.
Will it work with third-party cameras?
Yes. It supports ONVIF 25.06 Profiles T, S, G and M. Standard recording is broadly compatible; advanced Dahua AI features depend on compatible Dahua cameras.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. The recorder supports P2P remote access and Dahua mobile viewing on iOS and Android.
