For buyers who want genuine 8 MP / 4K AcuSense recording at the lowest possible price, this is the camera. Same Hikvision Australia warranty, same 4K resolution, same AcuSense human + vehicle classification — just an older generation that doesn't have ColorVu 24/7 colour or the white-strobe + speaker Live-Guard package of the newer G3. The new G3 generation (DS-2CD2387G3-LIS2UY/SL) replaces this product with ColorVu 3.0 24/7 colour, Smart Hybrid Light, and a /SL Live-Guard package (white strobe + 110 dB speaker + dual mic). For sites that need those features, step up to the G3. For sites that just need a solid 4K AcuSense IR camera at the lowest possible price, this G2 is still a genuinely good buy — and on clearance, it's at a price that's hard to beat for what you get. Genuine 4K Resolution at 8 MP Same 3840 × 2160 (8 MP) sensor used across the entire Hikvision 4K range. Same pixel density per scene as the newer G3 — what you give up is the ColorVu sensor architecture, not raw resolution. AcuSense — Same AI as Current Range On-camera deep-learning classifies every motion event as human, vehicle or other. Frequently Asked Questions Is this really 4K, or just 8 MP?Yes, it's genuine 3840 × 2160 (4K UHD) at 8 MP. Recording happens at 20 fps at full 4K (vs 30 fps on the current G3 generation) — perfectly usable for surveillance, but step down to 4 MP if you need 30 fps for fast-motion scenes. Why is this on clearance?Hikvision has released the G3 generation with ColorVu 3.0, Smart Hybrid Light and the Live-Guard /SL package. We're clearing remaining G2 stock to make room for the new range. The G2 is a genuinely good camera at the clearance price — it's just one generation behind. What's the difference between G2 and G3?The G3 adds ColorVu 3.0 (24/7 colour at 0.0005 lux), Smart Hybrid Light (white + IR blend), the /SL Live-Guard package (white strobe + 110 dB speaker + 2-way audio), NEMA 4X anti-corrosion housing (Y suffix), F1.0 super-aperture lens, and 130 dB scene-adaptive WDR. If those features matter, choose the G3. If you just need 4K + AcuSense + IR at the lowest price, the G2 clearance is the right call. What does "-IU" mean in the SKU?I = built-in IR illuminator. U = built-in microphone for audio recording. So DS-2CD2386G2-IU = 8 MP G2 turret with IR + built-in mic. (The "-ISU" variant adds alarm I/O on top, but we stock the IU.) Does it run on a standard Hikvision NVR PoE port?Yes — PoE 802.3af (standard PoE, ~7.5 W), the lowest PoE class. Runs on any Hikvision NVR's built-in PoE port, no special supply needed. Can I install this on a coastal site?Honestly — not directly exposed. This camera does not have anti-corrosion housing (no -Y suffix variant in this G2 family). For coastal Australian installs within 2 km of saltwater, choose the G3 with NEMA 4X (-Y suffix) instead, or mount the G2 under deep cover (eave, undercover carport, sheltered porch). How does AcuSense filter false alarms?AcuSense runs deep-learning classification on the camera itself — same engine as the current G3. It identifies whether motion is a human, a vehicle or "other" (animals, foliage, rain, headlight glare). Only human / vehicle detections trigger alerts. Typical sites see ~90 % fewer false alerts than motion-only cameras. How long do I have to buy this at clearance pricing?Only while stock lasts — no further inbound stock once these are gone. There's a finite number of units remaining at the clearance price. Order now if it fits your project. A 1/1.8" progressive CMOS paired with an ultra-fast F1.0 aperture lens delivers 0.0005 lux colour sensitivity — bright, low-noise colour imaging in near-total darkness before the IR even switches in. AcuSense H/V classification filters false alarms on animals, foliage and precipitation so your NVR only pushes notifications on actual humans and vehicles, and a built-in microphone records synchronised audio for a full evidentiary picture on every recording. Available in 2.8 mm wide-angle or 4 mm narrower-view lens, in White or Black finish. Backed by 3-year Australian warranty from CCTV Guru. The 2.8 mm wide-angle covers a broader area with a shorter effective distance; the 4 mm narrower-view gives you more detail at longer range with a tighter frame. Both are F1.0 fixed-focus with a 30 m Smart IR illuminator built in. Lens Comparison — 2.8 mm vs 4 mm 2.8 mm Wide Angle (White SKU: DS-2CD2366G2H-IU · Black SKU: DS-2CD2366G2H-IU-BLK) Horizontal FOV 114.8° · Vertical 58° · Diagonal 137°. Best for front doors, small yards, garage bays, side paths, shopfront awnings, apartment entry vestibules — anywhere you need a broad scene in a single frame from a close mounting position. 4 mm Narrower View (White SKU: DS-2CD2366G2H-IU-4MM) Horizontal FOV 94° · Vertical 51° · Diagonal 114°. Best for medium-length driveways, side fences, loading dock views, alleyways — the extra reach gives you identification-level detail at 10-15 m where the 2.8 mm would only give a body-in-frame. Rule of thumb: for indoor rooms, front-door porches, garages and shopfronts, go 2.8 mm. For a residential driveway from 5-15 m away, go 4 mm. Not sure? The 2.8 mm covers more scene and you can always digitally crop in on 6 MP footage. What Makes This Camera Worth Choosing F1.0 Aperture — Almost 3× the Light of an F1.6 Lens The DarkFighter H-suffix models get a genuine F1.0 aperture — that's 2.5× more light gathered per frame than a typical F1.6 camera. Result: 0.0005 lux colour sensitivity — you keep bright, natural colour in scenes where a standard camera has already switched to monochrome IR. AcuSense — Human / Vehicle Classification Onboard deep-learning classifier ignores animals, wind-blown foliage, rain and headlight flare. Your NVR only pushes notifications when the camera actually detects a person or vehicle — typical false-alarm reduction is 80-90% vs a plain motion camera. 120 dB True WDR Real hardware Wide Dynamic Range — handles the classic Australian problem scenes: sunlit garage door with dark interior behind, driveway staring into afternoon sun, front verandah in harsh backlight. Both bright and dark regions of the frame stay legible. Built-in Microphone Records synchronised audio with the video — useful for capturing spoken threats, arguments at the front door, delivery confirmations, and general context on incidents. No separate mic cable to run — it's inside the camera. 30 m Smart IR Built-in Smart IR illuminator adjusts intensity + angle automatically to avoid IR washout on close targets (no white blob when someone stands 2 m from the camera) while still lighting the far end of a driveway. H.265+ Smart Compression Reduces bandwidth and storage by ~50 % vs H.265 alone. A single 6 MP stream at 25 fps uses ~4-6 Mbps with H.265+ — a 4 TB HDD comfortably holds ~30-45 days of recording across 4 cameras. Where This Camera Belongs — Real Australian Use Cases Front Doors & Porches 2.8 mm wide-angle covers the doorway, porch and approach path in a single frame from a close under-eave mount. Built-in mic captures conversation with visitors — pair with the recording NVR and you have full evidentiary audio + video. Residential Driveways & Front Yards 4 mm variant covers a typical AU suburban driveway from house corner to street. Reads number plates at 10-15 m under IR. AcuSense filters out cars driving down the street so you only get notifications when someone actually enters the driveway. Garages & Side Paths 2.8 mm indoors — one camera covers the whole garage from a corner-of-ceiling mount. Also excellent for narrow side paths where a wider FOV catches the full corridor and both walls. Shopfronts & Small Commercial 2.8 mm wide-angle covers the counter, aisle and entry in one frame. Built-in mic captures customer interactions for training and dispute resolution (subject to signage and privacy law compliance). Body Corp Common Areas Lobbies, letterbox banks, bin rooms, gym entries — 2.8 mm covers the full space. Black finish blends into modern architectural facades; white for older render and weatherboard buildings. IP67 rated for accessible ground-floor and outdoor common area installs. Backyards & Rear Access 4 mm for longer rear yards where you want to catch someone hopping the back fence at 10-15 m. AcuSense stops the camera from waking up every time a possum or cat walks through the frame. Detection Range (DORI) Guide DORI Distances — 2.8 mm vs 4 mm Lens DORI Level 2.8 mm  |  4 mm — What it means Detect 64 m · 77 m — enough pixels to see a person exists in the frame Observe 25 m · 30 m — enough to describe clothing, general behaviour Recognise 12 m · 15 m — enough to recognise a known individual Identify 6 m · 7 m — enough to identify a stranger from footage Practical takeaway: if you want footage that police can use to identify an unknown intruder, you need them within ~6-7 m of the camera. Beyond that, footage is useful for recognising known faces but not for identifying strangers. View AcuSeek NVR → Frequently Asked Questions What does the "H" in G2H mean? The H suffix denotes Hikvision's DarkFighter-enhanced variant of the standard G2 model — larger 1/1.8" sensor, F1.0 aperture and improved image processor. It gets ~2.5× more light than a standard AcuSense camera at the same price tier. Worth the small premium for any night-time use case. Why is Black only offered in 2.8 mm?Hikvision's supply of the black-finish version is limited to the 2.8 mm SKU (DS-2CD2366G2H-IU-BLK). If you need a 4 mm in black, contact us — we sometimes have alternative black-finish Hikvision turrets in the same 6 MP range that might suit. Does it need a special PoE switch? No — PoE 802.3af Class 3 (max ~6 W). Runs on any standard Hikvision NVR PoE port or generic 802.3af PoE switch. Also accepts 12 VDC for legacy or off-grid installs. Is the built-in microphone always recording?Yes, when audio recording is enabled on the NVR. You can also configure the microphone to trigger an alarm on audio exception (sudden loud noise, breaking glass) even when video motion doesn't fire. Note: recording audio at some AU workplaces requires signage and staff notification — check your obligations. Does AcuSense really cut false alarms?Yes — typical reduction is 80-90% vs a motion-only camera. The camera classifies the target as human, vehicle or "other" before firing an alarm. Rain, foliage, insects, animals and passing headlights get filtered out. Can I integrate with a non-Hikvision VMS?Yes — the camera speaks ONVIF Profile S, G and T and RTSP. Compatible with Milestone XProtect, Genetec, Exacq, Immix and most other AU VMS platforms. AcuSense metadata is only fully indexed on Hikvision NVRs. What's the difference between this and the DS-2CD2367G3-LIS2UY/SL?The G3 sibling is Gen 3 — adds Smart Hybrid Light (integrated white LED + strobe), Live-Guard active deterrent and NEMA 4X anti-corrosion housing. The G2H turret you're looking at is the cost-effective workhorse — same AcuSense AI, same 6 MP resolution, no active deterrent. If you want proactive strobe + audio warnings, look at the G3. If you want reliable evidence recording at a lower price, the G2H is the right choice. Hikvision Hikvision DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 — TandemVu 6MP Panoramic + 4MP 42× DarkFighter 2.0 PTZ Speed Dome with 300m IR (NEMA 4X)

The panoramic channel holds the full situational view at all times while the PTZ channel zooms, pans and tilts to follow incidents — handing off automatically via Auto-Tracking 3.0 with linked tracking capture. DarkFighter 2.0 on the PTZ delivers 0.0003 lux colour; the panoramic delivers 0.0005 lux colour at F1.0. Long-range night surveillance is covered by a built-in 300 m IR illuminator on the PTZ plus 30 m white-light supplement on the panoramic. The -Y suffix on this Australian-stocked SKU denotes Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated for coastal Australian sites within roughly 2 km of the shoreline and for areas exposed to acid rain. This is the camera Hikvision builds for the situations where a conventional PTZ "loses the room" the moment it zooms in — large transport hubs, mining haul roads, port aprons, council CBDs, perimeter walls, scenic-spot overwatch, large industrial campuses, public squares and stadium concourses. With the panoramic channel constantly recording the full 190° scene, an operator (or the AI engine) can investigate any detected event close-up via the PTZ without ever losing the wide view. The bullet channel keeps situational context — who else is in frame, where the target came from, where they're heading — while the 42× PTZ captures the face, the plate, the badge or the action close-up. Cyber-hardened with TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 Level 2), IP67/IK10 rated and powered via PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) or 36 VDC. Australian stock, 3-year Australian warranty. The two views are streamed from a single IP address and recorded against a single VMS licence. Why Choose a TandemVu PTZ over a Single-Sensor PTZ A conventional PTZ has one fundamental compromise: the moment you zoom in, you lose the wide situational view. If something is happening at the other end of your site, no one is watching. TandemVu fixes this by adding a full-time 6 MP 190° panoramic channel next to the 42× PTZ — the bullet keeps recording the entire scene while the PTZ goes hunting. For high-value, high-coverage sites, this is the difference between an investigation that succeeds and one that comes up short. 6 MP Panoramic — Never Loses the Room 1/2.5" CMOS · 3680 × 1656 (6 MP) · 2.8 mm · F1.0 · 190° horizontal FOV · tilt-adjustable 12°-24°. The bullet records the full scene continuously — even while the PTZ is zoomed in on a specific target at 42×. 4 MP 42× PTZ — Long-Range Detail 1/1.8" CMOS · 2688 × 1520 (4 MP) · 6–252 mm motorised · 42× optical + 16× digital · F1.3 · DarkFighter 2.0. PTZ DORI Identify 296.6 m at full telephoto. Reads faces and plates at distances a single-sensor camera cannot reach. Auto-Tracking 3.0 + Linked Tracking Capture The bullet detects a human, vehicle or armed face anywhere in the 190° scene. The PTZ automatically slews to the target, locks on, and follows it across the site — capturing close-up evidence frames the whole time, while the bullet continues recording the wide view. One IP, One Licence, One Cable The two channels stream from a single IP address over a single Cat 6 cable. One VMS / NVR licence covers both — half the licence cost of running a separate bullet plus a separate PTZ at the same site. 300 m IR + 30 m White Light Built-in IR illuminator on the PTZ reaches up to 300 m at full telephoto. The panoramic channel has its own 30 m white-light array for the close-up wide scene — also usable as audio-visual deterrent (flashing light + audible warning). 120 / 150 dB AWDR — Both Channels Bullet at 120 dB, PTZ at 150 dB AWDR. Both channels handle backlit gateways, low-sun port aprons, mine-pit edges, mixed sodium / LED city lighting and stadium floodlights without burning out faces or losing detail in shadows. Important Install Note — PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) or 36 VDC The DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 is a high-power dual-sensor PTZ. It runs on either PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (42.5-57 V, 1.76 A — full ~90 W from the switch / injector) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply at 2.5 A. Standard 802.3at PoE+ (25.5 W) and Hi-PoE 60 W will not reliably power this camera, especially with the heater, IR ring, white-light array and PTZ motors all under load. PoE 802.3bt Type 4 injector or switch on the camera's network run — single Cat 6 cable carries data and 90 W of power. Simplest install for most sites. 36 VDC dedicated supply at the camera — used where you're running fibre to the camera or where you prefer to separate power and data drops. The chassis weighs ≈ 10.5 kg — heavier than a single-sensor PTZ. Use a Hikvision pendant / wall / pole mount rated for the load, and check that the substrate and bracket together can support the camera plus wind loading over a 10-year service life. Contact our Australian team for the right 90 W PoE++ injector, 36 VDC supply or heavy-duty mount for your site. Deep-Learning AI — Both Channels Working Together The TandemVu architecture lets the two channels collaborate. The bullet sees the wide scene and detects events; the PTZ closes in on the target and captures evidence frames. The on-camera deep-learning engine handles classification, tracking and metadata generation locally — no central AI server required for the camera-level work. Auto-Tracking 3.0 — Bullet Sees, PTZ Follows The panoramic detects motion and classifies the target (human, vehicle, face). The PTZ automatically slews to the target's GPS-mapped location in the wide frame, locks on, and tracks the target through the scene at zoom. Linked tracking capture uploads best-frame close-ups during the entire follow. Perimeter Protection — On Both Channels Line crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting detection — filtered by human / vehicle classification — run on the panoramic AND the PTZ independently. Catch perimeter breaches in the wide view and validate them with the PTZ close-up. Multi-Target-Type Detection Simultaneous detection of face (7 features), human body (14 features) and vehicle (8 features) — rich metadata indexed against your VMS for fast post-incident search. Face Capture — 30 Simultaneous The PTZ captures up to 30 faces simultaneously, grades face quality, and uploads the best frame plus background context. Useful at port gates, mining-camp entries, transit stations and large-venue access points. Face Comparison — 150,000 Total 10 face libraries × 30,000 faces = 150,000 total with encrypted on-camera storage. Enterprise-scale watchlist comparison runs at the camera — even if the VMS is offline. Object Arming — Person + Vehicle Arm specific faces, human IDs or vehicles. When the camera detects an armed target in the scene, it triggers an alarm and switches to tracking-and-capture mode, uploading target location and context continuously. About On-Camera ANPR (Checkpoint Scenario Only) The DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 supports on-camera number-plate recognition via its deep-learning Road Traffic and Vehicle Detection engine — ≥98% LPR accuracy, 4 LPR region presets (including Asia-Pacific), a 10,000-record blocklist / allowlist, vehicle attribute capture (type, colour, brand, direction) and vehicle counting. Important caveat: Hikvision specifies LPR support only in a checkpoint scenario — meaning the camera is fixed on a defined approach lane where vehicles drive toward (or past at limited angle) the lens, at known speeds. Up to 120 km/h front-on capture, 80 km/h side capture. This is not the right tool for free-flow surveillance ANPR where the PTZ is also being used for general monitoring — for that workload, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet (iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY or iDS-2CD7A45G2/P-IZHSY). TandemVu's strength is simultaneous wide-scene + PTZ overwatch with auto-tracking — ANPR is a bonus, not the headline. PTZ Kinematics — 360° Endless Pan, 300 Presets, 3D Positioning 360° Endless Pan · 240°/s Preset 360° continuous pan with preset speed up to 240°/s and configurable speed from 0.1°/s to 160°/s. Compatible Mounts & Accessories DS-2115ZJ-PSAC — Pendant Mount Hikvision's pendant mount kit sized for the SF8C TandemVu chassis. Used where the camera hangs from a horizontal beam, eave or carport gantry — the most common heavy-PTZ install style. DS-4614ZJ-PAAC — Wall Mount Heavy-duty wall mount rated for the TandemVu's mass and wind loading. Pairs with the DS-1684ZJ-P-Y junction box for clean cable termination behind the bracket. DS-1684ZJ-P-Y — Junction Box Anti-corrosion junction box matched to the -Y variant chassis. Provides a sealed cable termination cavity behind the mount, keeping conduit fittings out of weather. PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) Injector / Switch Required if you're not powering the camera from a separate 36 VDC supply. Make sure the injector or switch is genuinely Type 4 (90 W) — standard PoE+ and Hi-PoE 60 W will not reliably power this camera under full load. Frequently Asked Questions What is TandemVu and why is it different from a normal PTZ?TandemVu is Hikvision's dual-sensor PTZ architecture: one chassis houses both a fixed wide-angle bullet (190° HFOV here) and a traditional zoom PTZ. The two sensors run as two independent IP channels from a single network drop. Result: the bullet keeps recording the wide scene at all times, even while the PTZ zooms in and tracks a target. A conventional PTZ loses the wide view the moment it zooms — TandemVu doesn't. How many channels does this consume on my NVR?Two channels per camera. Each TandemVu unit shows up as two streams (panoramic + PTZ) and consumes two NVR licences. Account for this when sizing the NVR — eight TandemVu cameras = 16 channels. Does it really support ANPR / number-plate recognition?Yes — but only in a checkpoint scenario. The camera must be fixed on a defined approach lane with vehicles facing the lens (or at limited side angle), at known speeds up to 120 km/h front or 80 km/h side. Accuracy is ≥98 %. This is not a free-flow ANPR camera. For free-flow ANPR on a busy road, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet such as the iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY. What does the "-Y" suffix mean and which variant do you stock? The -Y suffix indicates Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated, designed for coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline and areas affected by acid rain. We stock the DS-2SF8C442MXG1-ELWY/26 (with -Y) as our Australian default. What does the "/26" suffix in the model number mean? The "/26" denotes the specific variant of this TandemVu SF8C series — Hikvision uses the suffix to distinguish the panoramic-lens and PTZ-zoom-range combination for this SKU. Why doesn't it run on standard PoE+ or Hi-PoE?Two sensors, two image processors, a 90 W heater / IR / white-light / wiper load and PTZ motors push total demand to around 90 W. Standard PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, 25.5 W) and Hi-PoE 60 W are not enough headroom. The camera requires PoE 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply at 2.5 A. How does Auto-Tracking 3.0 work across the two channels? The panoramic detects a target and classifies it (human / vehicle / armed face). The PTZ automatically slews to the target's mapped location in the 190° frame, zooms in, and tracks the target as it moves through the scene. The bullet keeps recording the wide context for the entire follow — so you get both the situational view and the close-up evidence frames simultaneously. How far away can the PTZ identify a target?Per EN 62676-4 criteria at full telephoto: PTZ Detect 2,965.5 m · Observe 1,176.8 m · Recognise 593.1 m · Identify 296.6 m. Hikvision Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) — 4MP 36× DarkFighter 2.0 IR PTZ Network Speed Dome with 300 m IR (NEMA 4X)

Hikvision Ultra Series · 7A PTZ · 4MP · 36× Optical · DarkFighter 2.0 · 300 m IR · 150 dB AWDR · NEMA 4X Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) — 4MP 36× DarkFighter 2.0 PTZ Network Speed Dome with 300 m IR (NEMA 4X Anti-Corrosion) The Hikvision DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL(Y) is the IR-equipped flagship of Hikvision's 7A Ultra-Series PTZ line — a 4MP outdoor pan/tilt/zoom speed dome that pairs a 1/1.8" progressive-scan CMOS sensor and a 36× motorised optical zoom (6.0–216 mm · F1.2) with a built-in IR illuminator out to 300 m. DarkFighter 2.0 sensor technology, 150 dB AWDR, Smart Pan-Tilt Correction and a built-in gyroscope EIS round out the imaging chain. The -Y suffix on this Australian-stocked SKU denotes Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated for coastal Australian sites within roughly 2 km of the shoreline and for areas exposed to acid rain. The base DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL (no -Y) ships with no specific corrosion protection; we stock the -Y variant by default. This is the camera Hikvision builds for completely dark long-range surveillance — rural property boundaries with no street lighting, dark mining haul roads, unlit perimeter walls, river and forest monitoring at scenic spots, unlit rail-yard aprons, scenic-spot and large-venue overwatch. The IR LED array adds 300 m of reliable illumination at full telephoto zoom, while the DarkFighter 2.0 sensor takes over at any time the scene has even modest ambient light. PTZ kinematics are tuned for incident response: 360° continuous pan at up to 550°/s (700°/s max), tilt −20° to +90° auto-flip, 300 presets, 8 patrol routes and 3D click-to-frame positioning. Powered by PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 (90 W class) or 36 VDC, with built-in heater and demist. Cyber-hardened with TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 Level 2). Australian stock, 3-year Australian warranty. Optical Zoom 36× · 6–216 mm · F1.2 Long-Range IR Up to 300 m · 850 nm Resolution 4MP · 2688 × 1520 · up to 120 fps AI Engine Auto-Tracking 3.0 · Face Capture Protection IP67 · IK10 · NEMA 4X (-Y) Power PoE 802.3bt Class 8 · 36 VDC · 90 W 3-Year Australian Warranty Fast Australia-Wide Shipping Australian Tech Support Why Choose the 7A IR PTZ over the 6A Both the 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs share the same 1/1.8" DarkFighter 2.0 sensor, the same 36× optical zoom, the same 150 dB AWDR and the same on-camera deep-learning AI stack. The deciding question is how dark the scene actually gets at the far end of the zoom range. The 7A's built-in 300 m IR illuminator is the difference-maker: it lights an entire perimeter wall, dark haul road or rural property boundary at full telephoto, in zero ambient light. If the scene has streetlights, dock lighting or moonlight, the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 alone is enough. If the scene is genuinely dark, the 7A is what gets the shot. 300 m IR — Zero-Light Identification Smart IR illumination out to 300 m at 850 nm wavelength. The IR LED array is matched to the 36× zoom optics — at telephoto, the beam tightens with the zoom to keep target illumination consistent across the working range. 36× Optical Zoom · F1.2 · 6–216 mm The same long-zoom lens as the 6A — but here paired with the IR ring for completely dark scenes. Identify at 297.9 m tele (EN 62676-4), recognise at 595.9 m, detect to 2,979 m. DarkFighter 2.0 + 150 dB AWDR Same sensor and same wide-dynamic-range as the 6A — 0.0003 lux colour, 0.0001 lux monochrome, 150 dB AWDR. At dawn / dusk / mixed lighting the camera produces colour and switches to IR-aided monochrome only when needed. 550°/s Pan · 300°/s Tilt Pan preset speed up to 550°/s (max 700°/s), tilt to 300°/s. Faster than the 6A's 300°/s — important for incident response on big sites where the camera has to swing from one preset to a diagonally-opposite one in well under a second. Smart Pan-Tilt Correction + Gyroscope EIS Smart Pan-Tilt Correction automatically compensates for mechanical drift over time, keeping presets accurate to the original setpoint. Combined with the built-in gyroscope EIS, the image stays steady on tall pole mounts in coastal wind. Lighter, Smaller, IR-Equipped At 5 kg and ⌀ 215 × 297 mm, the 7A is actually smaller and lighter than the 6A (6 kg / ⌀ 231 × 356 mm) despite adding the IR LED ring — Hikvision re-engineered the optical assembly to gain the IR without growing the camera body. Important Install Note — PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) or 36 VDC The 7A IR PTZ does not run on standard PoE+ (802.3at, 25.5 W) or even Hi-PoE 60 W. Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W on either 36 VDC or PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 — the camera reserves 6.4 W for IR, 8 W for the heater and 52 W for the camera body. Standardise on one of the following: PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 injector or switch on the camera's network run — provides the full 90 W via single Cat 6 cable, the simplest install. 36 VDC dedicated supply at the camera — used where you're running fibre to the camera or where you prefer to feed power separately from the data drop. Standard PoE+ switches (15 W or 25.5 W class) will not reliably power this camera, especially when the IR ring and heater are both active in cold weather. Contact our Australian team for the right 90 W PoE++ injector or 36 VDC supply for your install. On-Camera Deep-Learning AI The 7A PTZ runs Hikvision's deep-learning engine on the camera itself, classifying objects and triggering only on the targets that matter. The full AI stack is identical to the 6A sibling — the 7A's value-add is purely the IR illuminator for dark scenes. Perimeter Protection Line crossing, region entrance, intrusion and region exiting detection — each filtered by target type (human / vehicle) to suppress nuisance alarms from rain, foliage, animals and headlight glare. Multi-Target-Type Detection Simultaneous detection across three target classes with rich feature extraction: face (7 features), human (14 features) and vehicle (8 features). Feeds searchable metadata into your NVR for fast post-incident review. Face Capture — 30 Simultaneous Detects up to 30 faces in frame, grades face quality, and uploads the best frame plus context. Useful at port gates, mining-camp entry points and large-venue access control. Face Comparison — 150,000 Total 10 face libraries × 30,000 faces = 150,000 total with encrypted on-camera storage — enterprise-scale watchlist comparison without a separate face server. Smart Tracking 3.0 — Auto-Follow Locks onto detected human or vehicle targets and pans / tilts / zooms automatically to keep them framed. Person arming mode flags specific faces or human IDs that trigger alarms plus tracking when detected. Audio & Behaviour Events Audio exception detection, video tampering, vandal-proof alarm, scene change, unattended baggage and object removal detection — useful for unmanned dock aprons, rail-yard sidings and large-venue overwatch. Pan / Tilt / Zoom — Faster Kinematics for Incident Response 360° Continuous Pan · 550°/s Preset 360° continuous pan with preset speed up to 550°/s (max 700°/s) — the camera moves from a preset on one side of the site to the opposite-side preset in well under a second. Tilt −20° to +90° · Auto-Flip Tilt range from −20° (below horizon, useful for tall-pole overviews of the ground below) to +90° with auto-flip support for tracking a target straight under the dome. 300 Presets · 8 Patrols 300 presets per camera, 8 patrol routes with up to 32 presets each. Schedule the camera to walk a perimeter route automatically every shift change. 3D Positioning · Power-Off Memory Click any target on the live image to centre-frame and zoom in one motion. Power-off memory returns the camera to its previous orientation after a brown-out. Smart Pan-Tilt Correction The PTZ self-corrects mechanical drift over time, keeping presets accurate to their original setpoint without manual re-calibration. Built-in Gyroscope EIS The gyroscope drives electronic image stabilisation — critical for tall pole installs in coastal wind, where mount vibration would otherwise blur the image and confuse the AI engine. The 6A and 7A Ultra-Series PTZs are essentially the same camera with one decisive difference: the 7A has a built-in 300 m IR illuminator; the 6A does not. Everything else — sensor, zoom, WDR, low-light spec, deep-learning AI, face capture, face comparison, auto-tracking, IP/IK protection, cyber-security baseline — is essentially identical. The 7A is also faster (550°/s pan vs 300°/s on the 6A) and surprisingly lighter (5 kg vs 6 kg). The cost of the IR ring is more power — the 7A needs PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) vs the 6A's Hi-PoE (60 W class). Hikvision DS-1276ZJ-P / DS-4660ZJ-PC — Corner Mounts Corner-mount kits for situating the PTZ at the corner of a building overlooking a carpark, dock apron, perimeter line or large-venue ground level. PoE 802.3bt Class 8 (90 W) Injector / Switch Required if you're not powering the camera from a separate 36 VDC supply. Make sure the injector or switch is genuinely Type 4 Class 8 (90 W) — standard PoE+ (25.5 W) and Hi-PoE (60 W) will not reliably power this camera with IR active. Contact our Australian team for the right injector. Frequently Asked Questions What does the "-Y" suffix mean and which variant do you stock? The -Y suffix indicates Hikvision's moderate anti-corrosion housing — NEMA 4X-rated, designed for coastal Australian sites within ~2 km of the shoreline and areas affected by acid rain. We stock the DS-2DF7A436IXG-ELY (with -Y) as our Australian default. The base DS-2DF7A436IXG-EL (no -Y) has "no specific anti-corrosion protection" per the datasheet — we don't stock it. How does the 300 m IR work — does it light the full 300 m at wide-angle? The IR illumination range scales with the zoom. At full telephoto, the IR beam tightens and reaches up to 300 m with the smart-IR supplement adjusting intensity to avoid over-exposing close-range targets. At wide-angle, the beam spreads to cover the wider field of view at a shorter effective distance. The combination keeps target illumination consistent across the zoom range. Why doesn't it run on standard PoE+ or Hi-PoE? Total camera power draw with the IR LED ring and heater active is up to 90 W. Standard PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) tops out at 25.5 W, and Hi-PoE (60 W class) doesn't have the headroom for the IR ring at full output. The camera requires PoE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8 (90 W) or a dedicated 36 VDC supply. Should I buy the 7A or the 6A sibling? If the scene has any reasonable ambient lighting at night (streetlights, dock lights, security floodlights, mast lighting, moonlight) the 6A's DarkFighter 2.0 sensor alone is enough — and you'll save on the 90 W power chain. Choose the 7A specifically for genuinely dark long-range sites: rural property boundaries, dark mining haul roads, unlit power-station yards, scenic-spot and river overwatch. Compare side-by-side: DS-2DF6A436XG1-EL(Y) → Does it support number-plate recognition (ANPR)? This is not marketed as an ANPR camera. The 7A PTZ is built for long-range surveillance, perimeter protection and auto-tracking. For on-camera number-plate recognition, choose a dedicated DeepinView ANPR bullet — for example the iDS-2CD7A46G2/P-IZHSY with its purpose-built LPR engine and 10,000-record plate database. How far away can the camera identify a target? Per EN 62676-4 criteria at full telephoto: Detect 2,979 m · Observe 1,182 m · Recognise 596 m · Identify 297.9 m. "Identify" means the image is detailed enough to recognise a specific individual — that's a usable working distance for almost any large-site security application. Detection extends nearly 3 km. How does Smart Pan-Tilt Correction work? Over thousands of pan/tilt cycles, mechanical drift can shift preset positions by a few degrees from their original setpoints. Smart Pan-Tilt Correction measures and compensates for that drift automatically, keeping all presets accurate to the original setpoint without manual re-calibration — important for unmanned sites where a technician can't easily re-set presets in person. Will the camera record locally if the NVR drops? Yes. microSD up to 1 TB — when the network link to the NVR drops, the camera continues writing locally and the footage is available for retrieval once the link returns. What's the warranty and where is it serviced? This camera ships with a 3-year Australian Hikvision warranty, serviced back-to-base through Hikvision Australia. CCTV Guru manages the entire RA process from our Sydney office and provides Australian-based pre-sales and technical support for the life of the product. Do you ship Australia-wide and is stock genuine? Yes — Australian stock from authorised Hikvision Australia channels (not parallel imports).
