Privacy addendum
Scope and operator
CCTV Guru Pty Ltd operates Social Studio as the Social Posts tool inside its Shopify admin app, CCTV Guru Tools. Authorized CCTV Guru operators use it within Shopify to prepare social artwork, captions and campaign drafts, connect business social accounts, and review available publishing actions. Secure account-authorization pages and hosted backend services support the Shopify tool. This addendum supplements CCTV Guru's general Privacy Policy for this business tool. It does not change the shopping app's data practices.
Information processed
Studio processes the social account or channel identifiers and display names returned by a platform, the account selected by the operator, granted permissions, OAuth access and refresh tokens, and developer client credentials entered in its private settings. It also stores campaign captions, artwork references, drafts and delivery records, including status, platform post identifiers, live links, timestamps and error information. The relevant platform processes sign-in and consent under its own policies.
Purpose and current permissions
Account information and tokens are used to verify the selected account, show its connection status, renew authorized access where supported, and carry out supported actions the operator reviews and confirms. Connecting an account does not publish content.
YouTube requests youtube.readonly to verify the operator's channel. Operators may separately authorize youtube.upload to enable video publishing. Before confirming an upload, the operator reviews the selected channel, video, title, description, visibility, audience and required disclosures. Selecting or previewing a file does not upload it. After final confirmation, the video passes through the hosted service to Google's YouTube API; Studio does not retain the selected video as a draft file. YouTube stores and makes the video available according to the selected visibility and its own policies.
TikTok currently requests user.info.basic to verify an authorized account's identity and display name. Its connection is being configured in a developer sandbox. Studio does not currently upload or publish TikTok videos.
Facebook, Instagram and X publishing are separate supported workflows. LinkedIn company publishing depends on the required platform approval and permissions. Each available publishing action requires review and confirmation.
Social platform authorization data is not used by the implemented connection flows for advertising, sale, or AI model training.
Storage and service providers
Developer secrets and social authorization tokens are encrypted before database storage. Studio uses ChatGPT Sites hosting and storage; its Shopify integration uses CCTV Guru's Render-hosted backend and Shopify for the embedded app experience. The relevant social platform receives the API requests needed for an authorized operation. Uploaded artwork intended for image publishing is made available through a public image URL so the destination platform can retrieve it; operators must not upload confidential material as social artwork.
Retention, disconnecting and deletion
Local disconnect removes the active account connection and pending authorization state. Saved developer app settings, drafts, artwork and delivery history are retained; disconnecting does not remove posts already published on a platform or revoke access in the platform's own account settings. Operators can also revoke Studio access in the social platform's connected-app settings. Contact team@cctvguru.com.au to request access, correction or deletion of Studio records and saved app settings. Retained provider records and hosting backups are subject to the applicable service's retention processes. No fixed automatic deletion period is represented by this addendum.
Terms addendum
The Social Posts tool inside Shopify is for authorized CCTV Guru business use. Operators must have authority to connect each account and use the artwork, captions and other content they supply. They must review the selected account, final artwork, caption and destination before confirming a supported publishing action.
An account connection does not guarantee publishing availability. Platform approvals, granted permissions, account eligibility, quotas and API availability determine which actions can be offered. YouTube video publishing requires the additional upload permission and final operator confirmation. TikTok remains an account-verification connection only; TikTok uploads and direct publishing are unavailable. Sandbox or test access may expire or require reconnection.
Delivery results and live links appear in History when the platform returns them. A timeout or unknown result is not confirmation that nothing was published. Check History and the destination platform before retrying. Editing a saved campaign does not automatically update a post already published on a platform.
The relevant platform's terms and policies continue to apply. Contact team@cctvguru.com.au for Studio support or policy questions.
